Personally I think there is a lot of bias against women musicians - like a glass ceiling. If you were to ask people to name the top twenty blues guitarists or whatever they would not think of women. When was the last time you heard a guitarist interview where they asked about influences and they named a woman in the list? I took a bunch of CDs to a used record store and the ones the young guy would not buy were ALL women artists. Some of those CDs were quite good. One was a compilation of the best of blues women that included Sue Foley. I would bet if you did a blindfold test of people listening to this performance (unfamiliar with Sue Foley) and in one case you said the woman was just signing and the other she was also playing guitar and then asked how good the guitarist was you would get very different responses.
Believe this folks, Sue has been playing this pink telecaster for a long time. First saw her at the Continental club in Austin in the 90s-- for happy hour shows, then thereafter at... the infamous Antone's blues club when Clifford was still alive as the reigning king of blues in Austin, et al. Talent, diversity, good looks and staying power... So glad I ran into this vid--a serious reminder of the scene some people now refer to as 'old Austin'. And so the times they are changin', the real old Austin started in the 60s. C'est la vie 😎
Hola, está mujer es totalmente increíble, tantos años 😘🤩, y sigue siendo extraordinaria como siempre, a mi me encanta como toca y canta, , es INCREÍBLE.,. ,❤♾️🌀🍀
Discovered her CDs while in New Orleans, recommended by the shop owner... have been BLOWN AWAY by her charm and BOLDNESS ever since... Her HUGHES ROOM concerts in Toronto were INCREDIBLE too!
Second song after a long day of stress. Music has healing powers. I feel the changes happening after watching this. Stress is dissipating fast. And I've been a fan of Sue since a friend introduced me last year. Been so blown away by her talent that only today did I notice something else. She is a very fine looking woman. I'm getting old.
I think the band is absolutely great! I'd like to send my congratulations to the bass player,I loved his stage presence. That's something I need to learn: how to dress
Sue seems to have discovered the fountain of eternal youth, because I swear she looks the same as she did in the 90s at Ottawa Bluesfest. I think her playing and singing have only gotten better, though, this is just torrid.
Such an underrated talent. Deserves to be mentioned in company with the greatest.
She is not underrated !!! She is not ! Everybody knows she the real thing. Think about it.

She's too hot to be the Ice Queen. I think she could melt that frozen ground. Not to mention the smoke off of that guitar.
