I love how Cecily wasn't sure which English accent to use, so she just went with all of them.
John, Paul, George, AND Ringo!
@@natureandphysics403 😂😂😂
100th like
She started sounding Scottish at one point hahaha
Those two are totally from stoke on Trent lmao
*"You're watching PBS you little smarty you!"* 😄
2019 “Respect and dignity.” Furthermore: (“Respect and dignity!”)
😂🤣
This is the funniest part of this entire episode.
Got me right off the bat 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lmao. They're the same people who only post articles from NPR and WSJ on fb
the way kate mckinnons face looked when they dropped the cake. You know that wasn't suppose to happen l ol
This sketch broke her haha
3:01 Captures this perfectly, lol
She was definitely hoping to eat some of that shit later.
They should had let it happen lol
She's never funny
Melissa looks so much like Sue it’s uncanny.
That’s what I was thinking. Had to do a double take
And twice as funny.
@5 44 Sue Perkins
honestly i had to pause and do a double take. even her voice is spot on
I thought that was Rachel Maddow in the skit.
"We wanted to be on big brother but we couldn't pass the psychological exam"

How did Gemma Collins manage it.
@@bmc9504 LOL RIGHT?
Big Brother has a psychological exam?
That means their REALLY messed up
Coming from someone who grew up in a rough part of Britain I can say I definitely know these 2 girls😂
Omg same
Rough part of Britain....England??
😂😂
We all know those 2 girls and I'm not even British
@@rochester212 probably specifically London, Manchester, Liverpool, drumchapel, paisley etc.
I'm so accustomed to Kate McKinnon being the zaniest person in the room that it's weird to see a skit with not one, but two people acting wackier than her.
More like 7 people.
"Paul Hollywood's a right tosser but I'd still let him ice me buns" deserves way more credit than the audience gave it.
Agreed but it probably went by them without understanding what she said. On the first watch, as a Yank, I didn't understand half of what they were saying. This skit got funnier after a couple of viewing once I was picking up what they were saying.
I’m sure Trixie Mattel would say the same thing.
I feel like the requirement to get on big brother is to fail a psychiatric exam 😂
And be annoying af + whiny + hot + idiot + make me want to strangle them = perfect big brother contestant
So why did Brielle and Paisley not get on?
You're thinking of Love Island. 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Cecily's accent was everywhere, I love it
Yep started off sounding a bit scouse and then went everywhere but Liverpool
For me it was her mannerisms and overall look, from the gym chewing, the short skirt, the boots, the in yer face attitude. Brilliant. I have met girls like this in Ireland. Brash and brazen. "Suck on that!"
It ended up in Belfast I think.
@@michaelburke5907 been to Ballymoney and Henrytown, I see
She really was.. is. Love it too!
I love Kate’s face when she drops the cake
Ikr lol
I was hoping for an ending of them throwing their candy cake in kate mckinnons face. With how posh and tidy she looked I thought there were setting her up for having cakes thrown at her. A bit disappointed honestly
"And I drank hand sanitizer"
That didn't age well.
It did if you're from anywhere in Canada that's not Regina haha
Why?

People keep forgetting Emily Blunt IS British!
Laur L yeah but she's not northern
there are countless different types of british accents - just because she may have one of them doesn't mean she can master them all so it's still very impressive that her northern accent is so good!
Laur L here is the way I have had it described. The British isles have many different regional accents and its not like they are widely distributed. It would be like you could tell the difference between a Dallas and a Fort Worth accent because they would be very distinctive.
Cliff Hartle if you can tell the difference between a dallas and a ft worth accent.....
Joseph Foreman that's the way it was described. But I think I worded it wrong. It would be like Dallas and Fort Worth had 2 distinct accents.
KATES FACE WHEN THE CAKE FELL
LOL!! I hadn't noticed but just went back and watched it. She's such a pro, even when the focus isn't on her. Big talent.
Kudos she didn't lose it but it was close
No doubt. Kate can make you laugh just with her expressions
When???
@@syvall 2:58
The most unrealistic part of this is Paul actually liking the first two cakes
love how her accent goes from scouse to yorkshire to northern irish back and forth hahahaha
I hear some Aussie accent in there too. Brilliant!!!
Americans: this is the worst thing I've ever seen
Australian/bristish: think they captured that one correctly. It's art.
Why australian? U think that accent was used??
I think the British hate this video as well tbh
honey colak-antic there’s no racism in your sentence?
I’m American and I thought this was fucking hilarious wdym
Nobody’s doing ‘Australian’ though..?😂
"And I drank hand sanitizer" sounds like my local hospital.
Scunny Girl where do you live??

