- Welcome to Mehl's Mountain Garage.
This time around I'm rebuilding the front suspension of my 2002 Club Car DS golf cart. This is semi instructional, so follow along! It's super easy to do with basic hand tools, and only took 2 hours real time.
I purchased the parts on amazon, there are a ton of places to get them so I just chose what was affordable.

Looking good Jim
Thanks
I like your video, not a lot of annoying music, the sound of the hammer & the impact is sweetest. Thanks for the edification.
I appreciate it and thanks for watching, I hoped it helped! I agree, I am not a fan of a ton of annoying background music.
Just finished doing the rear bushings on my 2009 club car carryall 252. Just got the front end bushings in yesterday and was looking how to take that front end apart.
Thanks for the tips. King pins look OK on mine, only 400 hrs on cart.
Awesome! Hope the video helps you get your carryall good as new!.
Love your garage also
Thank you!
Good job buddy
Thanks 👍
Was curious if i could buy buddy bearings and install them on the front hub just like you would do on a boat trailer?
Thanks for reply
You could, as long as the cap diameters are the same, and, you remember no to put too much grease in it, or you'll push it out the seal.
Very detailed display, we also have some club car accessories are you interested?
I appreciate it!
@@mehlsmountaingarage Would you mind if we emailed for a private chat to send you the product, I'm looking forward to it!
@@JohnV-c9u Sure.
I see your cart has the old style HUB & cone type bearings? What would it take to update to the new sealed bearing hub assy?
Yes it does. From what I gather, the 2004 and up model year used the sealed hub bearings with the plastic cap, which is a different spindle and hub than the 2003 and down with the tapered bearing and metal cap. The OEM part numbers for the 1981-2003 DS and PS Spindles are 1010348 and 1010347 respectively. While the 2004 and up OEM part numbers for the DS and PS spindles are 1023542-03 and 1023541-03 respectively. I haven't verified if the spindle height and bushing diameter are compatible with the king pin though, some more research would have to be done.
Call me crazy, but I would pressure wash that first.
Not crazy, I would have, but didn't have one available at the time. It's definitely better to start clean!
Great video, I love the butt hanging out of your mouth while working, reminds me of me while I'm working. Keeps the bugs away.
And there are tons of bugs here, and it seems to do the trick, 😆
