This takes me back big time. I’m a Heights native, lived across the street from what became El Malecon. That space was still a donut shop when I left NYC in 1985. I’ve been back up there to visit over the years, including stops at El Malecon and Mambi. Great food up there.

Man i used to live there and know the neighborhood. Mambi has always been the spot since i was a kid. Great food, great svce. El malecon has good chicken, i know cos I’ve had it too. I know the bakery too, they make really good empanadas. The place I haven’t tried is the chicharron place, looks delish. In Washington heights tho you’re in good company with Dominicans who are really good people, very friendly and helpful and you have the food, you can’t lose, its a win-win situation. Awesome video dude.

I grew up in Washington Heights,close to the C train. I used to work out at the Planet Fitness right across the street from Mambi’s. 🏋🏽♀️
Malecon is one of my absolute must-haves when I go back to visit my old neighborhood. I get yellow rice,beans,sweet plantains & rotisserie chicken,(sometimes steamed vegetables). I was so jealous watching u eat 😩😂😂😂
