Joey Landreth is such a tasteful player. I think that’s the most important thing to be if you’re going to survive a jam with Uncle Larry. This was magic.
Agree brother... ha, though the thought of "surviving" a jam with Uncle Larry is quite valid LOL... and on the other side of the discussion-- a "jam" being a collaboration ( and not some cuttin contest ), you know, surviving, isn't an idea I'd want to witness as a listener... peace
I use the word ‘survive’ because how many players can be totally free from the minute they start playing, without having to think about their next move. There aren’t many but Tom is without doubt one of them. Any genre of music, he immediately makes it sound like a record, not a borrowed lick in sight. So if you forget competition, because you can’t outplay him, and play along tastefully from the heart rather the head, you’ll probably do ok.
One of the coolest things to ever happen to me was when Joey offered a free guitar lesson. he's one of my fav players ever and I about fell out of my chair. He's as classy as they come and will go down in history as one of the best guitar player / singer / songwriters ever.
Damn Uncle Larry….this is fantastic! Have you guys ever played together before? Kinda weird…I discovered you when you started doing your RUclips videos, and I discovered Joey right about the same time. You, Joey and Ariel Posen are 3 of my best discoveries …in my adult life.
Holy Duesenberg, That was so sweet! Thanks guys I felt the light. Don't have to go to church this Sunday! So much spoken with nothing said. The power of Music!
A remarkable two-person jam by two musicians exploring a wondrous sonic space, creating a bluesy musical interplay that goes beyond mere cliche. Joey creates compelling textures that capture the well-attuned ear, while Tommy B offers exploratory lines and musical gestures packed with feeling, energy, and innovative guitar play. For sure, Joey offers generous gems via his deep, skillful playing with a real slide. But Tommy B makes the piece swing and groove with lines inspired by a juicy, resonant faux slide. Our dear uncle knows how to deliver the magic! Impressive indeed.
Wow. Never thought I would see these two guitar gods together. What a treat , I bet Dan an Mick are having a fit !!! Thanks guys , no doubt two of the greatest guitar players on this planet !!!
This reminds me of what Keith Richards said about getting two guitar players together who are totally in sympathy with one another, totally LOCKED IN and feeding of one another.. Sounds Mega, Love it 😝⭐️🌞❤️👍🏻
Wow. My two favorite players and amongst my favorite humans. I had the pleasure to see Joey play a bunch of times, met him too. What a great overall human and player.
Tom, I am grateful for you and your channel. I’ve always been crazy guitar fan and it’s not that easy to find stellar playing out there. Except at your place. Amazing music. For free. Thanks, man.
Good god Almighty, Love to see a live show of this! Joey is one of the most tasteful slide players around and Tom sounds like he's Playing Slide! Absolutely Killer!
Brothers Landreth are awesome musicians. His brother is a great bass player. Joey is a great singer as well. He is real tone chaser. He has tons of fuzzes and makes magic with them. He plays heavy strings on his guitars. To much great things about Joey to mention them all. Plus he is still with his both feet on the ground. Friend was in contact with him and he was amazed how normal Joey is despite being great musican. Gotta love the dude.
OK, other than the next post, I’ve watched every Home Skooling ever made. This is now tied with my favorite song played on this epic podcast The Uncle Larry makes for all of us crazy cats! Thanks gents. You have touched my soul and inspired me beyond belief. 🙏🏻🤙🏼🙌🏼
God damn this is absolutely insane. Ridiculous playing as always, and the guitar tones are incredible! There’s something about those Duesenberg guitars that resonates with me every time I hear them… the mid range clarity is astounding. They sing so much and cut through a mix without ever sounding harsh. Truly amazing instruments
Geez. Congrats to Duesenberg, congrats to all involved in this video. Two of my fav musicians ever, no kidding. If someone asked me, I'd say this meeting was unlikely to happen, but life still surprises me in some good fashion!!
Two of my favorite guitar players, and one happens to be in my favorite band! Saw The Bros. Landreth last year and I'll be seeing them in Canada in March. Awesome seeing you guys together.
Thanx Tom sounds great Right in my neck of the woods but not able to attend NAMM this year.. Always love the way it recharges me batteries withe all the sights, sounds, new gear, and cool people.
Tommy and Joey. 2 of the absolute best. Thanks guys!
My thoughts exactly!!!
Mine to!!! ❤
Bless Duesenberg for bringing together two of our favorite players.
Uncle Larry's use of the driving bass note is something to admire.

Or put on a slide

That rug really ties the room together
We NEED a collaboration album and/or show with uncle Larry & Joey. Please guys please!
So I've watched this again for about the 30th time and in my humble opinion Tom Bukovac is one the world's greatest guitarists. Period.
Uncle Larry going to break the guitar internet with this one. Too much awesomeness for 1 video.
Perfect example of two players really listening to each other! Pure magic. Loved it.
Making the world smile, spreading six string joy. Thanks Tom!
If two guys should ever make an album together it's these two....what a match made in the cosmos!
Don't let the awesome licks overshadow that groove! Damn, Tom's laying it down with the funk underneath all that!
What a perfect way to wrap up the work week and get your mindset adjusted for the weekend.
That was some of sweetest playin' and some of the best sounding slide from plain ole fingers I've ever heard. Thanks Joey and Uncle Larry!
That sounded amazing. Joey is truly one of the best slide players around these days. I won't name my other favorite, but his initials are Derek Trucks
Uncle Larry, please, please, please have Joey on the show again. Good gracious, you two cooked up something mighty special there.
I cried because it finished!!! Damn I would have loved to be a fly in that room!! Amazing!
I watched it 3 times back to back. Amazing jam
