Kaz I've said this from day 1, you and others like you, Chuck, Dirty Tesla etc are a Gold source for testing and edge cases with your mileage and genuine interest in making the FSD better! Hope Tesla listen !!! Top customer service BTW! Thanks for continuing to share your experiences, drive safely (almost impossible not to with FSD 😁) I'd have added you to the ADAS team by now tbh - they must be collecting your data and using it - with the Cortex coming fully online soon, I believe we will see step changes in performance!
@@davec2211 I appreciate it greatly and just want to do what I can to help this kick ass tech. I’m sure the team is way ahead of me on this but figured hey I’ll just put it out there anyways on the off chance that they haven’t.
Tesla's maps are really old and it is truly affecting routes for me as well as a Tesla driver on Uber. There are plenty of times it wants to avoid a very short road to go all the way around something else. Or it even wants me to drive through a store parking lot versus the road right next to it
One of my biggest issues is on highway entrances/exits, where leaving the highway (70mph zone) and onto an exit (60mph zone) it'll dramatically slow down to 60, then show the speed limit signs as 55>65>55>70 & then it decides to speed up and down until it sees another car to base speed off of. A lot of the navigational issues I had previously have been fixed-- except one. Example is a Store with two entrances, one on the left and one on the right, but also one in the middle (with a gas station or something similar.) FSD loves to take the middle option in my area, which is a full left across flowing traffic (and getting stuck forever unless it makes an unsafe dive) instead of going .2 miles down the road for a traffic light.
I’ve been having a lot of issues with the car, trying to slow down excessively, when going through green lights. Have you experienced the same? 2020 Tesla model three Hardware 3 12.5.4.2
To be fair, receiving conflicting navigation routes from one system to the next is pretty common. I'd be curious to know where your phone map data came from. Does it access more localized data for more accurate mapping/routing vs the Tesla? Does Tesla use general mapping/navigation via google? I think Tesla does use google. I know some mapping/navigation apps have options to streamline the process.... omit this or omit that. I've not tried to look into my Tesla and see if there are map setting to adjust like my old google navigation with Android. I might go poke around now. Thanks for the video.
You seem to be having better luck with 12.5.4.2 than I am. I downloaded it to my 2019 model 3 with HW 3 last weekend. It keeps breaking at green lights. I enjoyed the video.
It’s definitely got me covering far more distance on FSD for sure. Probably because I have to work more to make the same money I had in California haha. Earnings are lower here in comparison which is unfortunate but still doable.
12.5.4.2 has been awful for me. Im to the point where im considering unsubscribing until they figure out hw3 (I don’t think it’ll happen). I’d rather save the money to upgrade the hardware in the future. Since I can’t afford paying 8k for FSD in the hope they will upgrade the hardware “free of charge”. It will be a logistical nightmare when that day comes. Millions of cars that need upgraded for already busy and slow service centers. I love my car but I don’t see how this is going to work out.
12.5.4 and 12.5.4.1 have been horrible here on HW3. It stops way in front of stop signs (which is normal) but instead of creeping forward to check for cross traffic, it just accelerates into the intersection!
They better fix it, like in yesterday. I ranted about the Nav for a long time but who am I anyway. First of all a good nav will get you from point A to point B in the most efficient way and secondly, Tesla can hookup things like the speed limits so that FSD knows from the get go how fast it should ride (according to the driver preferences )
"Please share this with Tesla.." Are you saying that Tesla maintains NO channel for customer feedback other than the "schedule a repair" feature in their phone app?
@@CYBRLFT No; it's just an inference that I probably mistakenly made as to why you would expect that appealing to your audience would be as or more effective than appealing directly to Tesla.
@ well I mean. Smart summon is how you summon one. No need for a pickup point. Just ur phone. For places like Disney who might use them to shuttle people to and from lots and stuff, it can be solved the same way as the event.
Glad they use the Tesla cars now like the google streetview cars to fix that. They had some troubles whit the compute power but that goth fixed already
Sadly, not good on auto summon. It does not work well at all with yellow painted large speed bumps. My 2024 simply stops before it. Embarrassing to say the least.
Thank you for your dedication. From a long-term investor of Tesla, this is something NO other tech company has as dedicated and committed to the cause!!! Loved it!
I was just thinkinking that after watching these videos fsd used to ask you to apply force on wheel all the time and now it's only very ocasional. Can't wait to see program replace people and our silly mistakes that are sometimes tragic. Can't wait for future, it looks so exciting!
More recent versions of FSD use the interior camera. If it can see that you are looking at the road, you don't get the nag. This even works with sun glasses.
You make some really good points and I agree that navigation has been and continues to be a big problem for FSD. I actually feel TESLA is well aware of the navigation issues and has just prioritized them lower and has been focused on driving safety and implementation of the End-to-End neural-net architecture. The improvements TESLA has made to FSD over the past 6-month has been huge. Once the 'driving' part of has an acceptable intervention-level TESLA will focus on improving the navigation and path-planner.
That’s so cute. He thinks full self driving is real. I mean if doesn’t work with rain, fog, snow, sun, cars blocking cameras or when it just bugs out for no reason. It’s not like it needs those pesky lidar and radar sensors that those other simps have, just some cheap cameras becuase telsa doesn’t skimp on the manufacturing. Please be sure to buy more Tesla stock and put down on this robo taxis coming out next year! You’re going to be rich!

you should put a screen in the back that shows the view of your steering wheel to the riders.
That would be interesting hahah.
I just got a Navagation update 17 mins ago for my v12.5.4.2
You inspired me to do this in Houston. Getting a model 3 performance and signing up for uber.
Mine did the same thing where it wants to go down a road then to turn round. The issue was, it is a one way road 😭
