Love the focus on more budget, entry options. I've always been a believer that for tools for a person getting into a hobby (a polisher, a cordless drill, a screwdriver set, etc), you buy the best affordable option, and if it breaks, then you buy the more premium option. If it doesn't break, that means that tool is capable of fulfilling your needs as a beginner.
On the opposite end you can buy the more "pro" model first and have the confidence that it will last you a hell of a lot longer and will operate better potentially giving you better results then the "beginner" model... just a thought
@@Mr.Thermistor7228 I think it really is dependent on the tool. For example, if someone bought a garbage polisher off Amazon and had a terrible experience, they might be discouraged from trying to polish their car ever again, not knowing that it was the tool causing most of those issues. However, with people like Josh and others reviewing budget tools that aren't the most premium but will get the job done, I think it's a great chance for people to see if they even like the hobby. Some people might buy a Rupes polisher and use it once and never again because they were polishing their car in the summer heat and their back hurts and their arms got tired and they just decided polishing wasn't for them. Personally, I bought the polisher above and had a great experience in combination with turtlewax pads and one-and-done compound. Got 90% of scratches out in one pass, machine never jittered, overheated, bogged down, nothing. Is it just as a good machine twice it's price? Surely not, I can't speak for long-term reliability, quality of individual components, etc. Did it get the job done, and confirm in my mind that polishing is something I enjoy? Certainly. If this cheap polisher breaks will I buy a nicer one and continue my new-found hobby? Certainly. Would I have attempted to polish on my own if the cost of entry was a $300 Rupes polisher? Probably not! You see where I'm going with this?
What I like about Josh’s videos is he doesn’t hold back on any of his reviews. If he sees or finds something he doesn’t like he’s not afraid to tell it like it is! No BS
You should check out the Wen AA6158. It checks all the boxes at $82. 5" backing plate. 15mm orbit. Progressive trigger and soft start. 16' cord. Epoxied motor commentator. Rubber support bars to securely set down on back. Also includes 3 usable pads and brushes.
I just purchased a old Chevy truck that I don't think has been waxed ever. I could really use this polisher to bring it back to its original glory. Thanks for the great content very helpful and fun to watch.
Ok..you can't beat the price-and for a beginner, this seems totally efficient and effective!!! I'm here for it!!! I have been learning on an Adams 9mm Swirl Killer which has been great.... but I would love to get my hands on a longer throw just to start feeling and seeing the difference....this seems perfect for that. Thank you!!!
The 9mm swirl killer is my first polisher, also. Keep in mind, the 5 inch backing plate and 9mm throw allow using a single polisher for flat and curved panels while also finishing out better than a longer throw would. In about a year, my Swirl Killer has made me about 8k inside work. It's a powerful 1000w smooth polisher that can be had on sale for around $110 - that's a steal.
I really like how he’ll try to find the good about every product, regardless of price. It may not work out, but he seems to try and find the good in everything, until it’s not good.
Thank you for the opportunity. Recently I got into detailing my family cars I I'm debating about car polishing, I said can't get expensive. This would be great start.
Perfect first time polisher, I been detailing for a few months now and some of my customers have been asking me for a paint correction, and I don’t have a polisher, I found a shop that is going to teach me but a polisher will be a lot of help, thanks in advance, and lime always tooons of great info in your videos. Real stuff all the time.
I have never used a DA before, but I've done spot corrections on my car by hand. This video was very helpful and this kind of DA seems perfect for a hobbyist like me. Thank you!
Josh, love your videos, love your channel. I think it is one of the most comprehensive channels on auto detailing in the Internet. Keep it up brother.👍🏼
Grateful I came across your channel; cannot thank you enough for all the knowledge and effort put into every single video, have already begun my budget detail equipment and product collection because of your videos and have been eyeing a few inexpensive polishers to be able to take my hobbyist detailing to the next level. Thank you Josh!
man i been needing a polisher for my business, running on hopes n dreams to get this polisher from the goat joshv 🙏 good video ,learning a lot from you
Love your content man, your videos have helped me to setup my detailing gear, without spending a crazy amount of money to start. Haven’t got the polisher yet though, so fingers crossed🤞😅
I would like to have one of those dual polishers, but I haven't had the chance to get one. I have been watching videos from you, and your very knowledgeable on different subjects. Thank you for your time Jeremiah Calkins
