When someone is a habitual collector, they don’t change overnight, so I won’t be shocked if within less than a month is back to what we first saw, which is too bad because it looks so nice, the money that they spent you hope that would change their thinking, and their habits! It Remains to be seen, but hoping things will change.
I knew a hoarder family. Their home was so old and badly handled that it had to be torn down. In its place they got a beautiful modern double wide. I saw it 3-4 days after they moved in and it was a bit unkempt but not bad. I went back a month later and it was disgusting ! In just a month !
It's exactly the way it will be. They can't declutter as they are still emotionally attached to all that stuff & have to deal with the underlying cause to their problem which probably goes way back. Money wasted, although Hillary did an amazing job as always.
That was a really nice transformation. Thanks to Hillary! This lovely lady now needs to keep it all tidy. Some people don't know how to keep a home tidy because it is either too much or there is an emotional problem meaning they are unable to apart for personal things they don't need. If you let go it'll give you room for beautiful things like the space you need. I'm loving everything in this beautiful home and what a lovely couple they are...love Australia xx
She had several months during covid where there was nothing else to do. What does she mean, there wasnt any time? My fam of 4 spent some of that time cleaning up and organizing. It was time well spent.
The remodel was great ,it gives so much more usable space .They have all they need in this house, but the question is what is going to happen with the 3 housefuls of stuff they removed .
@@sh.4409 I also used to clean before the housekeeper came over and after she left I would touch up cleaning anything she missed😂. My health took a turn for the worse so I had no choice but to let go of the extras.
Hillary helped make Ann next step in life (grown-up life ) a smoth transition. After Ann welcomed Kaylee and Hayley & Ronnie to her home. Hilary 👍 as always. Love is the main ingredient. ♥️
Even if she got rid of half her stuff they still needed much more storage. But I'm pretty sure the homeowners are keeping their own furniture, like nightstands and dressers and stuff.
When they use the phrase "collect stuff," there is a problem. That is not collecting, it's just living surrounded by junk. If they don't correct their habit of keeping so much stuff, it doesn't matter how much remodeling or organizing you do, it will always return to a junk filled space.
Wow HGTV a can come to my house anytime. I am 71 years old . I bought a house and my daughter lives upstairs and I live downstairs in the basement apartment. And that apartment has gotten water in it 6 times since I bought it 2 years ago. I have just had 2 sump pumps installed . And now the man is possibly suggesting a third one. Mine you these are all in my basement apartment. I will need to rip out all my bottom kitchen cabinets for the third one. I have about 3,000 left. At my wits end. I am waiting for the mold to grow even though my daughter has used a dry/wet vac many, many times and fans. I give up and she is tired too. This home you just remolded for this family is beautiful and I would just be happy to have this water problem solved so I can put in a normal tile floor……I am living on concrete. And of course when we bought the house the inspector said it was a dry home and basement. UGH!!🏠🏠
I’m a bit of a minimalist so the way it was before felt very stressful to me. The couple seems lovely and if they are more maximalist then that’s their choice.
First thing I said, all she's gonna do is clutter it up again. 😂 In no time, probably still has the same clutter on standby and will just haul it right back in as soon as Hilary leaves 🤣
@@bpxl53yewz29 She obviously has too much stuff for the space - hoarding much? AND she is very junky, she has no idea how to organize a home. How she keeps things and has allowed conditions in the home to become isn't fair because she has a husband and two step daughters who have to live there now. Let me be clear, living like this is disgraceful, anyone whose home looks like this, please seek help and treatment for hoarding, it is out there. This bears repeating since people like this are delusional and very stubborn and this was her home originally. Change is possible and I truly hope for the sake of this family that this woman seeks a cure. Just moving the stuff won't change anything if her core mindset has not changed and she might need professional help.
Do, it's the young woman's house but her new husband is doing all the negative comments. He has two daughters she inherited? Wow! I hope he is going to pay for the changes?. He fell on his feet?????
So many comments about this makeover not being maintained but it seemed like they just had too much stuff. They combined two households but didn’t purge. Now with it decluttered, as long as she doesn’t have an Amazon or target addiction, she should be able to maintain it. It’s the initial overwhelm of decluttering 30 years of stuff
I do wonder how long both the clean tidiness and the marriage will last. He's a lucky man to have a free home for himself and his 2 daughters, I do hope he really loves her.
It's a shame anybody at all would even live like that. I don't get it. God knows how long this is gonna last. Coz's Hillary did an amazing job and it should stay that way.
She needs counseling because she’s a hoarder 😢and he has been supporting it so he needs counseling also. Alll of this is a waste if they don’t get counseling for the hoarding disease

She's a near-hoarder so I anticipate it will go back to looking like it did before in not too much time....but the layout and decor are MUCH better.
that's exactly what i thought, unfortunatly

correct, I was thinking the same.
Same she is a hoarder

They could have just decluttered and took that weird wall down. And saved themselves thousands 😂 Although Hilary did an excellent job per usual 🥰
What an absolutely beautiful woman, in every way. Loving stepmother and second wife. She's an absolutely beautiful human being.
Yes but you're only saying this to point out her redeeming qualities because she's a hoarder and junky as he11 🤣 I wonder how long this will last 😂

