Fight Forever looks like a legit mix of No Mercy and Here Comes The Pain/RAW 2. It looks really fun to play. It seems the moves are faster overall, allowing for a more action packed, arcade-like experience.

I want something different and this could be that different I grew up on this style as I played smackdown 2. ( Underrated game no one talks about smackdown 1 and 2 games everyone always talk about No mercy or HCTP.

@@yamiymikxxo2794 Depends on what gets duplicated from a game. Legends of Wrestlemainia was trash but the relieve , rewrite and redefine feature has so much potential. For me the video package is not such a big deal but for some that is a huge deal. Using the relieve rewrite feature you could do Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley to relieve then Brock Lesnar verse the Undertaker at wrestlemania to rewrite you could do a fatal 4 way elimination MMA match with Brock Lesnar , riddle, Dan Sever, ken shamrock and if you win you fight Jon Jones in the octogen to unlock Jon Jones and the Octogen . Or you can do The Rock vs John Cena to relieve, The rock vs Brock Lesnar for rewrite, The Rock vs Logan Paul vs Hulk Hogan vs Rowdy Rowdy Piper vs the miz in a redefine match and if you win you get a match with Batista in backstage area you win you unlock New York Time Square, Bar, and parking lot.
I love that both these games and their different styles exist. Same goes for WWE and AEW in real life

The animations should look good considering 2K is still using the same animations that got mocaped by THQ back in 2013 for the bulk of the moves and THQNordic is clearly using them as well but with the physics amped up like All Stars but not as absurd

The only new animations are the ones from certain wrestlers who’ve never been in a game before
2k is definitely a more realistic harder hitting style were as Fight Forever is more of a cartoonie arcade feel. I can't say one looks better than the other though. They both look good in their own way. It will all come down to what AEW ends up offering in their game experience.

I own 2k22 and 2k23, pre-ordered aew fight forever no regrets on having all.
Wwe has a lot more moves in terms of what it can offer in the in ring gaming aspect… the WWE game engine they using is way more advanced
@@chikileo1702 yeah we know that simulation based vs arcade based... You have examples or arcade based with the like of defjam, WrestleMania 2000, and the goat No mercy vs realistic sims like the smackdown series or those on game cube and raw 2 ect
I I haven't pre ordered a wrestling game since 2k14 and have bought one since 2k16 ... aew is a love letter to No Mercy fans and I'm all for it I hope the game gets supported for years to come
No mercy is overrated. Smackdown 2 is far superior and the fact you bandwagoners always cry No Mercy as being the best is nuts especially when the AEW looks at best a love letter to Smackdown 1 and 2 than No Mercy with the wackiness and creativity of fun in game as frankly it was never liked that in No Mercy and I still play both till this day so yeah evidence or proof of my opinion, just validated it. No Mercy was great in technicality but limited in just general flow of gameplay as it seems like people forgot how janky No Mercy was. In Smackdown 2, simple typical “arcade” fighting feeling that had a great flow and well it has connected on to this day as unfortunately wwe 2k23. Being honest I get annoyed when people want a remaster of an old game when it is not necessary

All the AEW moves are hand-crafted instead of mo-cap. A lot of them look REALLY good.

They share alot of animations, which isn't a surprise. Although I like the more exaggerated execution and selling in FF, it reminds me of HCTP.
I like how in Fight Forever the moves seems 'quick and smooth' really made the match seem so fast paced

I prefer Fight Forever. 2K tries to go for realism, but doesn't always nail it. It can ruin immersion, whereas Fight Forever is always just an animation

I believe 2k is trying to be too realistic with everything, they just need better move sells and I would say its pretty good. But I do like this quite a bit more.

I play one match on 2k and want to turn it off cos it’s slow and boring af lol aew fight forever is more realistic with chain wrestling thumbtacks and loads of weapons and interactions where you can’t do jack in 2k23 besides play a slow boring match that isn’t even that realistic and fun to play 😂

Looks even better in comparison with 2k23. It's the first game for aew. It looks more fluid, but some animations are to fast.

I had all the N64 games back in the day... IIRC it was 4 games. WCW vs NWO, WCW vs NWO Revenge, Wrestlemania 2000, and the last one No Mercy. I have been waiting years for this type of game to make a comeback. The graphics are definitely better in the 2k games, however I can accept the graphics being a bit more on the cartoony side IF the gameplay is smooth like the old school N64 games. I still remember getting together with all my friends to watch Wrestling on TV then playing the games afterwards. One of the titles used to let you make custom belts that we would put on the line every week against each other.... good times!!! I am very excited for this game. :)
2k looks like they are doing the moves underwater. Going to have to go with FF even if it is a little too arcadey for me
I just think this goes to show what aew game has done right. It doesnt want to be a sport sim trying to replicate exact intricacies of a fight. Its more the arcadey style so many of us miss from no mercy and HCTP days. Hallelujah!

One is throwback arcade styled and one is realistic simulation. They aren't really comparable. I love 2k23 and I can't wait to go pick up my pre-order for Fight Forever.