Scunny Girl Well If I’m ever in England, I now know what hospitals to stay away from...
@@JWex-jy7sk The correct answer is all of them if you can. Best of health to you.
aged well didn't it
Finally Americans realise all British people don’t sound like Mary Poppins. 😂
And yet still trying hard too when doing Sothern English accents.
And yet I watched something on TV just the other day, and an English woman speaking perfectly normal acceptable English but in a Northern English accent had subtitles underneath for Americans, as it was an American TV show, it wasn't even a strong accent either. Poor little lamb's gawd help em if Americans ever got lost in the real Britain with our millions of accents and dialects.
Alison Smith lmao can you identify every American accent?
@@Emcostanza Nope, but you seem to have a few, but not as many it seems as the UK, I love my accent, but I bet you would find it hard to understand me even though I'm speaking English and live in England.
@@alisonsmith4801 You are right in my case! I’ve been watching the Great British Bakeoff (which I love😊) & when someone speaks very fast, I miss probably 90% of the conversation! I live in the Southern US & we speak much slower although I don’t have that Southern drawl. Even people from the East coast- New York city, New Jersey, Boston- are difficult to understand when they speak fast. And let’s not even talk about Scotland!!
“I’m so nervous I’m shaking in me wellies”😂 English accent on point
Actually not really, that wasn't that Surrey
No it wasn't. He's a funny actor that guy. ANd the accent wasn't accurate really. ( I'm English)
On point of what, some American actor who thinks that how English people speak.
Tamia Mzenda It’s really not
well it was good for northern england but they said he was from surrey which is southern and not like what he sounded like at all
2:59 Kate drops the cake and panics hahaha
This sketch is 10x funnier now that I've watched a season of The Great British Bake Off.
you would have already done it if you were British.
Wes Cameron I
I'm Danish but I've seen multiple seasons and there's also a Danish version!
The Great Danish British Bake Off.
what country are you from
Cecily Strong and Emily Blunt should do a movie as these characters. 😄
Not used to Emily Blunt not acting as Queen Victoria, a posh fashion snob or Mary Poppins!
Well 1 of them was offensive to a whole country who hates being a part of Britain and the other 1 allowed her to butcher about 20 British accents
Proposed title for such film: 'Sisters Grimsby: Chavs revenge part 1"
And they should call the characters "the strong blunt bitchez"
“We know a couple of lads who can dust you off” LMAO
DiscoDashco yeah that was hilarious.
And what does this mean exactly?

3:00 Kate's face after Cecily knocked the cake out of her hands 😂😂
Bad skit and horrible accents.
😂😂😂
Surprised squirrel face
C'mon people. Nobody's going to take months of speech coaching for a three minute bit on a weekly sketch show.
She was great for an American audience, which is hwo SNL is for. I can list a number of british actors that just do a southern or valley girl accent and people swear how authentic they sound, but they don't. It all sounds like a caricature.
Thank you! People can be so extra
Thank you! Geez, people think this is supposed to be high drama. Monty Python used to live on doing crap American accents and it made it that much funnier.
Sir Tinderloin just watch all the Harry Potter movies and the entire British series of Skins. You’ll be British in a weeks time!
@@jamesmartin9401 American accents? They used to do crap BRITISH accents.
He's a psycho, he choked me earlier. He took is and like this and he choked meh.....🤣🤣🤣🤣 died when the cake hands appeared..
"we met in the hospital, we were having our stomachs pumped! I had alcohol poisoning"....."I drank hand sanitiser!" 😂🤣
Drinking hand sanitizer is ALSO alcohol poisoning!!! It's 140 proof!
I agree that Cecily killed it but I can't help but laugh at Emily Blunt! I'm from the north of England and some of her lines remind me a little of the way I speak with my accent being what I can only describe as flat and monotone (the Yorkshire accent basically) 😂
Lol agreed, I forgot she was British for a second I was like "damn that's a good northern accent"
Where is that accent Cicely is doing sourced from?
I'd guess somewhere a bit north of Yorkshire.
And what's it called?
@@lockandloadlikehell it seems to be sourced from Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Scotland, Ireland, isle of man, Wales and Australia.
Im a leeds lass, proper Yorkshire. Some ppl can't even understand mine

Paul is scouse wtf why are they making him sound posh. Emily blunts northern accent is actually top quality tho tbh
I'm from the North and to be honest I thought it was quite bad.
Antoniø Brah bit of a difference between North England and south England. Honestly I'm surprised there isn't a border
Louis Hartley it's basically the difference between Saudi Arabia and Japan
Louis Hartley, Hadrian's Wall?
Peter S that's between Scotland and England, not North and Southern England.
2:59
Kate’s reaction after she dropped the cake 🤣🤣🤣🤣
ya i was about to say i think she was like oh shit lol
As a fan off the actual show, this was HILARIOUS
Agreed, but the food processors on the benches bugged me the entire sketch. 3 mixers must have been out of the budget.
As an actual fan of this nonfactual show, i too, find it most entertaining.
I'm sorry but WHAT THE HELL HAPPEN AT EXACTLY 2:58 to 3:00 they weren't suppose to drop the cake? Because Kate's face says it all lmfao
Yeah I saw that
For real
Idk but I want to know
I noticed that too, that cake probably cost too mich to just drop. Would have been nice if they all could have enjoyed it after the show.
I feel like the way Cecily said "Get that out of here." sounded kinda like she improvised it amd Kate wasn't prepared for her to push the cake out of her hands.
Cecily:We bake just as well as we shag
Emily-yeah quick and lazy
Me: *Laughing hard*
Lies again? Easy Job Piece Of Cake

