- AEWs video game Fight Forever is back for season 4 which means I’m back as well to do my AEW fight forever seasonly review and talk about the new season, the new characters, the new maps, all the new features and everything that has changed in the game… but also everything that hasn’t changed in the game… so like the video and let’s talk about it let’s talk about AEW Fight Forever Season 4 and why this game just needs to be stopped.

Honestly I think it comes down to how they build the characters on top of having a small team.
This game was fun for about two evenings, then I was done with it. Too bad Blockbuster is gone, AEW: Fight Forever is the definition of a "rental" game.

4 seasons of DLC. They won. Dilate and Cope.
The staggered character release seems reminiscent of Street Fighter 5 and 6 and when you consider how much a fan Omega is of Street Fighter, you quickly realize why the reason they went this route even if it makes no sense since fighting characters are way more advanced than wrestling characters in video games.
Also it makes no sense to do that since this is a game based on an actual tv product. You want to be able to emulate what you see on tv into the game. Very dumb decision to put active guys you watch on tv behind a pay wall months down the line.
Yeah, its not like each wrestler has 20+ moves and has to be balanced for competing with a cast of 20 unique characters. Wrestling characters all play the same... They might as well release every jobber on the roster. But I doubt they wanna pay royalties for that, so we get 3 big names and that's it.
I don't think AEW has much say as to when the characters are put out. That is on the game studio.
Did you know: based on Adam Copelands actual AEW Titantron and Fight Forevers entrance system… you wouldn’t even hit the ‘on this day’ part of the entrance theme before the entrance was done ingame.
Plus he doesn’t even have that theme in the game they gave him some generic music.

I was stoked for fight forever when it was first announced. Then the footage came out and it looked cool.
Then I got it. I persevered with it and got the platinum for it after about 30 hours. I then felt I gave it enough go to justify my opinion that the game fucking sucks. I immediately uninstalled it and have no interest in returning and over priced dlc doesn't change my views.
In theory the constant updates are good however the price means no and the fact the game is shit is also a no.
"fun for a week at most" is the perfect review for it.
Apparently a lot of the dlc was actually originally suppose to be in the game according to the one of the developers. But they said how Tony and aew made them rush it out and they couldn't fit everything in on time
they wanted to recreate the feeling of old wrestling games like no mercy, i guess that includes playing it for a weekend then returning it to the video store after

It’s a free upgrade on Xbox as well. My fiancé got me a Series X for Christmas, and I already had the game for Xbox One.
If they really want sales to increase they should reissue it with a new cover featuring Cody, Punk, Jade and Andrade. Maybe people will think it's a WWE game.

Samoa Joe debuted in April 2022, over a full year before Fight Forever came out. He should've been base roster at launch. Not a season 4 DLC drop nearly 2 years after release. That's pathetic

It took almost a year to actually drop an actual DLC in edge. Other than that they’ve been selling active wrestlers, outdated/fake arenas, caw parts for a pathetic creation suite & old game modes that should’ve all been in the game when they charged a ridiculous 60 dollars for it. All they’ve done is blatantly steal, AEW Charge Forever

The CAW in the vanilla version is terrible, there's barely any choice. Doesn't look like it's improved much by season four.
I love AEW when I heard they were doing a wrestling game I was stoked thinking "Oh my god! If they care as much as they do about wrestling and it's being made by Yukes then it might be better then the WWE 2K games!" but then they said it'll be like No Mercy... That was a major red flag because other then nostalgia, it objectively sucks but I was still hopeful. Then the first bit of footage was shown off... Another MASSIVE red flag. But I said to myself it's only Alpha/Beta footage the visuals and animations will get cleaned up. Then the Final release trailer was show and I was blown away that it took YEARS to make this massive piece of shit. I eventually pirated it and even though I essentially stole it I still feel like I was entitled to a refund. Even stolen this game is fucking trash and not worth anyones time.
I really hope that whatever you get from these videos covers the amount you've spent on the game and DLC because even bashing it this is the most anyone promotes the god damn game and TK should be paying you for it.
I was also looking forward to buying this game. The biggest red flag for me was watching a reviewer show only 7 match types. What the hell am I supposed with that ? That would’ve been acceptable in the 90s, not 2023 !

