OK, I know what it is - your attitude! I love your attitude. It is so repectful and lighthearted. You are loving and intelligent. Thanks for what you are doing; you have a real gift for this.
I couldn’t agree more. Your love for plants really makes you glow and your kindness shines through all your videos. Thank you for sharing your plant journey with us 💚
During this pandemic plants have been my savior as they give me a reason to get out of bed every morning just knowing that they are waiting and thriving in my care. Right now we are all experiencing emotional isolation and disconnect more than ever before. For me, surrounding myself with vibrant , happy plants does wonders to help me get through each day. We are under the impression that they need us to survive...it could be just the opposite. They have been here on this planet way before us and will be here after we are gone. We are just guests in their home. By nurturing them they are teaching us how to become better people. They’ve taught me to have a thankful heart ♥️
So very true...being plant parent have taught me many virtues ...its also amazing how the love for plants bring people together from every corner of the world. Ive always planted but this pandemic got me into indoor plants.. still learning .....still killing ...but m learning thanks to you and people like you. Tq for the tips ..knowledge and laughter.
Thank youu. Im also learning something new everyday. They are quite fascinating and I hope more people can pick up this hobby and diversity plants on our homes
I found your channel a couple months ago and I have been absolutely loving it! I am a new plant parent and I have learned so much great info on how to care for them, but I think my favorite is when you do the tours of the plant shows, so many plants I never knew I needed!
Sean you are awesome. After many years of not taking care of my plants when I found you I was inspired to take care of my plants again. Thank you and love your wisdom. I am from San Diego. Take care and keep sharing your knowledge🙏👍
Hii u make so much sense ..i am learning so much myself with my small collection of indoor plants...i started because of covic and have 160 now inside my apartment..yes it takes work and time but is so rewarding!!! Thank you.. from a plant friend from australia..
Funny enough for me it was wheatgrass, watching it grow for my cats lol and at the time I was going through something stressful so I bonded with some plants that were left outside to die, I started caring for them, lazily at first, but more over time as I saw them survive in spite of my novice care. Now I’m in love and grateful - love your videos
I begun to take care of a plant about 4 month ago, with some sansevierias which I got from a friend. That friend knows that I've no experience of planting, and so Sansevieria was a good start for me. Love them since then... ❤❤❤
I have a pothos that must be about 20 yrs old or more. My son gave it to me when I got my first office. It goes to every place I go, it has grown over walls where it left marks and has parented many more! It's sentimental because my son gave it to me. I have to tell you, the talk you gave at the end, to have compassion, to be kind, etc. was priceless! Wonderful words for us all. You're one of those people who attracts others because of your heart, and I like to think that like attracts like, so that's why so many of us watch your videos!!! You also talk about your mistakes and how to learn from them. And put me on the list for a Gloriosum!!! One of my wish list plants!! LOL
My family calls the second plant a Christmas cactus. There are a ton of varieties for the different holidays. My mom has my Gramma’s plant after my Gramma passed away. The plant is well over 100 years old, and huge. I took 3 cuttings last spring, let them callous for a week, put them in water, and now I’ve almost got a whole plant! They propagate super fast. It’s also getting ready to bloom soon too! If you want your plant to bloom, put it in a dark closet for a couple weeks, then bring it out. It tricks the plant into thinking the season has changed. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!!!
If you want your schlumbergera to bloom, try placing it in a dark sunless room for 7 days -- when the soil is on the dry side. Then put it back where you had it and see if flower buds start forming.
I love your channel so much! Wonderful philosophy, beautiful aesthetic, broad diversity of information & your fantastic personality, make this channel truly special. The growth of your channel is a testament that you’re doing it right. Thank you for your time & effort. Keep up the great work & you will continue to be rewarded 👍🏻🌱👍🏻
I have loved plants ever since I was a child and I have to say, they have loved me back. By the way, I love your plant selection, pots and interesting accessories. I also like the arrangement and composition.
1st, my philodendron is very healthy but the leaves are not splitting all the way to the edge.☹️ 2nd, I like the art on your walls.😀Finally, are you a buddhist?😉 I like your philosophy.👏🏾
I just love watching your plant videos... it relaxes me and inspires me to be brave enough to propagate. I get so excited when you have the same plant I do. I have a variegated umbrella tree too (schefflera)! 😃
I suspect that your Monstera Deliciosa is actually a Monstera Borgisiana! you should look into it! much rarer and in my opinion, the more beautiful of the two species. I am a big fan of your videos! (:
This world needs more people like you!! Great video, thank you. Here in America the sheffler plant is called an "Umbrella Tree". Maybe that is a better name for you to use. I am on my 2nd round with house plants, and the Marble Queen Pothos was my first plant this time. I now have about 50 house plants in only a few months since covid started. You have a lot to teach and offer the rest of us, so, Thank you! I look forward to many more videos from you.
