Joey's playing has changed my guitar approach altogether. The tone means nothing without the music and vice versa. And no effects will ever replace the dynamics of the player, instrument and amp. I keep coming back here lol.
It’s been awhile since I’ve been totally enamored with a song, a voice and phenomenal guitar playing like this. I’m sure I’m late to the party but this guy is absolutely amazing!
Love me some Joey Landreth; similar to me as to the vibe and excellence, although different too, of Doyle Bramhall II. As others have mentioned, spine tingling greatness.
Damn Joey, way to write a song about my love life ;) ...still driving that van down how many roads I can’t count, trying to get back to the “one” I left behind, hoping the little darling left the light on... I’ll just keep driving...
What a clever homage to Blowin’ in the Wind wrapped in one of the tastiest songs I’ve heard in a long time performed by 3 incredibly talented musicians AND performers. A++
I wish i was going to see this band in Berwyn IL.. tomorrow.. never seen them and im still hoping. Since i started listening this year to their music.. I listen everyday
Unfortunately these days talent like this is lost. This is eagles, skinner and Clapton standard. Makes it all more so golden for those that get it. Lovely job
to a tired waltz beat -- Almond brothers minus the rock. Landreth's voice is great and his slide guitar skills has the potential to be the resurrection of Duane Almond, but as long as he wallows around the grave site singing funeral music, it'll never happen
Joey you're an inspiration to songwriters. Everything you do, from the melody, to the lyrics, to the vocal inflections, to the chord choice, to the tone of the guitars, to the ripping solos, to the perfect execution... let me know if you're ever in Atlanta and you wanna give me a 2 hour workshop. Giving back makes people feel awesome they say. Haha. Seriously, keep making that honest music and giving us something to strive towards.
Lost what I was listening to until this came on then quickly realized I was really loving this 🎉 recommend more please Not going to look this up I'm going to guess your Sonny Landreths relation amazing
This is fucking beautiful and super well played. You killed it bro, i never find new artists interesting anymore, as they all brainless shredders but you took the better route. Keep on going because I'll be following you now.
Amazing song, true musicianship! Your music inspired me to buy a Suhr Classic Pro and a ReVv dynamis 7-40, your tone is sweet! All the best! Alberta, Canada here... cheers!
This is so fucking good... at times it made me want to put all my guitars away and never play again. And other moments found me yearning for an axe so I could play along. Just amazing.
Just saw Joey in Paris ON tonight. This dude is AMAZING, both in voice and guitar chops! What a great show. Super cool dude, cant wait for the new album and the new Brothers Landreth one too...
The sound quality of this live take is outstanding even using simple earphones through an IPad. The video production is first class too, although I would have liked to have seen the chord inversions that Joey used.
What do you think personally taught you the most about songwriting? Is there a particular artist or experience that helped you develop certain ideas? Or is it something that more or less came naturally to you with experience? Just curious to learn from your process. Thanks.
Jezus, I only checked out this guy because of his connection to Ariel Posen... It's no wonder they were playing together. Now I have to check out the stuff with them both!
These recordings are unbelievably inspiring. All the feelings. Can't wait to go home, plug into my deluxe and sound absolutely nothing like this. Lol.
Haha you speak for all of us.
hahahahaha thats awesome
I was so inspired I added Gone Girl to our band's set list. We will sound terrible and I will love it.

Lol
I can't get enough of this guys music and guitar playing. Pure magical musical genius!!!!
You know that feeling of chills running down your spine when you first discover a new artist...
I do....;)
Experiencing that at the moment!
That smile on the bassists face at :33 only comes when you simply enjoy clicking with another musician on a riff. Been there!
Americana at its finest. Joey is so good.
It’s been awhile since I’ve been totally enamored with a song, a voice and phenomenal guitar playing like this. I’m sure I’m late to the party but this guy is absolutely amazing!
What a lucky find! Soulful, tender, with a hint of ferocity.
This is one of the best soul songs I’ve ever heard. Full stop. ❤️🤘🏼🤘🏼
Love me some Joey Landreth; similar to me as to the vibe and excellence, although different too, of Doyle Bramhall II. As others have mentioned, spine tingling greatness.
He’s so gentle. It feels like he’s caressing the notes out of that guitar, like a lover.
Couldn’t have said it better
Can't believe this guy isn't on the radio ? His voice is so different but cool and his guitar playing is awesome !!
I can listen to this 500 times and it still feels new. You are so tasteful and complex.
Damn Joey, way to write a song about my love life ;) ...still driving that van down how many roads I can’t count, trying to get back to the “one” I left behind, hoping the little darling left the light on... I’ll just keep driving...

Since i started listening this year to their music..
I listen everyday
Joey is the only artist at the moment that I can listen to and be given the same chills I got when I heard Hendrix for the first time
What about Lowell? This guy's slide work reminds me so much of little feat
Have you heard Philip Sayce ? To me he’s more in the Hendrix vein of things
Exaggerate much?
Beautifully Wow... How can one give this masterpiece a thumbs down?

Good heavens...that tone!!

Joey is the human element that I was missing from most of today's music. Thank you sir.
I just can not stop crying of joy. You fill my heart and soul man.
Damn this guy is incredible just discovered him why isn’t it more well known?!
Nice to see an inspirational artist! I discovered him totally randomly. Favorite new artist!!!!
*Joey Landreth + Allen Stone Tour 2019* is what America NEEDS
This is the REAL thing! Amazing band! Thanks for making music that has soul again
I'm in a bit of a rough time in life. I'll be fine but this song really does help calm me down when needed.
Thanks Joey!
my goodness what a feeling... that was so sweet n when I realized I felt it was gone ....
Wow....what a humble way to ride a song! Amazing.
Man oh man . What an amazing picker singer

Man his tone is killer, what an excellent performance
Can't get enough. Love this guy.
When I saw you above a pub in Brighton in your solo gig. I knew deep in my heart you would make all the way to @thatpedalshow. Well done you 😂

Jan from denmark
Fabulous...awesome musicians.

I came here because Rhett Shull mentioned you on his channel. Beautiful song!
Fantastic
So much musicianship in this recording. The touch and tone of each instrument is incredible!
stunned!
You guys rock! So much sound put out by a trio...shows how talented each of you are!
Just awesome. Love this live and raw
Had my stank face on for that solo. So good dude!!
That solo is just something on another level. I don't even know the words to describe it.
They're back touring again as of this fall.
crimfan Oh I know! I already have tickets for 2 shows in October. Can't wait!
Stunning, breathtaking and masterful is how I would describe this. I saw him in Toronto a few days ago and I'm still picking up my jaw off the floor!
God I need to see you guys live so bad
Great!!!
Love what you’re doing Joey.
Great song, great playing, great singing.
Reminds me a little of Joe Cocker's rendition of With a Little Help From My Friends. Fantastic stuff
Incredible joey
Such a great song.
This is fantastic.

He plays in open C - so it is not easy to figure out even when you watch his hands!
Wow cool 💯👍
Absolutely moving! Joey you are an inspiration. Beautiful playing, fantastic dynamics. Love it.
So great, Joey!!! Love Meg and Ryan, too.
All right, we get it Joey is amazing, but whoever mixed this that bass is sitting so perfectly in the mix!

Love these recordings, thanks Joey. Whiskey is the soundtrack to my work commute at the moment, looking forward to more.
