- The world's first mid-engined supercar, the Miura was created by a group of young engineers pushing the boundaries for a road car. It was stunning in 1966 and is still stunning today..

Any youtuber would have used a clickbait title like "I DRIVE A 1.3 MILLION POUNDS LAMBORGHINI ON THE STREETS". Harry doesn't do that, and I'm grateful for that.
Yes, one of his many qualities that makes him so appealing. A genuine, intelligent gentleman.
You don't need clickbait this is better "Lamborghini Miura history and drive review. Mega sound!"
That’s a lot to do with why he’s the best.
Lol so accurate.
Those are kids with low on cash
This brings wonderful memories of when I was a child, my father had a white SV with all the extras like Britax racing seat belts! The engine noise is pure mechanical music, the body shape is absolutely stunningly beautiful and no car has ever come close to its beauty in my opinion. Great review by the way.
Wow. I am stunned. Even 4 years later. Your dad had a white Miura sv? ??? Life must be good at Andreas's house 🏠 😊
Hats off to the new owner who let him drive it at 1.3 million
Not really, would you trust Harry? I'd trust Harry.....
Harry's fine, it's everybody else on the road you have to watch.
I was just watching the smoking tire podcast, and one of the guest casually said "I think I am ready to buy a Miura SV".. The silence in the room was hilarious! Rich people don't really think about the price like us peasants, if they did they wouldn't be able to justify spending it
Thinking it was the new owner following in the BMW
and to the insurer...
I will never forget when as a young driver in the 70's, I was passed by a Miura... Effortlessly.
TBH, I don't imagine that even the fastest human on Earth would present much of a challenge to a sports car. 🙄
Oh, you mean while you were actually driving another car? Again, no commoners cars, and very few cars of *any* sort in the 70s, would've got within a country mile of a Miura.
The Miura is still to this day the prettiest supercar ever built.
looks great from every angle but the front.
Amen, and in that color. Oh man.
Why do so many people think its one if them best looking ever? Idk, I was never crazy about it. Personally I think the McLaren F1 is the most timeless design ever!
BOTH are Masterpieces. But the marvelous Miura is the FIRST ever mid-engine road car. More than 30 years before the supra F1. Think about it. Being filthy rich, I'd own both, of course.
I'm surprised other drivers weren't crashing as it went past.
The age of this car just blows me away, I can't imagine owning this thing in 1966.
exactly
With a young Gina Lollobrigida by your side
It means you could buy a huge house with the same money spent for the car.
Right!! in 1966, this was light years ahead of everything else except some race cars! And the most gorgeous LOOKING car to this day IN 2019 imo.
@@Virtuoso23 how supercars should be,
I'm sure the new owner is over the moon that you have reviewed his car so beautifully. Thank you for this.
Still the best looking car ever to leave the Lamborghini factory.
For sure pure uncluttered lines it sort of just flows from front to back and forms this automotive masterpiece the modern designers could learn so much from the fellows that went before nowadays o reckon there’s to much emphasis on computer modelling and wind tunnels
ANY factory
It's the best looking car ever to leave any factory.
Never click so fast on a notification..probably the most beautiful car ever made ❤️
Yeah, any Harry's video is insta-click for me, really.
Robert and Andre both totally.
(This is what top gear should always have been before bbc decided to idiotise it.)
Fairly close. Along with the 250 GTO.
Same here. Miura + Harry Metcalfe = upvote (within seconds)
After the Abarth 205! But it's gorgeous!
First, thank you for your wonderful reviews, which I think are still among the best you can find.
Of course even Harry cannot possibly know everything... just a little note aside:
Wallace was a test driver, not an engineer, he did not design anything, but he did have a big part in development. The engineers were Paolo Stanzani and Giampaolo Dallara, they designed the chassis, the semi-monocoque, the engine/gearbox layout, Marcello Gandini penned the body (all by himself in a very short time)
All true, bravo
Arguably the most beautiful car ever produced. The Countach's styling is outrageous - but the Miura is stunning. :-)
It is the most beautiful car ever produced, no one can say otherwise and come with a better looking contender
Rover Waters mmmmh... Enzo Ferrari is 't happy.about your statement !!!
In my book, the most beautiful car ever made!
Got to remember , they made this when we had the mark 1 cortina. Way ahead ofits time .
I agree
Absolutely!
When the Miura was unveiled, I must have read Car and Driver's detailed article a hundred times but only today have I learned what this car is all about. Thanks, Harry!