Such a cute couple. Happy for them, Hilary is god sent ✨
I doubt it very much if they will be able to maintain their new house!
I would be the one that cleans up the place BEFORE inviting someone in to do renovations? DECLUTTER at least!
My mum use to clean before the cleaner came round.
That was disgraceful and it seems she had no idea 😂
Which is why she will do it again and again.@@RMMomma4Eva

A Hilary and Marie Kondo collaboration would have been cool to see 😂
My sister was like this loved clutter,i would go and clean up for her, two months time back to normal, hope she stops👏
Unless you get to the root of what makes her do that, nothing will change. 😢it's an actual mental disorder.
Excellent job Hilary.

It was a small house, and well designed storage is key.

Wow, this was a very succinct program. I missed the drawing, the planning, the give and take etc.
Would do anything for this transformation… too good!
Clutter bugs pay tree times more, but hope they will keep this way, great and amazing Job ❤❤❤
Now when they bring everything from next door it will look the same.
I thought I was watching an episode of Horders 😂😂
Great Work, hope they can learn not to collect and clutter again.
I need to go declutter my house now. Which is rather tidy compared to these folks.
They are going to have to keep that other home for all their suff
What about the house next door
❤️❤️thank you ❤️❤️in need to declutter too knowing the feeling ❤️🐉❤️
Love that kitchen
❤️love the change ❤️
I give it 3 months before it's all clutter again.
You’re being generous giving it three months. I say three weeks.
Two I guess
I say 3 days, it's all on standby in the house next door where they were staying 😂 You just know she didn't actually get rid of a thing 🤣
@RMMomma4Eva : my thoughts exactly. They "moved in" to the house next door...so all that stuff is there ready to be brought over
And she'll take over his closets.
I’m obsessed with having a big table to eat at with family or guests. They have the island but that’s it so a no go for me.
Hillary you are amazing
Omg amazing fantastic
Love the kitchen
With open concept that whole area is going to be a full on view of clutter from the front door 😬
This is BS. Where is all their stuff? I'm convinced they didn't throw all out.
Probably at storage units 😂
Still next door😅
Not enough storage for their needs
I’m a bit of a minimalist so the way it was before felt very stressful to me. The couple seems lovely and if they are more maximalist then that’s their choice.
'The best chef on the planet couldnt really manage construct, serve a meal in this kitchen ' chefs on ships in any navy in the world ' hold my knife '

First thing I said, all she's gonna do is clutter it up again. 😂 In no time, probably still has the same clutter on standby and will just haul it right back in as soon as Hilary leaves 🤣
Well, it is a small place for 3 adults. I don’t blame her for the clutter. There’s no storage space

The transformation is super but they do not have where to pit their belongings.
I doubt they declutter
Love Hillary❣️❣️
I agree. Unless they become minimalists, they will ruin this little house within several months
Sweet...honey, it's your house too
Do your clients get help with being hoarders? Classes, psychological counselling?

It helps if you have large rooms... to create
That poor lady, she might be the nicest person in the world. But she needs therapy if this is going to last. 💯
How long will it take for the junk to pile up again? Great job Hilary.
It seems to me she should have moved into Ronny's big house and kept the little house for vacation home. My guess Ron didn't own a house.
He and the girls moved to Raleigh from another city and brought their whole lives into that tiny house.
They needed to be on the hoarders show.
They should have been featured on 'Hoarders' instread....
How long is it going to stay neat and tidy? She is almost a full fledged hoarder
This seems a little disingenuous. Not all of her belongings are in the new space. Did she really get rid of that much stuff?
Organization skills would be help. 😅
No dining table?
It looks beautiful, but I can feel her anxiety at having no clutter around.

This woman is a total hoarder. She doesn't need any of that crap she collected.
That’s no hoarding. Real hoarders are much worse. This place is small for 3 adults
They're hoarders 😮
Omg I could not live with all that clutter Some people are just pack rats my OCD would kick in. I can’t take it. This will drive me crazy 🤪lol
What happened to all their stuff?
Why is hubby not providing a home?

So much "stuff"
🫢🙄🤦♀️ Girl.
Horder's home
Seriously? Is this Tough Love or Hoarders??? Can you spell DECLUTTER???
So much crap! Declutter and there would be much more space.
I sell crap in my house every day and throw crap out - can’t wait till all gone
Oh geez no woman in the world needs that many shoes!!!!

They are clearly hoarders
they dont know how to arrange their things. worse case scenario, they will become hoarders and will come out in one of the episodes of Hoarders.
WHY DON'T THEY MOVE
Where is Hillary based at? Is it California?
Canada I think
She lives in North Carolina. Search, there's a video on YT of her getting her own house done.
@@RMMomma4Eva Yes, used to be in Toronto, now in North Carolina.

They need a therapist not a renovation
I can't watch it. It's too upsetting. These people are hoarder adjacent. It's terrible. And they're teaching the children to be the same way.
