It's currently December 5th at 2:04am. I've been watching these FSD v13 videos so intently lately. Working hard in school and my profession. I will own this car next year.
Just be sure that you buy a Tesla with V4 hardware, and not an older one with V3. The 12.x software on my 2018 M3 is an absolute disaster, and who knows if/when Tesla will produce a V13 release of FSD for V3 hardware! It does not always pay to be an early adopter.
I don’t think it’s actually the forward collision warning as much as it wanting to alert you that something needs attention. It happens in scenarios like pushing it through a very late yellow light or when they think a pedestrian may do something unexpected.
One thing I always think about watching these is that these areas probably have close to the best training data coverage anywhere, making it easier for fsd to be confident and correct. If it seems like it gets "too good", you could theoretically do a comparison with a less tesla dense area, though I guess that would require a lot of effort on your part
We do need more geographically diverse youtubers. But it takes time. I drive with FSD every day in a completely different part of the country...but not about to make a channel.
9:15 because the cameras stand higher than our own eyes and can see above the car in front. I am really happy to see the car moving left/right *inside* its own lane. Here in France we have a "motorbike lane" between the last two left lanes where cars usually stand closer to either left or right side of their own lane to ease motorbike traffic. Can't wait for it to come here!
The thing is man. When a Waymo gets to a dead end like at the start of ur stress test, it calls home for help. Tesla just fucking did it. On the first release of a new build.
Waymo does it as well on its own. Sometimes it needs to call home and be given a go. Every decision happens onboard the car, no remote assistant drives the thing.

U da bomb. 100% I'm happy HW4 is improving. I'd prefer I wasn't forgotten in my HW3, but reducing overall car accidents is much higher priority than my personal wallet.
Forgotten is not the word. They are still working on optimizing it for HW3, as far as we know. And, as Elon said, if they can't, they will upgrade us for free (when is another question).
I literally just saw and shared someone posted their FSD flashing the "takeover immediately" warning due to direct sunlight, but here you are with this video showing how much improvement and mind-blowing maneuvers the car did by itself is absolutely crazy!
This is an intervention I have once a week. Sun glare just gets it. Its hard for humans too but we use context but to slow down and continue for a little while carefully.
This is so awesome. I can't wait to see how V13 works in my area of Texas. Especially with the speed profiles on city streets. I'm so excited for the parking lot improvements too, and the utter smoothness of the steering wheel. Thanks for the video, AI DRIVR!!
Hopefully one day! I work as a delivery driver, and I wouldn't have handled that incoming car as smoothly either. I'm thankful the other car was paying attention though, and that the car has cameras recording because the other car might cause a collision if getting that close. Which even if it were not the Tesla's fault, you just know they will blame the FSD and try and claim their insurance
I am watching these FSD influencers for years now, but there is something in your edits and narratives that still keeps me hooked and watch most of your videos in whole. You're my favorite FSD channel and its because you really put it through its paces, find the interesting edge cases (good or bad), and get a feel for its personality.
from what ive read, he said it during an earnings call, and qualified the promise of free upgrades with the condition that TESLA DETERMINES unsupervised self driving to be infeasible with hw3. how long will they take to decide that? what about all the people with hw3 who are actively paying or have paid in full for fsd in the meantime? im not optimistic

Sorry, but if it does roll a stop sign, the NHTSA or NTSB will be hard on Tesla's behind. They already told them before rolling a stop sign like a human would is not an option for a machine. So, getting to zero is mandatory.
I think the future of this channel is still extremely safe, even better than ever! Now that FSD got this good on normal average drives I think it's time to start testing the actual weird edge cases and scenarios! Create a vast diversified set of tests you can perform, I have not seen many doing this, test everything that happens rarely but that is really important in my opinion, you could start simple by using empty or closed roads to test FSD with a piece of small foam in the middle or the road, try cardboard, try making the foam seem like a brick visually, find out if FSD stops when if shouldn't (like a small piece of cardboard or some small branches, a deflated plastic bag, [...]) and if FSD continues when it absolutely should have not (filled plastic bags, brick like foam, objects that have unknown "solidness"), could even test how a thick mud layers on some sensors changes things, fake signs, there is sooo much to test! Would love to see more of this!
No. This is not yet "unsuppervised". That is still some year away, even if you accept Elon's optimistic schedule, he said "buy 2027", I think. But really we might expect it in 2030. I SERIOUSLY doubt Tesla will release "unsupervised" before it is ready and very well tested. Why? Because Tessle would be liable for any accident if there was no driver. Tesla would get the traffic tickets, and Tesla's license would be revoked if there were many crashes. In other words when they say "unsupervised" they then assume all risk. So I think 2030 at least, even if it might technically work in 2027 That said, I agree, this will be wonderful for older people and kids with really rich parents. (Now to figure out how to install a wheelchair lift in a Model Y.)