Goosebumps and tears of joy! Thank you so much Harry for doing justice to that beautiful car and the marque :) Absolutely the best Miura review ever!
The silhouette of the Miura is just jaw-dropping
It is like Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, just decades ahead of the times.
The most beautiful supercar of all time. In 50 years, there have been many great cars but none have even come close to matching the sheer sinuous perfection of the Miura.
The best one of Harry's to date, helped by the fact it's still my favourite of all time car. Watching Harry drive it and 'being there with him' as if I'm in the passenger seat is the closest I'll ever get to experience the sight and sound of these fine cars.
If cars had names, this Italian beauty could be easily named SOPHIA LAUREN . Harry thanks for this upload !
Loren, please.
Your enthusiasm is contagious Harry. What a car. What an owner to let you do a vid. Cheers!
Was born in 63. Was my fav car when i was 6 and still is. Jensen interceptor number 2. Iso grifo 3. Maserati bora 4.
Amazing classic car design (and colour) that looked contemporary in 1990s and still looks fresh today (2020). Thanks for the review Harry, you’re a legend.
This review really put us in the seat there with Harry. Great feeling for the car with that view through the front windscreen. And great info in Harry's commentary. Awesome Vid!!! THANKS PS- THANK YOU To the Miura Owner too!!!
I owned one of these in the 60's..............Matchbox - I was 6 or 7 and this car blew me away. Still does.
Brilliant, Harry has to be my favorite automotive youtuber by far. You can really tell when an actual automotive journalist does a review these days compared to all the vlogers haha.
Is this the best car video in the whole of RUclips till date? It feels like it. Absolutely amazing Harry's passion for cars and detailed description of the Miura. Thanks, Harry!
14:45 'This is a...' presses the accelerator and goes quiet for a bit... That sound was enough to make everyone quiet for a bit. Loving your videos Harry. Gent.
That introduction was the most awesome piece of car review ever. This man is waaaaay better than any "star journalist".... Really enjoyed this and what a piece of art.
I have Bentley's, Alfa's, Aston's, Ferrari's and E-Type's in my collection. Intend to add this to it now.
I'm a enthusiastic collector of Vintage Scalextric cars made in the 60's.
Yeah course you have
@user-ht9fr6eh9u - You do know that they are miniature model slot cars?
I saw this very car out on the road today and I just had to relive the magnificent video of it in action. What an experience. Thanks Harry
Harry, best regards to the chap who loaned it out. Brilliant. Cheers
Amazing being able to see the engine in your rear view window, especially in this day and age of plastic covers and hiding everything.
And so brave, driving someone else's million pound car. :)
it is a pleasure to watch these vids. Harry really has no competition on RUclips when it comes to car reviews
The only RUclipsr who can do a review of a Lamborghini, while pausing to read off a book. Epic review Harry!
Most of the others struggle to read....
Interesting that harry describes how bob wallace and his team drove the miura all day at 150mph to develop it, but how he (harry) wasnt usually keen on pushing a miura? What the hell was bob doing all day?
I owned this car, in this color around 1970. Of course, it was a Corgi model version and I was 10 years old, but I loved it nonetheless!
Hahaha, you had me there for a minute 😄
@@geespar1
Me too. I fell for it
I don't either, ahahahahaah.......
Ciao from Italy
Miura and XKE the two best. Who doesn't love this car? I've been lusting after it since reading the road test in Road and Track in 1969. "We were on a two lane California blacktop at 120 mph and a Porche came up behind us flashing the lights to pass. We dropped Two gears and left him a spec in the rear view in seconds..."
Good review Harry. I've learned yet even more about this car with your review.
>> Harry, we love the front view camera shooting forward over your shoulder.
Harry, I keep coming back to this video to get a “car fix”. Your reviews are just so classy. It’s going to be a future classic. Thank you.
beautiful spec with that color green and blue interior. thanks to the owner for sharing with us
Best Miura video ever. I went to the Toronto International Auto show in 2020 just before the Covid isolation. Not one but Two Miuras on display. Wow.
Tiny little thing as beautiful today as it was back then!
wow, what an experience for me ; thank you for taking me along your road test. I have always lusted after this car for the last 10 years and not a day goes by that I continue to appreciate the detailing that went into this car. The "Original super car" term I hadn't known till I watched this video. Hope to see one in real life someday.
Love this channel so much, every video is just a gem!
It’s 11/21/2022 and I’m watching this for the first time. Fascinating to see Harry’s shed and his collection at that time.
Fantastic video Harry. A true drivers car being driven, what a soundtrack.