I like both. AEW seems more fast pace. I don't think there will ever be a better game than No Mercy in my opinion but I'm glad to have a second option. Overall wrestling games are improving. I just hope when this AEW game comes out its nothing like the TNA wrestling game. Only thing i don't like about the AEW game is the skateboard. That's sort of childish. As far as 2k23 i could careless about the my rise. They can't seem to get it right. It's stiff. The storylines aren't all that great.

graphics were never AKI's strengths. No Mercy graphics looked worse than all other wrestling games from that same time, even though it was the 4th game in the series.

Fight Forever looks better to me and I can't wait for it. I never played No Mercy but its got a HCTP vibe to it and I loved that game

I think 2k23 looks smoother, and it's more slowed down, which makes it look more real, and less arcadey. In saying that, I think that Fight Forever is going to be more fun overall, because it's more of a shoutout to WWF No Mercy than anything, and that game is one of the best wrestling games of all time! I am psyched to get my hands on this one!
I just don’t get people that say graphics are not important. Yes they are when it comes to sports games. Do you not like to be immersed. Like you are watching the real thing?
I like the more simulator style of WWE but I’ll do anything for a decent wrestling game on switch so AEW is a buy regardless.

No ratings wrestlers have different buffs based on wrestling style but one is not better than the other
Yes they showed that when you go through career mode or whatever it's called in this game you can increase stats of your CAW.
Its perfectly fine if you are an AEW fan and you're excited for their game. I am excited to play it myself. However the lies have to stop. No way anybody is looking at FF and saying its better in any way, damn sure not smoother. Let's be honest

This maybe me just use to the way the 2k moves are done .... but I'm not a fan of how fast the AEW are .... not saying it's a bad thing .... there is definitely a bit of a adjustment that will happen when ever I get Fight Forever

AEW is based on Virtual Pro Wrestling 2's style of mechanics. With that, I believe people are not going to really look back on the 2k games after learning the mechanics for AEW. It'll just be a technically superior "fighter game" while also being accessible.
My only wish is that they include the 'Shoot fighting style' from VPW2 and maybe get an actual MMA to appear in the game. That would be so fun. The shoot fighting system wasn't featured in "No Mercy", but it does a lot of freshen up the gameplay. You can do your own strike combinations and shift into a grapple and whatnot, it's more flexible than simple wresting and counters.
I disagree. AEW doesnt have alot going for it outside of appealing to 30 somethings than remember No Mercy.

You guys who don't know AKI and those older games just don't get it. They're not just good wrestling games, they're outstanding 'fighting games' made by people with legit talent. They have literal Hideyuki Iwashita directing this new game.
They're as iconic to people that understand that as something like Street Fighter is. The underlying mechanics and formula are brilliantly designed.
Also, people, even younger folks know Fire Pro World, that formula hasn't changed in over a decade. VPW2 and No Mercy have a formula like that and soon to be AEW Fight Forever.
Def Jam: Vendetta actually has a lot of the same mechanics and was worked on by Hideyuki Iwashita but the rap theme and whatnot didn't do it for a lot of people but the gameplay is better than basically any of the newer 2K wrestling games.

Pretty clear that Wwe 2k looks better, since i like the sim/realistic type of wrestling games more than arcade types, but AEW FF looks promising and frickin fun
I never wanted a simulation wrestling game. Always loved no mercy and fire pro wrestling for their arcade style action.
AEW definitely has the better pop up powerbomb animation. WWE completely screwed up that move lol. Both games do good at representing the moves though, some look cleaner on different moves too. One important thing I found is that AEW shows females who are thicc in the game, WWE females are just generic build only, yeah yeah I know but it's true for Abaddon.

Both are fantastic games. Can't wait to finally own them both. Beat of both worlds and a fantastic time to be a wrestling game fan.
This shows just how similar they are. The only real difference is in the art. Going bsck and forth. It was hard to tell the difference.
IMO since I haven't played wrestling styled arcade games in ages, WWE takes the crown for mat physics; AEWs mat is kinda odd unless that's how those games work, everything else I like

Graphics don't matter when gameplay is the same with WWE games. AEW is about gameplay the way it should be. People don't buy games to stare at graphics.
AEW Fight Forever has way more excitement over WWE 2K with how smooth it is. WWE games now is too sluggish.

Fight Forever animations are much more snappy, I personally prefer them slower like in the 2k but both are fine.

FF is more fast-paced arcadey fun, whereas 2K is the simulation-style one
The 2K series really isn't a simulation anymore. WWE 2K22 added a new combo system and sped up the gameplay. It's slower than Fight Forever, but still not exactly realistic.
If you want an actual wrestling simulator, I recommend Fire Pro Wrestling World. In that game you actually have to sell for your opponent, and the way the cpu behaves is far more accurate to how they wrestle in real life.

WWE is way more realistic and smoother,
However for some moves WWE is way too slow whilst AEW has the hard hitting factor gives it more of a finisher feel
One other important thing, WWE models in game seem to float a little off the mat during moves, AEW seems more realistic because the talent doesn't float or look cheesy in certain moves.
