Mickey is the epitome of an underappreciated legend!
I hope Mickey has joined the Slix crew as a permanent employee.
Mickey is legendary! Slixy, hold on to him!
That Mick geezer is a deffo keeper 🤣 He’s the ‘sleeper’ of mechanics. Great addition to team Slix !
thats a bar 😂😂
Mickey is the definition of being underrated, legend !!!
Mickey was just somebody in the background in the early days,,,, now,,,,,, mickeys the main man😄👍
I remember watching my first car RUclips videos years ago where people would put an intake on and maybe a splitter and exhaust. You guys are literally rebuilding entire cars now....crazy 🤪
The power of RUclips. Each generation of RUclipsrs had a better RUclips video to follow!
u obviously never watched the American guy who did this almost ten years ago. mike rebuilds or summat.
reshelled a dodge charger and repaired an r35 to mention a few
@Sensiblehuman1985 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I still won't buy any of this cars 😂😂😂😂😂😂after those repairs 😂😂😂😂
@@DK-wj3bf the emojis don’t make your “jokes” any funnier. Do you even watch this channel?
You mean daddy mat started something, and every man and their dog jumped on it 😂😂😂
All that oil is likely from the car being up side down. It could easily leak from the cam cover gasket into the spark plug recesses. And also being inverted, leak down through the open valves into the cylinders, and also down through the inlets into the turbos.
Hopefully there's nothing wrong and just a good clean up needed.
Yes I agree with this. The fact that it’s been upside down means it will have oil in unusual places!
I came to comment the same thing😂
Definitely my favourite car channel . Absolutely keeping it real and with no noisy manic laughter. Chris and Mickey going great guns.
Another Micky post. He is gold for this channel. Knows his stuff. Far too humble. Great addition to the team.
4:23 "get my chopper out" 😂😂😂
Micky is a top bloke.
Really enjoyed watching this ,I'm in hospital after surgery and it's 2am I'm eating a piece of toast after starving for 14 hours watching these legends..Mikey you are a Geeza we love you on the channel..Skilled and knowledgeable and reins Chris in if need be 👑
Have a speedy recovery
The scale of RUclips rebuilds especially British rebuilds is insane. Just a couple of years ago it was mainly putting a new exhaust on or new shocks, now it’s full on rebuilds from the tub onwards and even full engine rebuilds.
Mickey t-shirt drop for the Slix group is needed, where would you be without the Mickey.
Great set up on show.👌👍
Mickey the legend! Every man Jack needs a contactable Mickey within their bandwidth. Facts!
Ye he’s a gd guy u can tell he not there for the fame
Hair is starting to come along nicely 😊
Yep very elton john may be eye sight will go next 😂😂😂
Mickey is definitely my favorite character unlock on your channel. Keep up the good work chaps I’m loving the show ❤😎
I hope when the car is done it goes to Mickey. He is a proper legend! Hang on to him Slix!
Excellent- really enjoyable video. Great camera work, nice cutting between edits, and few time lapse. Thanks my man. Looking forward to next . Keep up good work
Mickey is now part of the crew and keep it up for posting daily.
It never ceases to amaze me how complicated new engines are. Back in the day, I rebuilt a mark 3 escort engine and that was hard enough! Will keep watching to see how this build pan’s out! You and Micky are a great team!
mickey is a star , top fella
Well done Micky and Chris …..perfect match up …
Love to see Micky driving the beast when it’s ready …👌👍👍👍👍👍
Never mind the McLaren your hairs coming along nicely,
The car was upside down in one of the photo's theres going to be oil in every orifice including the plugs good job man keep it up.
Very well photographed & edited!
Mickey is the equivalent of mats dad. Fair play I wouldn’t even know where to start with that McLaren. Great work Chris!
The plugs look fine the oil is coming from the valve cover leaking due to maintenance neglect
I don't get why Chris hasn't got more subscribers... far better content than most in this niche, for me as engaging and interesting as matt... great cars and challenging builds, good vid frequency...
Oil on the OUTSIDE of the spark plug socket can only be from leaking seals in the spark plug tubes....pull the plugs and oil runs into the cylinder....calm down Chris....it's not so bad.
The car was upside down remember!!
Teamwork makes the dream work. Well done chaps love this !
Love the challenge build on the McLaren and the hair transplant is looking good too 👍👍💯
28:13 haha that feeling is awesome when summut just fits! 👌
I'm always amazed at how Chris and the team can put everything back together completely. What is their secret to organize/log, dismantling, and assembling everything again? and not to mention finding what's missing. especially whenever he said "Never done this before"
I remember Freddy doing the same with the turbos on his 675LT, that ended beautifully with a better engine👀🤙😂
Micky is the man!!!! What an addition to your channel. He’s a keeper 😉
I struggle to find a channel I can watch and watch but Chris the content is fantastic! Looking forward to this build and watching the channel grow mate!
The excess of oil in the turbos and top end would be from the car being upside down.
I'd still rebuild the turbos and do new Valvecover gaskets while it's out and easy to access.
Massive Respect to You and Mickey!!👏
Love the content Chris it's great u have mickey he is a legend
Can't wait to see it finished
You and Mickey = dream team. Keep the videos coming, guys!
Really loving this series! Early days but really excited for you and Mackey on this one!
Taking over as the man man 💪 look out Matt
Plenty for them both and more. The more content creators like this the better for all of us.