It is such a precious moment to witness them get introduced to the future. Thanks again!
Great video! re: the freeway clip, this also happens with trucks on highways! It sways to the furthest it can on its lane to give trucks/semis all the room possible. It's been happening throughout 12.5 for me--don't have 13 yet. Keep up the good work!!
For a large % of drivers, FSD totally would make the car more safe on the road already! People just have to be ready to accept that and let the car drive.
yo... are you considering trying it out somewhere else? because it is more than possible that tesla makes special effort to prioritize the road you usualy test on
Please test some limited visibility stop signs. My hardware 3 model 3 on 12.5.4.2 comes to a NHTSA stop then slow rolls into the intersection without any creeping every single time. The double stop was annoying, but at least it was safe.
Seeing it going from only 6mph to hitting 30mph is a huge step up and im not particularly a fan of Tesla but this is incredible. As always great content keep it up
Fantastic video. The many clips from you, Chuck and Dirty T have been making me legit watch with an open-mouth smile these few days. FSD just LEAPS over its previous version every time! The main things we’re left to count are the days of Tesla not rolling this out to absolutely everyone on AI4 in the US and days of not porting it to AI3.
So, the tesla moving to give space to the other vehicle when it comes too close at 8:21 is something that I have noticed too on the Golden Gate Bridge. Tesa definitely gives room to the other car. Noticed it on v12.5. Pretty cool feature!
Wow. FSD is getting super close to wide spread public adoption levels of capability. Here's my million dollar question: Tesla should start a new segment of business to business where they sell their FSD software and help other auto manufacturers get the right camera/sensor suite to do it in theirs. It won't be profitable for every company play catch up since Tesla has the most data and AI training in the world at this point.
There are a number of Chinese companies that already have robot taxis in operation. So if a new company wanted to buy FSD software they would have options. They would look at the cost. My feeling is Tesla might get greedy like it just did with API access fees. Telsa will find some competition. And worse, over time the value of the software will decline as the software becomes a commodity item with ZERO manufacturing cost. Kind of like trying to make money by selling web browsers. You can sell them at first but only for a few years until the competition lowers the price.
THE v13 video I have been waiting for. Thanks for taking your time on it to make it great 👌 maybe while waiting for the next version to drop it’d be fun to do a retrospective video and compare some of those same streets on 10/11/12/13.2 to see the change over the last couple of years!
I love having the option to choose a driving profile now. The aggressive or hurry mode is my favorite and mirrors my driving style more closely LOL. Like, the fact that it will automatically switch in and out of lanes to get around slow drivers is awesome.
Cancelled my FSD after seeing this because I'm on HW3 and if I'm not getting updates anymore or there's no real plan for it, what's the point of paying for an inferior product at the same price.

Ive had mine self park and hit the top of a parking cover.
Listen, my friend, you cannot stop creating these videos, do you understand? The content is excellent, your commentary is engaging, and most importantly, when I have difficulty sleeping, watching these videos actually helps me fall asleep.
Thank you for that, by the way
Well said.
The best overlay and commentary. Cheers JD!!
You can clearly see that's a better lens, that focal length looks very nice, contrast is better. And the transitions are sick 14:55 , very satisficing. Also love your nerd-thusiasm!
appreciate you noticing! I had a few settings adjusted wrong and a lot of this video is overexposed, but next time I’ll do better
thank you 🙏
You are by far the best FSD tester on youTube. Thanks so much for all your hard work!
@@aguyfromnotheredo it lol

I am really happy to see the car moving left/right *inside* its own lane. Here in France we have a "motorbike lane" between the last two left lanes where cars usually stand closer to either left or right side of their own lane to ease motorbike traffic. Can't wait for it to come here!

