There is something so calming about watching Mavs videos they bring so much peace I don’t know how to explain it
i have TDAH since i was a child and these adventures are the only think that makes my mind rest for a little and stop focusing on anything else. Peak lifestyle to stop worrying about anything but being cozy as fuck and enjoy nature and being alone by yourself

I like the OG Mav coming back with the travel/ camp/ fish/ hunt/ cook videos. I spent hrs watching ur channel from the beginning and they always were my favorite. I travel all over the Midwest waiting someday of crossing paths.

Fun fact, MREs are actually shelf stable for 7 years or more. It all depends on the conditions of the storage unit they are in. There have been perfectly preserved MREs from Vietnam and even WWII.

You can really tell man’s parents or dad taught him tons about the outdoors and how to handle boats, fishing gear etc… not just anyone so young will know how to set up a boat and get it going… kudos to Mac but especially the parents !!!
Thanks from Mav’s mom. His dad and I both grew up in small towns and our dad’s taught us to fish and love the outdoors. 💜 Mav’s taken that to the next level so he gets a lot of credit!

I actually prefer camping alone.. Sure it's fun with friends but I feel you really relax and enjoy yourself more because you aren't dealing with other people's wants and needs........ AND IT'S ACTUALLY QUIET
Plus... You get to say f*ck it and leave whenever you want 😂😂
There's been so many times I planned like a 3 or 4 day solo trip and get a day in and off the fish aren't biting or it's hotter/colder than balls you just say....yeaaaaaa that's a no from me dog.
And pack up and leave.. Both people feeling the trip is ruined.

Awesome! Reminds me of the days in Ohio my dad worked graveyard shift and would drop my cousin and I at Lake Milton. We were 12 and 13, would gas up the boat and spend all night casting rattle traps for muskies. Caught a lot using the figure 8! Dad left us out from 11 to 7 and would grab us on the way home from work. Some of the BEST summer nights!

Overseas we put it in a water bottle. Our water to drink was in bottles. Use 1 bottle. Part of it goes into the heater. The rest gives space for the powder and to shake. But we also started getting first strike mre. Which had chicken or tuna in a pouch. A pulled pork pocket. No heater

Those used to be called IMP's for individual meal plans, made to last for years as long as the packaging was never opened. The bread can be steamed to soften it or just heated in boiling water before opening the package. The oatmeal is probably Quaker oats. Beans could be Libby's Beans. Looks like you had fun eating the MRE.
It was a Canadien mre so ...Baxter beans...and other Canada based "delectables"...though expired?! Mav IS brave!
The beans literally say Baxters on it lol and he also says Baxters beans...
@@mmurphy2317 I never heard of Baxter brand, but then living in Northern Ontario Canada the choices can be limited. Lol! I will look it up. I have to admit that I haven't had to many IMP's in my lifetime. Of the few I had, the Mac n cheese was the worst.

My dad has caught and landed 2 muskies below the biron dam in Wisconsin on 5lb test and a Mr. Twister! One is a 52 inch clear musky (no stripes). Took him and my brother about 2 hours to land...someday I will send you a picture of the gorgeous mount he has it on. It's got the original lure in it's mouth, seaweed and water drops on all the line and seaweed. Its mounted on a 5 foot piece of driftwood he found below the dam as well! Seriously gorgeous!

I can’t stress enough how much you need to head to Yellowknife in the Canadian Northwest Territories to go fishing. Biggest trophy fish you’ll ever see in those deep cold waters. Greyling, trout, whitefish, pike. You’d have so much fun🥰

I've been trying to catch a musky so bad in northern Ontario ! 50 hours of casting big bait in July 2022 and not a single one ! But a 29 inch walleye took it haha.
Now i'm back in France and it's a little bit hard but fortunately i live in a "preserved" place.

Mav, I was kinda close by you just this past week. I was up in Minocqua Wisconsin doing some muskie fishing and staying in a cabin for a family vacation. Love your videos man, your boating and cooking videos are the best!

Sweet upgrade on those tie-downs. So nice to have equipment you don't have to struggle with, especially after a long day fishing and the mosquitoes are biting and all you want to do is get the boat on the trailer and go.

Mav, would love to see you try backcountry camping in Ontario. I recommend you check out Algonquin Park, Kawaratha Highlands or Killarney all great spots if your interested.

You should fish lac de millac in Ontario Canada, big lake with lots of islands to camp on and explore, no muskys but really good northern and walleye

U.S. Army here. I personally would never use the canteen the Army gives us. I always use the pouch to drink the milkshake/protein shake. If I have my personal water bottle, I use that sometimes for the drink mix. But if not, then I’ll just drink that out of the bag too. I’ve watched guys pee in the canteen and then turn it back into CIF (Central Issue Facility, where we get issued our gear) so I have never used my canteen 😂😂
Then don’t go to fast food places or restaurants as they would really freak you out ( 23 yrs retired E-8, combat arms ,airborne)

I will never forget my first muskie catch, It was a Tiger Muskie. I was 12 years old, wow almost 50 years ago, dang I am getting old. Anyway my uncle to me out on Lake Lansing in Michigan and the very first fish I ever catch in my life was a Muskie and it was about 26 inches and put up one heck of a fight for a small 12 year old. I was hooked! Thanks Mav!

I'm sure you are a great swimmer and you are perhaps a water sign, just like me, but my uncle who wasn't even 50 years old yet, fell from a boat and drowned at Truman lake in Missouri and he was the BEST swimmer..... he actually was in the Navy.
The boat was going too fast and they think they were kind of horsing around and he fell out and they were sure he hit his head because he never surfaced. Autopsy reports indicated he did have a head injury.
He was a real tall lanky guy and he sunk like a rock.
If he would have just fell in, of coarse he would have been swimming waiting for the boat to come back to get him.
Anyway I know you are a super safe guy, you're a strong swimmer I'm sure but you just never know what could happen with other goofballs out on the lake or something coming out of the sky and hitting you in the head out of nowhere.. who knows?
Like I said, it's the Mom in me and I used to go kayaking without a life jacket, but I don't anymore cuz I get a little freaked out thinkin about my Uncle.
