Honest, solid tradecraft presented in an entertaining way. In a world slopping over with BS I'll sit here and watch Johnny clean a car with pleasure. Cheaper and way more fun than therapy....😅😅😅 Thanks and God bless all ! 👍👏👏👏
I have noticed one thing in all cleaning and detailing videos. None of the person who finds an abandoned vehicle or barn find or anywhere find goes to uplift the vehicle on a lift or jack or any lifting mechanism and clean from underside. Well in my country, the detailing or thorough cleaning means the car has to be washed completely, not only from top and sides and inside but also the detailers lift it on a jack holding car from sides or central jack and the car is washed and cleaned from underside also. Reason is if you leave dust and dirt underside, it results not only in rusting but also damages mechanical parts slowly. Secindly vehicle also gets checked from underside for any damages happened till that time and it gives convenient opportunity for owner and mechanics to look, find and decide for any repairs if needed immediately.
Larry @ Ammo NYC jack's the car up cleans the underside, removes the wheel's,cleans the wheel arches, cleans the brake calipers. Ammo do the most comprehensive detailing by far of any detailing channel on RUclips.👍👍👍
Brilliant job. It's been over 20 years since I sold mine - MR2 16 valve GTi T-bar facelift version in Goodwood green. Out of all the cars I've owned and driven in 45 years on the road I miss my Mister Two the most. Best fun you can have on four wheels. The factory stereo and pre-amp was utterly amazing. If I had somewhere to keep it I would have another tomorrow.
She’s a proper looker Johnny, A definite future classic! I know we haven’t seen underneath but was blown away how little rust there was on there, are we going to get another vid on this? Having my Sunday lunch with your vids on the big screen has become my ritual now!
I loved this one - a proper 90s icon in my opinion! It’s unlikely this particular car will appear on the channel again as this was a clean up job for the cars owner as opposed to one of my own vehicles. I would love to do a restoration on an MR2 turbo some day though so you see another one here soon! Thanks for watching 👍
If Toyota could see this transformation and all your hard work they would be so proud of you ! Such an amazing before and after transformation ! - This has got to be the best MR-2 out there and rot free ! - Well done bro - Great video & music man ! 👍👍👍👍👍
I’ve had a couple of MR2’s in my life, this looks like a wee cracker. Just keep an eye on the sills just before the rear wheels (one side already looked gone) and the t-bar seals (they dry out and leak over time). If you can get the sills looked at have a wee look at the floor pans too. These old MR2’s had foam installed in the plastic panel under the rear quarter windows that dropped down towards the sills/floor pan once heavy with condensation and rotted the car from the inside out (don’t ask me how I know this 🙈😂). Lovely car though 👍🏻
This one was a clean up i did for a TV show, so not my own project car (unfortunately!). The car has since gone on to have new sills fitted however the last time i checked on it i think it was back to being stored! Thanks for watching!
I haven't even watched the video yet Johnny and I'm already liking it and giving you a thumbs up. You gotta love 90s Toyotas. Can't wait to see what you do with the MR2. I just hope you keep it and don't flip it for something else
Thanks very much! This clean up was actually done for a TV show so this isn't a vehicle I own myself, however i've got a yearning for an MR2 turbo project so watch this space!
@@JohnnyGetsCash you should deffo keep your eye out for a MR2 for yourself as you can never own enough 90s Toyotas. They are still out there, but fetching big money, and you'd be hard pushed to find another Turbo, T-Bar MR2 is super rare yellow.
JohnnyG, I own a 91 N/A. White, T-tops, and all original. Down to the radio. Only 135,000 miles. US. It has been sitting outdoors for a few years. No garage. Not a barn find. Thanks for this video. Wish I knew what products you were using. Hope mine cleans up so well.
I took one of these for a test drive in 1992 with a toyota sales man sat next to me incuraging me to rev the engine out,It was 14 grand brand new then,I hit a puddle in the road and the car aqua planed as the front was so light.I realised then it wasn't for me.A true classic car though.Oh and the sales man turned white .
What an awesome video!! It's exactly what I am looking for...even the color! I haven't read through all the comments & new to the channel, but I assume you sell these cars?

Ahh I'd love an MR2! Definitely going up in price these days. I was too young to afford the insurance on one when they were cheaper. Now I'm 35! Wtf happened 😂
This Toyota MR2, the Mazda Miata and the Mitsubishi 3000 GT are probably the best ever proper sport cars in the segment, really, ever. Lots of people will say the best of the 90s, but I think they're still the best... Why?... They created the segment, they're the segment, they're proper sport 2 seaters designed to give you the thrills without breaking your bank account (the 3000 GT expensiver, but still affordable for the middle class guy), they're like those very good affordable champagne like that really aren't champagne because they don't come from champagne. The bottles on the bottom shelf, way below the Ferraris and Lamborghinis on the top shelf but still quite nice to celebrate a good thing that happened in your life and get drunk with speed and a lovely performance. Also, this guy will be the only one able to clean my 5yo kid car seat.
I must of missed the sills 😢 is it yours or is it getting sorted for someone else? Because it wasn’t like your normal videos not talking or anything in it.
Generally speaking i use an APC mixed with various other products depending on the job in hand (aside from wheels, when i use a specific wheel cleaner)
What a lovely 90s car times when cars had styles, uniqueness and just had that vibe of the future but seeing what current time have its sad that we lost all that beatuy and desgins with time now its all about tech and over done ugly desgins all the same.

@@JohnnyGetsCash would be cool af ! good job looks amazing 10/10 and yes please would be amazing to see what Jonny's touch can do with one of them like a before and after from barn find to supercar killer or something like that 🫣
Naturally caution should be exercised (when pressure washing any car to be honest). In the case of this MR2 it was absolutely fine. There were a few areas of clear coat flaking which normally I’d avoid but on this job the car was due to go for a respray so I was instructed by the owner not to be fussy about that!
As someone who uses snow foam a lot on multiple detailing jobs, I can assure you that in this instance it would’ve been an unnecessary step & a waste of product as the purpose of snow foam is to soften and remove contaminants in order to reduce marring at contact wash stage. This MR2 was being cleaned up after being pulled out of barn storage ahead of going for restoration (including a respray), so there was no need to treat the [already damaged] paint work too carefully!
As a detailer and car enthusiast, I can't tell you how jealous I am of this find! Good job man
Thanks very much!

Great video. It would be better if you overlayed the product being used at each point in the video. Thanks.
Great clean up u don't mind me asking what u use in that spray bottle ?
For the external areas? That’s a mixture of APC & TFR, just to cut through some of the heavier grime on a job like this 👍

Excellent job! I have a question. What cleaner do you use? And was it okay to use the steelwool on the exhaust?
I use a variety of different chemicals (some of my own concoction too). Steel wool is fine, in fact it’s a very gentle medium 👍

Wow 🤩, I wasn’t expecting a MR2 ❤ Iv just started watching but so far it looks to be in real good condition, has it been in dry storage