The Muira was such a brilliant car! The most beautiful car ever built in my opinion and was so way ahead of its time! Doesn't look old even but obvously does when you drive it! Thanks for that film. Thoroughly enjoyed it and I am the same colour as the car. Just burning with envy!
Harry, this video is the best. Thank you to the new owner who clearly told you to go for it. Great to see some faster driving than normal - maybe it's just the longer cut and/or the different camera angles. Please keep up this style for your future reviews - I love the onboard and the long takes. Thank you
Ah, Harry! First the Lotus Esprit last week and now this!! You're reading my mind. Please keep them coming! Thanks again.
Thanks Harry. Your vast knowledge and experience adds another dimension to a car review.
What an absolutely drop dead gorgeous car with the soundtrack to match the looks.
went from naples to rome in high speed train yesterday. took longer than in the Miura! wow!
Look how clean the exterior styling is. No extra over the top creases, bulging bumps and angry face lights. Very tastefully done.
an amazingly beautiful car and a real car at that! our past was beautiful, our future looks more bleak by the day. :-(
What a magnificent car. As a 10 year old , I had the Corgi model in this colour and I still have it.
Fantastic review, I love your genuine enthusiasm for the car. The singing engine gave me goosebumps...On days like these....!
The most beautiful car ever made next to the E-type in my opinion.
Yep. E-type convertible...
@@mtnvalley9298 rather individually, I much prefer the E-Type coupe' styling over the Roadster.
The convertible looks too "mirrored" to me, as in the same at both ends. i LOVE the shape of the rears on the Coupe's.
The Muira has always been my favorite car. I remember seeing one parked on the street in Italy, all black, an sv I believe. Simply beautiful.
Awesome video, enjoyed every second of it.
I really like the front-facing camera angle that you are using, gives an idea on what it actually feels like to be in the drivers seat of this machine. Thanks again for this invaluable documentation.
When I was a kid, one of my Dad's friends owned one. He took me for a drive in it . . . I was five, and to me, it was like riding in a spaceship. Felt like an astronaut, so I did. A fantastic car, a wonderful ride, and the sound! Thank you, Dr. Finch!
The smile on your face and the glorious engine note said it all.
From watching your videos, I know you are a visual guy. You like how things look. Next time you have a Miura at your disposal, open both doors fully and stand in front of the car. THE HORNS!!! It's unbelievable. You really understand how incredibly stylish Italians are and how they can capture the essence (essense?) of the name.
Brilliant video Harry !!!
What a beautiful car
as stunning as this beauty looks now..cannot imagine what folks thought in '68..just incredible tech for the age..even now it is a show stopper..just drips with..wow factor..
Please make more videos, I'm not joking your content is the best on youtube.
Another fantastic video from Harry - what can I say - thanks Harry!
Gotta luv Harry's recitation of the "mood" and "spirit" surrounding the development of the car...........what a terrific video!!! Thanx Harry!!!!
Beautiful car absolutely beautiful.
That’s a proper car. I always remember the first time I heard about the Miura - when TopGear had Jay Kay on and Hammond was driving an SV - and from then on you just gain a whole new appreciation for the brand and what they achieved. Epic stuff.
Wow! That engine sounds AMAZING!!!!
Wonderful review! I was 17 when it was launched and it seemed like a landmark in design, engineering and performance. It was just beautiful, the eyelashes and slats, amazing details. It replaced Ferrari as my most coveted car. It was special to share that drive with you especially when you opened it up it seems to have an enthusiasm to really go like a race horse. Wonderful, thank you.
The most beautiful car ever made period
I can vouch for those roads around where Harry lives - some of them are truly outstanding drives.
Harry, with Gandini having penned so many amazing cars (Ferrari Dino, Countach, Iso Grifo, etc) where do you think the Muira ranks among Gandini's greatest designs? Thanks Harry. Fantastic video once again.
He did the Countach but the Dino you're thinking of (the pretty one) was done by Leonardo Fioravanti. Also, Giugiaro did the Iso Grifo, not Gandini. If we're talking Gandini's best design that is 100% his, it was to be the Countach or the Lancia Stratos.
@@sturroma Never knew Gandini penned the Lancia, whilst I was watching this I actually thought to myself - "the Muira's door window shape is virtually identical to the Stratos". :)
I believe that forms and colors have matched, and for the Miura that green matches perfectly the form of the car. Bravo Maestro!
