In addition to Drewnoksi's velvet sound, the tempo he chose is simply hypnotic. One feels him on the dance floor dancing with someone very special. He also varied the repeats (color, tempo, rubato) in the waltz so they don't sound exactly the same. He seems to have a special affection for this waltz. Bravo Mr. D.!!!

Beautiful performance. The tempo is not too fast nor too slow. The rubato is tasteful and beautifully integrated into the whole piece of music. Drewnowski pays respect to Chopin .... by adhering to the music and to Chopin's own dynamics. I compared this performance with Horowitz at the White House ... And the contrast is stunniing. Horowitz tosses tempo to the wiinds, adds incomprehensible staccatos and elaborate ornaments, overwhelming Chopin with Horowitz. Drewnowski plays CHOPIN

I've been admiring this performance and trying to emulate it for a long time, at least 5 or 6 years. It's so gracefully played, full of sad elegance. What I admire most of all is the pianist's absolute lack f tension. It's something I'll never have.

Boże, ten walc jest tak piękny, że nawet nie potrafię wyrazić słowami tego, co czuję kiedy go słucham.

Tempo is just perfect - delicate, elegant, passionate... Like telling a fairy tale. Great Chopin piano music played by a great pianist.

I am a pianist and hearing this song just makes it so expressive and elegant, i could clearly tell the difference between the waltz and bridges. So romantic and at the same time so expressive.

As a pianist and a filmmaker I'm always surprised and annoyed when the hands are not shown. I don't want to see the face only. Watching a musician actually performing on the instrument is what we want to see

Probably for marketing reasons since the performer is quite attractive. Otherwise I agree.

As filmmaker , it is understandable, when you are filming actors playing piano. When pianists are playing , I absolute agree with you , this camera view is nonsense.

I remember hearing my father, who was a fairly bad piano player, trying for years, off and on, to play this Valse brillante - I heard no other version of it. And still I thought how intriguing and evocative it was. Such is the power of Chopin!