Just got the Maxshine M8S, would love to add this to my collection as a newer detailer. Thanks for all your content, I always look forward to your new videos
Thank you for the content, it's helped me to build the confidence to start my own detailing business! 5 months in and couldn't be happier! this polisher would help me to step my game up to another level and get into the paint correction! much appreciated!
I've loved your videos. You've got me into doing my own car detailing. I'm a little nervous about using a polisher, but like I've said, I follow your tutorials, and I would love to try this. Thank you for all of your in-depth videos. Love your channel. I look forward to future videos.
How does this compare to the harbor freight 20mm throw($80)and the Maxshine M8S V2($115) For personal use on personal cars which would you recommend of the three?
Good evening Josh started watching your videos about 3 weeks ago and have enjoyed them very much. Have gained a lot of knowledge and it's much appreciated that you share this with us. Keep them coming. My next two purchases will be a detail seat and a polisher.
I been following you over the years I love the consent updating and conversations with product coming out. Would it be possible to do a video on technique to which a beginner can use to polish
Great video and very kind of you to give the MaxPro DA buffer away. I don't need it and I wanted to commend you and say this is a good deal to receive a DA Buffer that has been reviewed and paid for by a Great detailer. Thanks Josh for taking the time to make videos and to help out detailers.
Awesome video, Josh! I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into these videos. You provide great, honest feedback. I just purchased my first polisher(s). I went with griot’s G8 and G9 kit. Now I’m wondering if I should grab a 15mm throw machine…. Majority of the friends and families cars I’ll be working on mainly only have light swirls and scratches, but a few are worse off. We’ll see how griots does!
Love the content and the fact that you constantly think of the everyday diyer. Amazing videos and geared for us who detail for FUN. I hope you see this.
Been subbed for a while, the channel has taught me so much stuff that I would have never thought about when detailing especially as a DIYer on mine and my wife’s vehicles. Keep it up man!
Best vids out there, easy to understand and straightforward, love the channel and since I don't have one I'll keep my fingers crossed for the polisher!!!
Thank you josh have enjoyed your content you never disappoint. Thank you for taking your time to give us straight forward advice and product reviews. Would luv luv the workpro 15mm dual action polisher to try my hand at starting out.
Just throwing it out there, the Bauer from harbor freight (great machine btw, have them personally) will be $40 in their October tent sale, regularly priced $70 I believe. Super stupid price for such a great polisher
Yea i agree! Thats the 8mm version right? The long throw polisher they have is $89 ( i think it used to be around $120 but i just checked and its $89 now)
Found your channel a few months ago and man you have definitely helped me step up my detailing game. Love the vids!! Never used a power polisher, usually just wax on wax off by hand.
As always you are the best. With detailing info. I'm an old guy retired...but l have a new SUV. First vehicle l have purchased in 20 years. I love it and keep it super detailed. You have provide me with nothing less than best solutions. I don't have an Instagram account. I dont play on social media. If you want that polisher to go to a great home. I would be excited to be considered. Hey, that lime green rolling detail seat looks amazing. What brand is that, and is there a link to it. Best looking one l have seen. Thank for all that you doing. MT
Looks like this product is only of value for the US market. For Australia, best cost I've found equates to USD$185. I'll keep looking. Thanks for sharing.
Really lovin your content. I’m thinking about starting a side gig of detailing and could use gear lol. Learning a lot watching your channel so thanks and keep it coming. ✌️
Love your reviews Josh! Learned a ton with your detailed instructions! Thanks, appreciate you. By the way, where can I get bottle holders like the one behind you on wall😎
Love your content, you’ve been a monumental help to me, learning tools and techniques from your videos. I haven’t pulled the trigger on a polisher yet, would love to get this and start this part of my learning.
Good review. I actually bought a similar Dual Action polisher off Amazon about two weeks ago, it is a full kit like this one Josh reviewed. It is listed as a Autolock 15mm dual action polisher and it comes with a 5" and 6" backing plate. I'd like to see Josh review the Autolock as well and I think I only paid somewhere in the $65 range. Thanks Josh for the review.
Love your content man your videos have really helped me and that polisher would be great was actually looking at buying the m15 pro but wouldn't mind that as a back up.
Not trying to bash any brand!! But my guy Josh went from having maxshine in the background to Koch Chemie now that’s a glow up 🤟🏻