You are so lucky Harry! I tried to ask dealer if I can borrow their classic cars and they hang up on me! 😂
Harry, you are living my dream, this is the car and that was the best Harry video ever, I wish it was possible to give 1.3 million thumbs up for every pound well spent by the lucky new owner, you show no fear when driving such an expensive icon and for that sir, I thank you
The Raquel Welch of sport exotics
Wow raquel welch .nice comparison dave.
Man, even today she still looks hot.
The Miura was one of my precious dinky toys when I was young. Since then, I have always considered the Miura as one of the most beautiful cars in the world. I am now 45 years old, and the Miura is still one of my exotic favorites. Will probably never be able to drive in one, let alone own one. But, what a beauty it is, especially in this original green color. Dear Harry, I love your reviews, but this is my favorite review. Thank you very much for this experience. If only I could experience this car from the passenger seat.....OMG, LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT
I love cars with classic design!!! Especially Lamborghini Miura!😗😗😗
Oh - What a GOOD video!
Harry, thanks for a brilliant review of one of the greatest sports cars ever built, both aesthetically and mechanically. This car came out while I was in college, and became my first real dream car. I happened to be in New York at the time of the 1968 auto show, and for the first time ever, traveled all the way across the city alone just to see this car. It was the same glorious green color as this one. A year later, I actually got to ride in one around the SCCA race course in Salt Lake City, one of the greatest moments of my life. Thanks for this wonderfully detailed review. I know quite a bit about this car, but you definitely filled in some blanks. Keep up the good work, Harry, you’re the best car reviewer on the net.👍
Wish he hadn't hung onto third so much! Kept waiting for him to change up into top. Such a relief when he did!
Muira + Harry = Perfection 👌🏻
Awesome vid Harry
The first time I saw a Miura was in Juins les Pins in August 1971. It was French blue...I was in my powder blue TR4...two days later I was overtaken on the Promenades des Anglais, Nice by a black one with gold wheels....it was a mesmerising experience then and the memory does not
fade.....
One of the most beautiful cars ever. This design started so much.
I come to Harry and Jay for the story behind the car and not just specs. That is why we all enjoy cars. It’s the memories they create.
Can I borrow your 1.3 Mill Lambo before u take delivery? Of course Harry!
Unbelievable! I admire Harry for driving the Miura as it should be driven.... and not being worried by the £1.3m value!
Hi,1.3 mill in safe hands ,driven for passion by a man who loves cars .thanks for the trip Harry and thank you to the new custodian of this engineering work of art ,Please put it in your lounge .
Incredible car, congrats for the owner trusting you to get a video for us. Remarkable!
The noise, that beautiful NOISE!!
Thanks for this Harry ... What an experience you shared ... A physical and noise near overload of 60s moving, mechanical, theatre ... Fabulous . Thank you ....and the new owner.
All of his car reviews are brilliant, so much better than any top gear or fifth gear car reviews
what a dream to be able to travel in time like this...
Absolutely and unarguably THE most Beautifully designed automobile EVER in all the world!!!
That's a fast weird looking tractor
That was tremendous. Harry must do a ton of research, but he just delivers all these facts and numbers like he knows it all off the top of his head. Absolute treat to watch.
Just ♥️ Lamborghini's. The Muira is Right up there with the best of the Classics from other manufacturers. This is the best color to own one, in my opinion. If $$ were no object 4 me l would fly over 2 Bolongna & beg the big boss 2 build me the "Muira Concept" that they completed some yrs back. When l was in my late teens l used 2 ride my racing bike 2 the canoe club 2 train ×2 a day. There was a car dealership full of the outrageous Countach.. Oh how l dreamed. Bucket list 4 me is 2 go 2 there museum.
Thx 4 the privilege of seeing this lovely classic & thx 2 the new owner 4 allowing u 2 show it off & drive it... excellent
Congratulations, Harry. You know to capture images from noble cars (Miura is the most beautiful Italian sport car ever made) as nobody knows.
The *second* mid engined road car after the Detomaso Vallelunga. Superb Miura review and absolutely one of the finest channels on RUclips.
Trusting new owner.. I love that he allows you to film this beautiful car.. Never driven anything more exotic than my previous TVRs including the rare 450 & 420 SEAC... Current Mk2 RS still makes me smile though. But one day I will pursue the dream with an Italian classic
Can't stop rewatching this... brilliant, Harry!
" On days like these ........ " That Matt Munroe song , ringing through my head while watching this video . This is why we love motorcars / driving . Great video . When these new electric vehicles ( glorified golf buggies ) become the norm , i think i'll quit driving !!
