Expanding the budget for fridge freezers in the tent definitely reduced the chance of drama 😀
I love how these contestants cheer each other on, help each other and are kind. I get so tired of the cutthroat idiots on the American shows, and yes, I am American.
Nancy will always have a place in my heart. She is one of my best friend’s grandmother and every time I have met her she is the sweetest person. (also her cakes where so bloody good)
Nadiya at #1 is absolutely deserved! Her kindheartedness, brilliance, and antics made her a pleasure to watch. Also, not everyone can make Mary Berry choke up!
RIP Luis--I miss him so much. He was one of my favourite bakers, and I was deeply saddened by his passing.

I adore GBBO. I also hate that Bingate is still a thing. Diana did not do that on purpose; it was an accident. And as Ashley points out, Iain’s ice cream was out for less than a minute. Thank you Ashley as this was the first time I’ve ever heard this part of the controversy acknowledged. Diana was bullied horribly for this whole thing for the remainder of her life.
I really didn't like Iain- that moment infuriated me, Diana was so nice, how dare he?!

Yeah, people were horrendous to her.
Paul also explained that without editing, you would have seen he created the ice cream wrong. It never would have set, and if I remember correctly, it was also a remake. Then, he threw it away. He probably would have moved on has he not thrown a tantrum and let the cake stay out

Cathryn not being included is a crime. Her flying dough roll and reaction is classic. We no longer see this in the USA because of the move away from the BBC. I miss it.

I will always be grateful that the producers and editors were so respectful to Nadyia through her anxiety issues in the tent. They could have made a real fool of her for "entertainment value," and they didn't. Instead she was able to flourish and grow. She's a true treasure, and I cried like a baby when she won the season :)

Season 9 just had to be the best for the cast and drama, half the stuff i remember in TGBBO is mostly from season 9. Memorable season i grew up with.
Season 8, 9, 5 and 13 are the only seasons i remember well. Season 4 all i remembered was the cake being thrown away

I agree. Paul always plays favorites and because Jürgen was so good from the beginning he was judged the harshest. Chig’s created purple apples yet Jürgen gets criticized for his boats being plain? Bullshit
Pru called his flavours sensational, he got 1st in Technical and the only thing wrong in his showstopper was "plain boats". He could have easily won if he'd made the final, I hope to see him in more though !

For me, it wasn't so much Nadiya's winning speech which moved me, as much as her husband's heart-moving words to her! As someone of Indian descent, it truly is rare to see a man say such beautiful words to his wife! 😍❤

Maybe I'm not as much a fan as I thought because I didn't even remember that a thing called "custardgate" happened until I watched this. It wasn't as "unforgettable" as the presenters think it is- maybe because the reaction of everyone involved was so low-key? It was an honest mistake, things happen.
my nerves are on edge through whole...but I love to watch. I cry through show...I use to bake wedding, birthday etc cakes

I’m so confused as to why they don’t put portable air conditioners in these tents. We have when warranted and one can cool down a tent holding 50 people. Or they should just change to a climate controlled kitchen.
My God.. What is with all the sharing of small freezer and cooler space? Could they not afford enough freezer and cooler space, especially for cooling the custard, and when they knew they were asking for a Baked Alaska? Also, do these tents not have any air conditioning or at least fans?
Why release this now and not by the end of the current series? Surely there's a chance you'll miss another 'iconic' moment or two?

Why does this show - and apparently most of the UK - use such tiny fridge/freezers? In America ours are 29-30" wide and a total of 18ish cubic feet. We could store twice what those little units in the tent do.

Why THE H*** do you make a "best of" clips show for a show that I can't watch easily? I got hooked using a horrible pirating website that gave my computer viruses; then I signed up for Britbox thinking it would have it but no. Now I am HOOKED on sugery, lovely delicious GBBO and you give me less than an amuse-bouche . I want full episodes!!!!

What about the huge controversy where it comes to light that Paul had an affair with a contestant - who went on to win? I hate that season
Are you talking about Candice who was papped being “kissed” by Paul at an unfortunate angle which was merely a peck on the cheek? Complete conjecture and nonsense made up by story-hungry vultures in the media I’m afraid. Same with poor Ruby Tandoh who was accused of flirting with Paul only to come out as a lesbian and rally back at the sexism she faced post-series.
Paul DID have an affair with the co-presenter of the American Bake Off, Marcela Valladolid, but luckily she didn’t win anything other than her own share of contempt.

When Raul won the season, I realized that GBBO was a RIGGED show. Raul couldn't bake his as$ out of a paper bag, but Prue and Paul gave the win to a LOSER baker.

I remember the time when grown men such as Brunel and Stevenson made Britain Great by way of great engineering projects. What a dismal time we live in to now see grown men getting paid to bake a cake. Sad times we live in🥺
