I went to two gun smiths and they both claimed that a Channel liner was already installed in this exact slide that I purchased from brownells. I was confused because brownells website says you need to install one. In this video he doesn't install a channel liner. When you look down in the slide you can see a lip that looks like a channel liner is already in place. I guess i'll figure out if it's needed or not when I test fire it this weekend.
Range report please. Did it function properly? I took it to my local gunsmith and he said the same thing. But when I called Brownells they said that one needed to be installed.
I was wondering the same thing and I had some issues putting mine together when I put one in there and I looked down in there it looks like there might be one inside the Brownell slides
in the case you cannot get the back slide plate on due to the firing block/pin spacer sleeve not being flush.. i would say get an alluminum back plate, do what he says except when you get to the point that the spacer sleeve is bending or crushing from the plate do what he does and once the plate is up to the extractor plunger, press that with a screw driver and start tapping the plate until the extractor plunger is under the plate... if your plate still wont go 100% flush your going to need to bang the plate against wood, a work bench or stool will do. now the last thing you need to do to prevent misfires is to get a flat head screwdriver and put in the notches on the bottom of the slide plate and bang it with a hammer.... after shooting the gun a bunch of times the spring will loosen and every subsequent take down and reassembly will be easier. im not a gun smith but with polymer 80's its really up to you to do what works for you. im new to this and these videos never cover any difficulties you may come across because it makes any youtuber look incompetant on film.. i will be the first to admit, i am incompetent and by no means an expert. what you do with your build is up to you. i just made mine work with force. this is why alluminum or metal back slide plate cover is a must... hulk smash!
Slow down, take the time to show the parts. This was just a race to see how fast you could put it together. Totally useless for the first time assembler.
I put together a p80 last night for the first time wasn't to bad thank god i'm a mechanic note to first time builders the compact p80 comes w full size parts so yeah i had some left overs....... Instructions w the kit would have been helpful just found this video.😒
Was the liner sleeve already installed on the slide? How so you tell if there was already one. Brownells said no there isn’t one but I have had many people say that there is already one in there is why I cant push on at her one in.
I think that the channel liner was milled in the steel itself. Firing pin assmbly fits like a glove. Destroyed my channel liner trying to put in. Looked with a light and you can notice a edge or lip where the channel liner is supposed to be. Just going to assemble and test
So do we need a channel liner on brownells branded slides or not? You didn’t install one in this video. It must be an optional thing for commiefornians
channel liner please, people could damage the firearm, hurt themselves, or fail to fire when they need it most.
Why didn't you put the white striker channel liner in?

These guys at Brownell's are idiots.
Wouldn't the channel liner be a good start??

...only missed about 5 steps...????????????....
So I assume this slide came with the channel liner?!?
This does not.
So what do I win for pointing out that error?!? Lol!
I would expect nothing as that guy in the video is really arrogant in real life. He screwed up and all you can expect is silence.
@@jqmachgunner2577 1 year later this video still hasnt been corrected...

Totally agree. He mentioned 3 parts at once with no instructions as to how they are assembled before putting them into the slide
Yeah, showing a fully assembled striker assembly and such isn't going to help someone who has a bag of Glock slide parts to assemble... Haha!

@@carpentarhartley8624 Sir, do the slide's parts come in, "Upper parts kit"s or are they bought singularly?
Channel Liner???
This guys know his stuff like a pro and has a really relaxing voice I understood every procedure and I'm a beginner thanks 👍
Congratulations you assembled your *slide* incorrectly.... hope that gun isnt for self defense.
Corrected Per Jose Velazquez
@@Rob_Nasty lower ?? it's for a slide bro
@@josevelazquez-db7qn i corrected it just for you.
@@Rob_Nasty thanks I feel appreciated

You forgot the channel liner
How are people like their brownells slide parts kit? Not seeing much reviews of it.
How would you remove a glock 19 slide that is stuck? It slides, racks, but it won't come off.
No blue thread-locker on sight/RMR screws? And $300.00 for the MGW sight tool? You must be kidding!
amazing... step one, hides the plunger so you cant see how it goes in. wtf
You are missing lots of details for this assembly! Not a complete how to.
Why would the f.p.a be difficult to go in?
Terrible! What about the plastic striker liner? Really disappointing video from Brownells

How did it go?
@Dave Hanson %110 confirmed dead...
Awesome
Slide not assemble nor frame I put the slide on to check the The channel now the slide is stuck help
This guide told me diddly squat. It left out a bunch of steps. Please revise this guide.
what kind of rifling is in the buy build shoot kit barrels?..are they conventional or polygonal?
How much was that build
He doesn't even know the name of the firing pin spacer sleeve.
what sights did you use with this build?
Pretty sure these were Trijicon suppressor height night sights
Your missing the channel liner!!! Fail**
This video is terrible! He skips several steps along the way. Watching this actually does more harm than good.
Newbies don’t watch this its crap