😂😂😂😂😂 hardly 😂😂
@@timhaywood6604 much prefer this content to be honest, less waffle more build.
Well done Chris, keep persevering!
Mickey is worth his weight in symmetry! Great skills guys 🧡
Looks like you’re well on the way to 300k by Christmas well done Chris and Mickey this channel has become a must watch.
Quickly become my favourite RUclips channel, keep up the great work mate 👍🏻
Mick is to Chris as Tony is to Mat great work keep it up
Oil could be just from the valve cover gasket. When you remove the plugs the oil will just run down to the plug threads and cylinder. Looking the plug electrods it seems fine. Great channel and cracking team :)
I suppose oil every where is better than water like mats gt3rs 😬 Great rebuild and micky is a legend!!!
If you are getting ricky to rebuild that engine with new rods you can add so much more power. This is going to be a mental car. Love it.
Ha get your chopper out Chris! 😂
You two are great together. Great progress. Looking forward to the next one
Mickey ...what a legend well spoken individual great Addition to the team
I'm mixing up the cars on the different channels. Remembered this one hasn't been in a river!🙂
😂 I feel you
Lemme guess
Mat Armstrong’s Porsche 911 GT3RS?
Well done to you your making a fantastic job of this good on you 😊
@@thelegendaryme Yep. At least this one is just swimming in oil! 🫣
At least this one wasn’t under sea water 😅
Hi Chris, fair play for taking this on for a start, quite the project, the oil on the plugs is most likely from the cam cover gasket plug hole seals leaking oil, its common gor that type of set up, the plug hole just fills up with oil, so when you were taking the plugs out the oil in the plug hole goes into the cylinder, the oil in the intake system is another matter tho 😳 wow that a lot of oil, knackered turbo's it think, good luck mate..!
Wouldn't you think with the car upside down then being righted the oil went into all those places? Down through the valves and exhaust.
They know. What they doing. Good job guys!!
Great vid, hats off for attempting such a build.
Been waiting all week for this
Look at the glass as half full, there might be oil everywhere, but it kept it from rusting and corrosion...
This is one hell of a rebuild! Good luck
You and Matt do get yourselves in a bit of trouble one is water the other is oil😂😂
That engine looks buzzin!!!
Mickey seems a top bloke and grafter. Keep him in the videos, mate. He's cool.
Mickey is the man nothing a problem to him.
The world needs more Mickys 👌🏻
Mickey is such a good geezer! Top work as always Chris!
Its important to tell all your friends and family about this awesome channel.
Mickey is awesome 👏 such a lad and very knowledgeable about cars
great work on the McLaren fellas, Mickey is a superstar! - you're not too shaby either Chris!
The start of the video was so on point, definitely vibing with it.
MICKEY IS THE MAN! we need a Mickey catchphrase for the merch
You & Mickey, great team, great content!
The oil is on the outside of the spark plugs therefore not in the cylinders until you take them out, probably cam cover gaskets leaking down spark plug tubes.
Salute Mickey!! All the way from 🇿🇦🇿🇦 what a lad!
So much better than that souped up nova thing you worked on loving the builds 👍
Not even Mat would take on this project! Insane amount of work and risk. Great content!
Hope u get this done , mickey kills it on all your cars good at everything ,
Mickey is like Bad Chad...he has the perfect mindset of someone rebuilding a car!
Hair is coming along nicely!
Mickeys the man! Legend, Hes a great addition to the channel Chris 👌👌 Hope you do many more projects with him 👍👍
That motor needs some serious work, glad to see your doing the job right! Keep up the great content, fast becoming my favourite channel 👍
A note on turbo "seals".
Turbos don't technically have oil seals, they rely on a combination of gravity and spinning to direct the oil down the oil drain.
If the oil drain gets blocked then the oil will back up and the direction it could go is a combination of out the exhaust, through the charge coolers and back into the exhaust manifold and into the engine when the valves are open.
Now imagine if you turn the turbo upside down so the drain is pointing upwards....
Or in other words your engine and charge cooler is full of oil because the car was upside down making the turbo drain system upside down.
The engine turned over so hopefully it didn't run long enough to hydro lock.
Great video's, awesome content. I love that we dont have to watch 267 parts to see some repairs. Keep at it!
As a mini version of Mat Armstrong in the way you vlog and have an Adult by your side at all times you will do good. Thx for the fun videos.
You guys make a good team keep it up Chris
Only watched this one and the last one Mickey a legend
You Will never be like Mat. You heave now skill on this tipe of job . Congrats Mickey. You Neeed a chanel just whit You.❤❤❤
Mickey is a legend!
The oil on the plugs is from the cam cover ‘spectacle’ gaskets that seal the plug holes, not from inside the combustion chamber… just replace the cam cover gasket’s are you will be fine. It’s common.
Great job 👏👏👏👏
4:23 That moment Chris gets his chopper out😳
Mickey needs a rase he is to good.
Good work lad, Engine looks expensive please share how much when its back.
Mickey you bloody legend!
Instead of wd40 on stuff you know will be seized, heat the nut and rub the thread with a wax crayon. Once that melts down they come off easy peasy 🤙
Whatever you do don’t lose Mickey.
Unreal what a video Chris yous two make a great pair👌🏼 but love Ethan too all true guys keep up the good content✔️
I wouldn’t be to hard on yourself with the panel gaps after all it’s a Mclanren, it’s probably better now than when it came out of the factory 😆😆😆