Unfortunately for AEW, this game is beyond saving.
So a full game is $35 but each season is $23 for 3 wrestlers and a new arena? So the game and 4 seasons at full price is damn near $130 like how come no one been calling this out thats 2k levels of scummy?

I bought this a game at launch and bought all the DLC and almost a year later I can clearly say that I have watched more CPU vs CPU matches than I have played the game myself. Let’s just say I can never have quality matches without being frustrated by its AI and pin system. Just holding onto hope as this point.

The gameplay itself is on point. There just isnt enough to do to keep interest. Fight Forever to me is a great foundation for a future game. It needs a expansive creation suite, a way more dynamic career mode and something similar to Universe Mode. Bell to bell though and the gameplay is far superior to the WWE game so that is a start. They need to move on to the next game. Even if they didnt break even with this game the foundation is absolutely there to make it worth it to invest in a sequel with a updated roster.

This is not comparable to what you get out of wwe2k you get at least allot more wrestlers out of the pack than like 1-3 wrestlers from a season pack
At least for $40 you’re getting a grand total of like 20+ wrestlers and other things… and they all aren’t main roster superstars who should’ve all been in the game anyways.
This game was fun for 1 month then i got bored of it and the season passes are terrible. If rte wasn't the only way to upgrade CAWs I would've played it so much longer cause i could've extended the roster

Cody not being on BTE anymore (upside was being on Sammy's Vlog & those guys gave us some of the best vlogs), Brodie Lee's Death, Malakai Black joining AEW, toxic "Fans" ruining the home experience with their stupid entitled behavior towards Cody instead of being Wrestling Fans & just going with the flow, not instantly forcing their crap & finally Cody leaving AEW with AEW becoming more & more everything that they never wanted to be. Rest of the Elite totally becoming the new Clique, not being professional enough to make something out of the CM Punk Beef etc.
It went totally to crap after Brodies Death & Cody leaving.
Screwing up storylines / forgetting them & not using the momentum of the fans (for example, Brian Cage quitting his beef with Sting & Darby while still on Team Taz etc.) AND then, this game... So glad we are all just Wrestling Fans & not Fans of a specific Company. Was so hyped when AEW started because of the different roster far from mainstream they had. At least it gave us for a very short time jacked Joey Janella after they made him leave 😅 Also it was in the Indies but Dude looked solid.
The main issue with the game I feel is the DLC that they’re giving should be the freebies as most of the DLC Feels like they should be in the game already as default roster members I know AEW is a newer company and all but they can still contract legends for DLC or indie stars,I feel that prospect is what excited me and many the most when they announced dlc was gonna be a prominent feature in fight forevers life cycle due to AEW’s more open relationship with the wrestling industry

I got this game from ps plus and me and my friend have a tradition that we try out every ps plus game even if they look absolutely horrible. This game even though we’ve played only a couple minutes and were planning to play more i gotta say that this game is the perfect example of a so bad it’s fun game. Me and my friends are all fighting game players and so we thought we might have a little fun with it. I had to stop after like 2 minutes because I couldn’t stop laughing my ass off 😂 it’s so incredibly bad but the goofy animations, the lack of knowledge we had and the fact we were just button mashing made this game so entertaining, i wish they made it more of a gang beasts type of game because nobody can take this game so seriously.

I enjoyed Fight Forever but it’s definitely the worst of all the AKI engine wrestling games. You can tell AEW wanted to bring that feeling back but really bastardized it more than anything
no they didn't bastardize anything. It's exactly like those wcw games. The only difference is what most remember is from nostalgia, when compared to today's wrestling games, those games look like hot garbage.
AEW banked on those who are nostalgic with updated graphics and many realized nostalgia can be a bitch.

I don't what they expect in continue to add content to the game, maybe to do a full version with all the expasions when they finish for good, but even then, it is a cleary dead game. They should at least make like 10 caracters before a new season pass and drop all at once, plus make add comunity creations and new mods that are wrestling related and not silly multiplayers.
I actually played and can't really customize that much, basically like it's older WWE games like raw 2 or here's the pain rip-off best way to describe it idk
