Sue Foley (born March 29, 1968) is a blues singer and guitarist from Ottawa, Ontario. Foley has toured steadily with her band, toting her signature pink paisley Fender Telecaster. In 2001, Sue won the Juno Award for her CD, Love Coming Down. Foley has also earned seventeen Maple Blues Awards and three Trophees de Blues de France. She has also garnered several nominations at the International Blues Music Awards in Memphis, Tennessee. 2017 will mark Foley's return as a solo artist with her long anticipated CD, "The Ice Queen", which features guest appearances by Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top and Texas blues legend, Jimmie Vaughan.
I'm a 72 year old blues junkie from Texas....for my money, one of the best blues interpreters on the stage today.....luv the re-issued 1960's paisley Tele...play on, sister
What a face! The camera loves her!! Very photogenic! Her face is reminiscent of a Hollywood star from years ago! Totally gorgeous!! She had me hypnotized!
Sue had it from the get go...I first met her in the late '80's, back in Edmonton. She told me that it was Texas Blues, she preferred to her other guitarist's, Chicago style. A few years later, Clifford Antone invites Sue down to Austin...the rest is history. I caught her at his club, in April, '93, just after that Branch Dividian tragedy, in Waco. Jimmie was there as well, supposedly his 1st public appearance, playing a show, since Stevie's passing. The Who's Who of the Austin blues scene were on hand, including the inimitable, Junior Brown.
Sue. thank you. Back in the day when "chicks" didn't play guitar you did. hard to believe you are not from Texas with your style The only time I have seen you live was at Ft. Lauderdale Blues Fest in the early 90s. you kicked ass. blew my well tuned blues mind glad to run into you again this is some really good s**t thank you
Saw this as an ad on another video!! Had to find it!!! Haven't seen Jimmie Vaughn in a long time! And, Sue Foley, those lyrics just trickled out of your mouth so smooth and gently, but with a touch of "raw" like I've never heard before! And ,did I mention that you're "drop dead gorgeous" too? Liked, shared, and saved!!! OUTSTANDING!!!
I'm probably gonna catch some crap for this, but I think this woman deserves a better lead guitarist. She's amazing, and he's only... Meh. Just my opinion.
@@danielschaeffer1294 ....and I agree absolutely. He is playing a " period" lead that compliments Sue Foley. He is not off on his own ego trip. It was the beautiful constraint of the lead that held me watching the video when it popped up.
Agree! Saw her live and she did Jimmie V’s solo and made his pathetic “solo” on this video sound like a mama’s boy effort. She scorched the solo when she didn’t have to play second fiddle to him.
@@missiontent111 EXACTLY. A super saturated humbucking guitar tone would fit wrong here - the type of blues she's doing and the type of lead he's playing harkens back to a different time and it fits perfect.
@@aliensporebomb Comments above seem to be from people who think that you have to compete with those who share the stage with you, rather than working with them to create the best music for the listener. On a different note ...... the lady looks like TROUBLE , if ever I saw it .......!!!!!
Quintin Sarren I don't think it's that tbh. His tone feels a bit too bright for me, way to metallic sounding. He's playing some damn good classic blues licks tho but his tone needs to be a bit warmer.
Perhaps my ears aren't as refined as some. To my ears he doesn't sound like a good guitarist. But blues ain't my thing and neither are scales so perhaps he is a good one and I just don't have the knowledge to understand it.
@@QuintinSarren if you're here, it seems you're interested. Check out the Fabulous Thunderbirds (wow, maybe not a whole lot on RUclips. I'm a newbie here; I have the vinyl). There should be enough out there that you can check him out on his good nights. Look for him with Eric Clapton, good stuff there to.

Foley is smoldering and sultry, Jimmie's got that original early electric blues sound nailed.
Thank you for the BLUES! 🎸🔥🇺🇸✅
Greets from Germany.🇩🇪
Wow, thanks for putting out here, great tune and saw Jimmie Vaughn so many times while living in Austin, and Sue Foley ~ what a soulful Lady!

I could sure get lost in those Blue eyes! The tunes are equally as great
He's wearing sunglasses. Everytime I've met Jimmie Lee Vaughan he had brown eyes.

Fabulous recording!
chasing some jimmie vaughn tracks and came across this, it's made my day, hairs on my arms standing tall!!
Love that T-Bone Walker influence. At 13 I discovered Walker. You should too. Also the Jeff Beck influence - finger picking.
My favorite blues woman who I love (who flirted with me back in 1996) and my favorite blues man - pure gold here ❤ 👍
For real? Thats probably a nice and very unique experience! ahahaha now I can imagine that you truly got the blues ....
Saw Jimmy in Austin with Stevie Ray while in the military they were just local players but really good!
Jimmy Lee is just Badass
Came for the blues, stayed for the eyes :-)
Breathy, intense and atmospheric. This is one sexy song.🌷

Legendary
Is that organ player Mike Flanigan on the drums?
Jimmie harps back to the days of T Bone Walker and Sue to Bessie Smith.
Sue is in love with Jimmie V, or at the very least they're messing around. Nothing can convince me otherwise.
Nope. Her boyfriend is Mike Flanigan.
WOW
Love Sue Foley! Maybe this song could have been called Jimmy V...
Jimmie Lee is Jimmie V
No you're right. Jimmie Lee was his dad.
Elmore James had a song Anna Lee - “I want you for my own, Anna Lee.” Foley has done a gender switch.
This is my jam, it's like she's talking to me. Names Jim lea by the way 😋
james lea lucky
Are we talking about the jersey outlaw?
So sweet... lovely sexy song !!
Dude. Hammocks abounding ...
OMG. I know trouble when I see it ....... and that lady is TROUBLE
