  • Templestowe hillclimb was spectacular, and is still mostly there today.

I was just a young kid when I went with Dad to a hill climb event at Templstowe, will always remember the brake shoes at the start line and people who lined the track all the way round. Gee all the great things in life were simple as was motorsport but it was a great track. Thanks Bill Cheers.

As an 17 and 18 year old I would do flagging on the corners and then competed with my XK120 quite a car for a 19 year old kid!

Great stuff. Seem to remember watching this track on Melbournes channel 0 TV in the suxties. Lakeland Park was the usual Hillclimb they covered outside the VFA football season.
About half way through I was going to paste a link to the Kenra films at the ACMI but you found them.
Quite a few others also on RUclips, so searching for Templestowe Hillclimb will reward.

Perhaps it is Harry Firth in the MG Holden , but he did not own it in 1955!