Weeps in European with HW3
@@ervin9805 camera retrofit is not possible , but the inference computer they said can be upgraded to HW4 if needed.
Don't count HW3 out yet. This might very well be optimized and backported.
Experiencing it now as well, absolutely amazing. Great video. Excellent test.
@@ArielChelsau I understand that. But this car did not ask for help. This car just did it.
@@markfrantz4612 Right, that's true in this case. I would be curious if this behaviour is consistent. End-to-end AI models tend to be erratic.
@@ArielChelsau amazing how some people don’t get the “only” essential point of end-to-end. It’s a flywheel. It is a guarantee of consistency at bare minimum. You literally can watch this happen with all these videos posted. Why do you think every company breaking the bank for more gpu. Are you willingly blind?
What? Did you read what I said? All end to end systems exhibit this property, that they're inconsistent. Try with Chatgpt, see about Tesla FSD for yourself, it's certainly *not* a guarantee for consistency.
I work with such systems daily and built one as well.
I will never understand why the US has stop signs at roundabouts.
American road plans are so bad. The whole 'block' system is so old and crap. I've watched multiple videos regarding FSD13 and the road planning is what catched my eye the most.
@@Fanaleds-software No just Americans, most city planners should have a mandatory stay in the Netherlands. One week just public transport, one week biking and one week driving. And you get a free ice cream if you spot a stop sign at a roundabout. It is not magical and perfect, but they have changed around so much, from a starting point that looked very American by European standards in the 1980s.
The layouts of dense small countries do not necessarily translate to a giant spread out country.
@@aguyfromnothere True. It is much more difficult in dense areas. All the more reason to visit a densely populated country. The size of the country is 100% irrelevant. Just look at a state or a county when you are comparing if it makes you more comfortable. Many counties in the USA are tiny compared to Europe as a continent. It doesn't matter.
U da bomb. 100%
I'm happy HW4 is improving.
@@catbert7 Tru dat. Yeaboi!!!
I literally just saw and shared someone posted their FSD flashing the "takeover immediately" warning due to direct sunlight, but here you are with this video showing how much improvement and mind-blowing maneuvers the car did by itself is absolutely crazy!
I live in south Florida, and I too have never gotten the “take over immediately” warning when the sun is out and shinning.
Cook?
The best FSD videos.
I am watching these FSD influencers for years now, but there is something in your edits and narratives that still keeps me hooked and watch most of your videos in whole. I definitely can't tell that about the FSD videos from other creators ;)
Hope you'll find another topic to create videos from once FSD is solved! ✌🏻

I haven't watched your videos for a while. I can't remember why I stopped but this is probably the best FSD video I have seen. Great editing and flow.

7:15 "first version that is going to be widely used" - but the majority of tesla vehicles on the road are hw3...
this. i’m interested if Tesla will honor a free HW3 to HW4 or HW5 upgrade. Elon said they would, but he’s said a lot of things.
from what ive read, he said it during an earnings call, and qualified the promise of free upgrades with the condition that TESLA DETERMINES unsupervised self driving to be infeasible with hw3. how long will they take to decide that? what about all the people with hw3 who are actively paying or have paid in full for fsd in the meantime? im not optimistic
@@1openborder I hope so because HW3 was what you got until Jan 2023, which was when they implimented HW4. People with 2022 cars, which is not old, may not be able to get FSD 13 and I would be PISSED if I was one of those people!

we living in the future with this one
Should have had a “smooth” and “buttery” counter 😂
Thanks as always for your uploads!

@ I don’t think you’d want my father-in-law behind the wheel of a supervised FSD with your children on the road.
So I think 2030 at least, even if it might technically work in 2027
That said, I agree, this will be wonderful for older people and kids with really rich parents. (Now to figure out how to install a wheelchair lift in a Model Y.)
V13 is incredible...
Just downloaded 13 on a road trip from California to Texas - WOW !
I love watching your vids as soon as I see news about a new V of FSD.
Sadly in Europe we have a nerfed version of FSD :((
I think it is just the Autopilot from years ago. Lightly reskinned.
Hey, great video! I gave you a like to help you get that house you fell in love with. 😂😂😂. This video does hurt a bit to watch - I feel like a kid at Christmas time looking in a department store window at all the toys I desperately need. I can’t wait to get it released to my Cybertruck. I get such a kick out of giving newbies test drives with FSD engaged without them knowing and it comes to a point when they realize that I’m not driving. It is such a precious moment to witness them get introduced to the future. Thanks again!
I always appreciate your perspective and overall videos man!
This is the most bullish thing I've seen this year for long term TSLA investors.
I really enjoy that you do your commentary after the drive, instead of while driving.
yo... are you considering trying it out somewhere else? because it is more than possible that tesla makes special effort to prioritize the road you usualy test on

Please test some limited visibility stop signs. My hardware 3 model 3 on 12.5.4.2 comes to a NHTSA stop then slow rolls into the intersection without any creeping every single time. The double stop was annoying, but at least it was safe.

It really is, isn't it?
Fantastic video. The many clips from you, Chuck and Dirty T have been making me legit watch with an open-mouth smile these few days. FSD just LEAPS over its previous version every time! The main things we’re left to count are the days of Tesla not rolling this out to absolutely everyone on AI4 in the US and days of not porting it to AI3.
Waymo in shambles after AI Drivr’s video
Elon has mentioned they have already discussed with another OEM
There are a number of Chinese companies that already have robot taxis in operation. So if a new company wanted to buy FSD software they would have options. They would look at the cost. My feeling is Tesla might get greedy like it just did with API access fees. Telsa will find some competition. And worse, over time the value of the software will decline as the software becomes a commodity item with ZERO manufacturing cost. Kind of like trying to make money by selling web browsers. You can sell them at first but only for a few years until the competition lowers the price.
Truly incredible work by the Tesla team
