I own a 2020 Escape hybrid. After 4 years, averaging 46.7 mpg and no problems. Very good vehicle. Hybrid offers the best value. Not a fan of smalll displacement turbos.
Got a 2006 and a 2017 honestly prefer the 2006 v6 solid been a very solid vehicle now the 2017 titanium is nice with 2.0 turbo nice but has issues with electronics test drove a 2022 with the 3 cylinder was not impressed lacked power
I see these around from time to time. It probably sells well and makes a lot of money for Ford so they should keep it, especially after they discontinued cars like the fusion, focus, c-max and ecosport. Just for me, there's probably at least 5 SUVs in the class I'd buy over this.
@@LordWinterCX5 any day. Escape has the cool tech, but that will run you into the low or mid 40s, and that’s knocking on the door of some nice luxury SUVs like a Lexus nx or Acura rdx or even ford's own lincoln corsair. I ain’t an escape fan but they sell 100k+ units and clearly there’s a market.
@@KNRS927 Most of the people I've observed in these new Escapes are middle aged to older. I think most of American buyers don't cross shop or compare vehicles and the escape is just good enough that most customers will be sold after the test drive. My next door neighbor bought a Subaru Legacy which is fine but he could have gotten the much better Accord or Camry if he did his research.
I'll keep my Metallic Ruby Red 2017 Ford Escape Titanium 2.0 4WD 6-speed auto with manual shift paddles. I also have the full panoramic sunroof, as well. It has 245HP and 275ft-lbs torque. Plus, my interior is a lot nicer. Besides, I just turned 58K, so I have plenty of adventures ahead of me. I flippin' love my Ford Escape. My next Ford will be either a Ranger or Mustang; I haven't decided yet.
My daughter has a 2013 Escape Titanium with the 2.0L engine. Absolutely great car, no problems whatsoever to date. I worry about the very small motor in this vehicle for long term reliability. Actually predicted reliability is the main criteria I use for my purchase.
I wish they would go back to the original "shape". A true mini-SUV and not a crossover like nearly everyone else is doing. With the popularity of the F-150, I would think others would like that truck like look.
Owned a 2003 for 20 years and it was absolutely bulletproof, just sold it. Drove good and was still in great shape!. Just picked up a new 2023 escape ST line select fully loaded and we absolutely love it. Hopefully it’s as good as the old one was.
We have one at work. It's awkward to drive, not comfortable at all. The screen in the dash looks like an add on and is occasionally glitchy. The arm rests are built for a 4'2 midget. It does get good mileage. Feels tinny, cheap and jerky while also making creaking noises at 1560 miles. Junk car.
We looked at Ford and opted for Mazda. Spent 30k and got a nicely equipped - albeit smaller, CX-30. 2.5 4 cyl. AWD, leather. Not perfect but nice. No 3 bangers for me thanks.
Even ford have zero inventory for escape other than plug in hybrid. Dealers have no interest in selling them either. 7 dealers in my area with nothing other than base model or phuv
I owned a 2010 Mercury Mariner ( Fancy Escape) and I own a 2018 Escape SE w 1.5l AWD . Escapes are great cars! But the prices are getting insane! I bought a new car this year and I had a budget of $29k I desperately looked but couldn't find a Ford ( new ) in the price range, so I bought a 24 Chevy Trax, fully loaded for $28k $43k for that ST Line is a frigging crime!
I have 2021 Escape SE and it has the worst seat ever. It has no butt support. It sinks in and it hurts my back so much I don't drive it anymore. And the headrest is too forward out where it pushes your neck hurting your neck. I have seen lot of Ford escape driver who have their headrest turned.
I agree. I'm still driving my 2008 v6 escape. I test drove new one a few weeks ago and it just didn't feel right. And I hate the look of the new ones, they look like minivans now.

Make sure you pay BELOW invoice. -$4000 Retail Customer Cash & you better get some Dealer money off as well.
This car is the successor to the Ford focus. The original escape? Still around, it’s just called the bronco sport now.
Honest review with fair insights - that center console flex… damn. But also some highlights that deserve a thumbs up.

right! I dont get why people would buy this when the CX5 does everything better and looks way more premium

It's Ford's 2nd highest-selling vehicle only next to the F-150

2L still available
I love everything but the transmission 😭!!
The 3 cylinder turbo engines are junk. Don't expect high mileage.
I have a 2020 Ford Escape Turbocharge 3 cyl 1.5 liter and it gets 32 MPG; engine pickup is always good.

Surprised they discontinued the fusion and kept this, I never see these on the road
They're out there. They just blend in with everything else.

Brilliant! I love to hear it. I hope you enjoy your new Escape. Congratulations!
Sold my 06 escape and bought my 21 escape hybrid. Been great so far, 41 mpg and awd is hard to beat

It's a ford. Period. Recall a palooza.
I use to think the same. And then i bought a loaded Edge. I loved it. Got bored one day and traded it. Biggest mistake i’ve ever made.

Seems like a decent crossover but that interior color... blah! What are they thinking?
I honestly can't see why anyone would want this when they can get some better vehicles with WAYY better quality materials. That interior looks bad.
So nice to be able to turn off the touchscreen. You can’t do that in any other car to my knowledge.
I find the Escape to be a very good curve carver. Better than the Crosstrek I used to own.
Ford still offers the 8 inch screen with physical buttons if you don't opt for the tech package. And it still comes with sync 4.
This reviewer is fantastic. I like the 2023 escape refresh and I'm looking at buying one.
Tiny little engine wont last long...lets hope they fixed the piss poor block design.....
At the price point of the St elite you can get a cadilac xt4 soo this doenst make a lot of sense
If I ever start driving and get enough money, I may consider driving one of these.

Lose weight
The wemby comment was gold 😂
I love this reviewer. He's so through.
FYI - it doesn’t feel like leather because it’s not - it’s Ford’s Active X upholstery.
Just get a CX5
nicee
I always forget Ford still sells this until I randomly see one of these new ones on the road like once every other week
I see more Bronco sports than escapes now.
Escape still outsells the Bronco Sport, so that's interesting. @@KNRS927
