Appreciate the support brother!
Hi Chris, Finally got some very nice weather in CO. Going to paint some rims. Using all your information and the A610. The A610 came directly from China and was damaged in shipping. I did get a 100% refund and they told me to keep it. Other than the air regulator/shutoff valve being completely bent over the gun was fine. I took a chance and went to Spray Gunner and bought a replacement valve for $24. So for $24 I have a A610. I will use it with primer first to really make sure it sprays OK. Later Buddy! Happy Easter.
Awesome! Worked out well! Happy Easter! Beautiful day here in Oklahoma!
Wow nice now this is what I call a body man he knows ĥis stuff
Thank's brother!
Fantastic

Hey Chris, would this process be the same for a rear door? If not, could you do a video on rear doors? LOL. Thanks, awesome content as always!
🤣Totally different process for the rear door! 🤣You'll have to wait for the rear door video buddy! Appreciate the comment and support brother!
Nice tutorial 😊JR
👍Thank you!

Thanks for your invaluable lessons! Dennis Sigala from the Gulf Coast of Florida Destin
I appreciate that and it's something I've considered. The issue is I'm not sure I have enough time to devote to it and I wouldn't feel comfortable unless it was a benefit to my audience. I may tho, appreciate the support!
Please test your R500/R610 needles and nozzles with water BEFORE using.
This is probably common practice to the seasoned painters but my first primer job was a total mess. Used the R610 1.7 tip for primer, the damn thing sputtered and back fed air into the 3M paint cup which started to leak all over due the the air back feeding. Adjusted air pressure at the compressor and the gun regulator, spray fan angles. Good thing it was just primer and I was able to work through the extremely rough finish, felt like a truck bed liner, by sanding with 220, 330 and 600. A ton of extra work.
Chris, maybe you can do an episode of how to avoid paint disasters like mine! (;
Also another issue, the 610 air valve threads were not catching. I removed the valve assembly and noticed that the shaft was bent causing the threads not to line up. After straightening the shaft the valve screw threads were able to catch and air pressure could be adjusted. I leave it wide open anyway but the all the issues with this gun makes we question the quality control.
Needless to say my first painting experience has not been a fun one, but thank you Chris for sharing your knowledge and I have been learning a lot from your videos! (:
👍
I would like to see someone do a video on a 1958 chevy tail gate that has alot of dings and dents so I get a good idea on fixed mine I get frustrated trying to fix mine
Ps I have very little feeling In my hands to feal for high or low spot
That's a pretty specific video. Appreciate the comment!
Muito bom e top um dia eu quero trabalhar
👍
Thank you... I've been waiting for this video for the settings for primer.. how do you think this primer would spray with the 1.7 tip? I also have the 1.3
I this the 1.7 is a bit large. I use a 1.3 but I use the primer reduced.
So Da after straightening the pannel is okay?
I need to paint my 2007 Chevy Avalanche door black. It has faded over the years due to buffing out my dogs nail scratches. Getting crazy expensive estimates, one was $3,000....can I just use black spray paint?
can you share a link to the video where you meantioning cutting in the underside of the door at 14:47?
Hey Chris got a question for you I have a 1999 Accord 4 door sedan (black). Typiical honda paint faded on the hood , roof and trunk area (no clear at all ). As for the sides faded out clear from top of the doors r just past the bottom of the windows. The rest all the way to the bottom has clear. How would you attack this. ? After sanding would you do a "wet bed" on the entire care or seal it. Want the repaint the whole car back it's original color of black. Only minor door dents everything else is straight on the car.
Thanks for all you do,
Tony
I would seal the upper surfaces prep the side with 600 and repaint and clear. Appreciate the support
What is a reasonable price to have a used door painted and mounted?
There's a lot of variables there depending on the cost of the door typically doors are around 500 bucks, used doors, but they can they can cost more and then do they need additional work before painting? There could be some costs involved in that. Usually hanging door, is a few hours labor 2 to 3 hours, which would be probably 200 bucks. I would say a reasonable price is gonna be between 500 in a 1000. there's also the fact that you have to blend into the adjacent panels. If you're painting just the door it's not gonna match perfectly unless you blend into the adjacent panels. Hope this helps appreciate you watching. Thanks to the comment.
Hi Chris, thank you for the great tutorial. I got a door from the junkyard for my jeep grand cherokee with different color. So, The used door is in good shape. So do i need to sand the door to metal or just sand the clear coat then apply a 2k primer and paint it with the new color after that? I’ll be using 2k aerosol primer !
If it's in good condition you don't even need to primer it. Definitely don't need to take it to bare metal. Prepare the surface with 600 and base.
I really appreciate your content! Had a question, can you paint over sanded clear coat or does it all have to be removed down to the base coat before priming? Thanks in advance, I'm new to all this.
I knew this question was going to come up. After I had this video uploaded I realized I neglected to answer this. The answer is no, if the paint is in good condition it's best not to remove it. Surface scratches and imperfections can be repaired without stripping off the old paint. If the paint is cracked or deteriorating then you may want to strip it down. Appreciate the question and support!
@@GarageNoise Helpful, thanks :)
Are you using a 1.3 tip when you are spraying that upol primer as a surfacer (4, 1, 1)?
I should have read the other comments before asking. 😅
Yes
So 1.3 tip for the primer and 1.3 for the paint as well on the lvlp gun?
I used the 1.3 for both in this video. You might need to use a 1.4 if your using this prime at full strength 4:1 mix .appreciate the comment and support!
@@GarageNoise but the 1.3 is good for clear and paint
@@SOUTHSIDESUPERSTAR yes, that's what I use for the clear and paint. The 1.3
Master you mentioned that I can use the primer 2k as a seller , how can I do can you show this me please! I follow Garage Noise From Nicaragua. Thankful
Awesome! Appreciate the support! The mixing ratio is 4:1:2 primer, activator and urethane reducer. In this video I mix and use upol as a sealer.
@@GarageNoise thanks so much !
Not many painter can do this skills
@@Genshim5 👍
Do you dilute the isopropyl alcohol? Is it the 70, or 90%?
I Don't dilute it. It is 70%
@Garage Noise Thank you again for your time in posting and responding.
I've been looking all over for the u-pol 2253 primer in the uk and it look like we don't have it available. I'm currently using the 2025 but would have liked to try out the 2253 for its added sealer and direct to metal capabilites. Any one from the uk know of any primers that does all this and is available in the uk.
You probably have Roberlo me1 in your are that's a 2k primer that can be used as a sealer as well you might look into it. Appreciate the support!
@@GarageNoise thanks I'll take a look.