Their sue perkins character was criminally underutilized.
Did anyone else find the two girls strangely attractive?
grease2d456 Cecily strong OMG she's to do die for
grease2d456 I'd have dusted off their slaggy gash...
Not strangely but definitely. The redhead has gorgeous legs.
I love Cecily strong she's one of the funniest women in the world and best cast member besides Vanessa bayer
One of the finest to
"The prize is being the best baker... and being British" with a proud smile.
It’s funny because being from somewhere isn’t a prize.
Cecily Strong is so fkn talented. This woman never fails to amaze me.
Her accent was horrible though. I was trying to guess what she was doing, because they were supposed to be from the same town, and it seemed to be taking a tour of the British Isles.
@@StickItUpYrBumGugle No one is watching for a perfect english accent, it’s all just for laughs.

I love how the different parts of British society are presented to a large international audience. Hilarious sketch 😂
You actually mean: A large part of British Society presented to different parts of an international audience...
Cecily started out....waaaaaay northern England, like, on the boarder of Scotland. Then went full on Highlander. I couldn't understand a damn thing. LMAO.
I actually live in way waaaaay Northern England, near the boarder between England and Scotland, and she never came close to sounding like a Geordie, sorry.
So...you trying to say she nailed it?
Her accents are an absolute mess in this scene
She struck me as Welsh starting out. Which shocked me.
Cecily went Mancunian, Scouse, Brummie, Yorkshire, Mancunian, Brummie, Scouse 🤣
Script is rubbish but the accents nearly made my cry laughing
Yeah, all it is is two contestants acting normal and the third is a nut. What else is new?
The script is the best part wtf are you talking about? Great attention to language, very clever and colorful phrasing: "berries are right as soldiers" "it does look a picture" "we know a couple o lads that can dust you off"
I think that's the point
I agree.I thought they got the Chav part down pretty well, they were jut missing their track suits.Lol.
Much better than the cringey yank accents which still make me laugh lol
It’s 330 am why am I watching so much SNL skits . Omg imma be dead tomorrow
I'm asking myself the same question right now.
this is my exact situation. lmao
I'm British and Kate as Mary Berry is excellent. She's my fave in any case 😂
It sucks that the audience isn’t laughing enough but you got to give it to the actors here because they’re holding it together and still playing it through and that’s bad ass. It’s a funny skit!
Does anyone else want to see a sketch about them meeting in the hospital getting their stomachs pumped
I want to see that 😂 (also is your name Kate's character or your actual name lol)
“I know a couple of lads who can dust you off” and she looked a bit pleased XD
Lads aren’t her cup of tea.
The Chads don't even want to date her .

Girl with red hair’s accent is pretty accurate and so is Mary Berry’s
Pretty accurate for where exactly?! No where speaks a mixture of Scottish, Northern Irish and Welsh!
Mate the girl with the red hair's accent covers about 10 different dialects.
Emily Blunt is BRITISH. She was born and raised in Wandsworth London. It's hysterical how British people are analyzing her accent not knowing she's British. LMAO Speaks volumes...
sara you can still be bad at regional accents not matter where you’re from.
sara I’ve just googled Emma blunt, isn’t she the brunette? The girl next to her is the redhead?
Emily's accent is more consistent, but Cecily's accent is more entertaining.
@Bob Hilton That's a pretty good observation considering that Emily Blunt IS British 😂
Well I would hope Emily's accent is consistent considering it's her real voice (or just an exaggeration of it).
@@the_rebekah_leigh It's definitely not her real accent. Emily is from London, but Paisley is from Northern England.
@@bobhilton2643 I was trying to avoid being overly loquacious- looking back on my comment I can see how I could have worded it better. I meant that Emily is British, so of course her accent is going to be more 'consistent' regardless of where she's from. Just like an American can easily do specific American accents that a foreigner might have trouble distinguishing between.
@@the_rebekah_leigh You're right on. Appreciate the clarification. 👌
Emily Blunt in this reminds me of being back at school. The way she looks and that gobby attitude.

I used to do “British accent”, butMore I know about it, more I can’t grasp what “British accent” would sound like. Since British is big and you can’t really tell which accent that would be great enough to represent the whole Island. I don’t even think there is such a thing, to be honest.

The great thing about Bake Off usually is that no one is competitive at all. When someones cake or whatever goes wrong, everyone just sacrifices their own time to help, and then get really upset whenever someone leaves.
