I'm mobile too. I don't store my chemicals in my vehicle. Number 1 mistake mobile detailers make. Heat degrades chemicals. There is a storage temperature posted on chemicals and trust me it's not 140 degrees 🙃
thanks bro i needed this, no one feels your dreams like you do. got all my tools starting with very minimal tools and experience and this video has hyped me up all over again. imma work it till it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Work life balance is the key in this business. If not, you’ll burn yourself out and quit the business. I closed my door last month with a client list over 100+ all over SD. In the end all the customers didn’t wanna pay the new price but instead ask for a recommendation for a detail at that price. I knew then and there this is not a long term business cause your clients will find someone else just like that.. been in business for over 3 years. Spent a lot of the van and equipment. Learn a lot from paint correction to wrapping. Even detailer for a few big clients but in the end. Can you be 40 yrs old detailing out in the field everyday?? Don’t say you’ll be able to find help cause once you do they learn the in n outs and start their business. This type of industry is very easy to get replaced even if your quality top tier. All because you couldn’t squeeze those clients in that week cause your booked out. The hours and trials we put into detailing is not worth it. I switch over to the silk screen business and I’m happy to say that it’s pays way more with a balance schedule for my personal time, family, and friends. Only experience detailers will understand this.
I just invested 2k on equipment out here in Ventura CA, doing it out of my civic. I don’t think I’ll be buying a van for it because of the reasons you mentioned, instead I’ll leverage what I make to start a different business, I agree with you man!! But for the meantime I’m gunna do it maybe for a year before I advance to another business, the silk screen sounds very interesting. Thank you for writing this.