Where did you get extra info like epoxied motor insulation. On Amazon I can't see that info.
Thank you for loving our polisher! What an amazing and useful review video! 🥰
Do you guys have a forced rotation dual action polisher?
I just purchased a old Chevy truck that I don't think has been waxed ever. I could really use this polisher to bring it back to its original glory. Thanks for the great content very helpful and fun to watch.
Josh, Appreciate your time you spend on making your video’s for those of us who are novice’s, Thanks for all your help.

Another great video Josh. Always appreciate how you cater to the DIY or beginner guys instead of highlighting all the top end pro stuff.
Content is great. I have learned a lot about the different products. Just started detailing full time this year in AZ.
I have never used a DA before, but I've done spot corrections on my car by hand. This video was very helpful and this kind of DA seems perfect for a hobbyist like me. Thank you!
Just started my detailing business and bought a pressure washer with attachments you suggested and it was awesome!
I have a 9mm and could use this. I watch lots of your videos. Learn lots. Off yout videos I bought Rioby 1900 washer! Love it thank you!

I would like to have one of those dual polishers, but I haven't had the chance to get one. I have been watching videos from you, and your very knowledgeable on different subjects.
Thank you for your time
Jeremiah Calkins
Josh, I AGREE WITH U 100% on tapered base. I ruined my 97 Camry YEARS AGO having that right to the edge. I bumped my mirror/door left a scrape/dent.
Yea that angled edge definitely gives you a bit of a buffer against that kind of stuff
Cool polisher, thanks for the review. Always like your take on detailing products!
Thanks so much
I was wondering about this polisher. Thank you for the review. Definitely helpful in my decision making process.
Just got the Maxshine M8S, would love to add this to my collection as a newer detailer. Thanks for all your content, I always look forward to your new videos

I understand that it cannot compare to a maxshine but it sounds like a great starter dual action polisher .
I just started up my mobile detailing business so I could definitely use a polisher
Awesome video, Josh! I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into these videos. You provide great, honest feedback. I just purchased my first polisher(s). I went with griot’s G8 and G9 kit. Now I’m wondering if I should grab a 15mm throw machine…. Thanks for reviewing this product currently in the market for a good beginner one low budget!
Glad it was helpful!
Found your channel a few months ago and man you have definitely helped me step up my detailing game. Love the vids!! Never used a power polisher, usually just wax on wax off by hand.
Loving your videos, Josh! I have learned so much since I started watching your content
Great review! Thanks for sharing! I’ve been debating 15 vs. 23 mm and suspected 15 was better for me as a DIY.
Your videos are very helpful for us trying to get started! Thank you!!
Been watching for a minute and find your content to be very helpful to my beginner efforts. Keep on keeping on!
I’d love this polisher, I was going to buy the maxshine G9. count me in!

For a beginner I think it’s a good starting option to start learning.
Totally agree!
Nice looking machine Josh. Glad to see you still rolling through. I remember when you had just 15k subs.
Really lovin your content. I’m thinking about starting a side gig of detailing and could use gear lol. Learning a lot watching your channel so thanks and keep it coming. ✌️
Great info, I still need to learn how to use a polisher

Thank you for this video! Getting my technique down
How did you know that I was researching a DA buffer to get for my DIY vehicle cleaning efforts? If I don't win I will defiantly look into buying one.
How is it?
Love your content man your videos have really helped me and that polisher would be great was actually looking at buying the m15 pro but wouldn't mind that as a back up.