Listening to your holistic view reminds me of a documentary I saw a year or two ago called 'The biggest little farm'. A super beautiful and compelling story about just how interconnected we all are and how important diversity is to maintaining balance...not just in nature but in the broader context of society and the world. Such a valuable philosophy that I wish more people took to heart.
My first plants were over 30 years ago... my grandma gave me a Jade plant and an African Violet and my aunt gave me a cutting of her purple tradescantia zebrina. I've had houseplants and outdoor gardens ever since.
Whoaa isnt it amazing how we can remember our first plants after so long... I hope those plants are still alive and well divided/shared! I cant wait to have an old plant collection it would make such a good story to pass down.
tbh i was surprised you had so few subscribers when i found your channel a few weeks ago. You seem very professional and put alot of effort into the subtitles and lengthy videos ☺️

Lessons learned, so valuable. Great message at the about the environment, mistakes and forgiveness, we all need a little bit of your zen. Also, cool shirt, and love the little people statues close to the Ivy.
Yaay! I am glad you are getting recognized for your great talent and easy to listen to voice for all the info you give. I am so in love with all ur plants names for each one. Celia is beautiful 😅 Well deserved and worthy of million plus!!💯
I loved this video! I feel like my plant collection has taught me similar lessons. My first plant was actually two tall ferns when I was a teenager that managed to thrive on my sporadic care. Haha.
Yay! I am glad there is a video. I was worried that there wasn't going to be a video this week since all that happened last week. 🥰 Haven't even watched the video. Just saying Hi.
To answer your questions. What got me started is that I wanted to feel like back home. I am from Puerto Rico, always surrounded by green. My parents home was filled with orchids. Humongous Aloe. Snake Plants growing wild in nature. Lots of pothos. When I moved to the US, specially during winter, I missed the green. And only had a simple pothos, spider plants, sanseveria and a ponytail palm tree. Once I bought my house, I got a monstera. Once I was settled at me home. My income was secured. I only spend what I could and the collection grew. But my original plants will always be treasured. 🥰❤ I ramble alot sorry. Hope you are well and we can see you in Insta soon.
I like your message with this plant video-be patient etc. unfortunately I live in New York so my plants don’t have the most ideal conditions for growing but I do have grow lights and a humidifier which helps. I just discovered your channel and so I subscribed. I too seriously started with plants since COVID started and I now have about 45. I’m going to see how they do this winter before I start getting more or at least that’s what I tell myself. 🤣
I've came to your channel because of the plants, but I will definitely stay because you're such a beautiful soul!! I love the way you see things and it gives me so much joy to see people like you! Thank you so much 🌸 (PS: my first plant [that survived😅] was a small peace lily, nothing "special". She almost died, but we made it through together. She's so much bigger now (probably ~5 years old) and is flowering right now. 🌺 She's no crazy fancy plant, but I appreciate her so much! She gave me the confidence to keep trying and now I have ~40 plants in my tiny room ♥🌱)
Whoaaa you have such a way with words Dina. Thank you. Omg I love peace lilies too they are some of my first few plants too. They grow so reliably and can withstand so many conditions!
I still remember when I was in high school (2008) I bought Sansevieria Moonshine from Purwokerto - Central Java and took it to my hometown in West Java. what the heck happened to me? LOL But well I just love Sansevieria and my favorite one is Sansevieria Pagoda. Thank you for your experience of planting, Sean! 💖
The philosophy part feels a bit like what should go into the Shavasana pose during my yoga class - when the instructor will tell us to think about positive thoughts and be kind and appreciate things around us. This is so good 🙆🏻♀️🥰 we are all helping with species conservation !!
I too started seriously collecting house plants this year...maybe a reaction to quarantining?? A Monstera, String of Pearls and a Ponytail Palm were my first purchases. Well on my way to a Plant Mom of many many more !! Then I added an Alocasia, Orchids, Spider plants, Peperomia Piccolo, Andansonii, sansevieria, Umbrella plant, zebra plant, anthurium, Brasil, and Bonsai. I have a wish list almost as long. I tried a needle point ivy and promptly killed it...not sure why or how??
Whoaaaa it looks like you have tons of plant families with different sets of care. Awesome! Ivy’s are indestructible but very prone to spidermites (or so I heard), perhaps this was the culprit?
The variegated dischidia oiantha is one of my very favorites of my plants. I get the all white vines also. I just leave them. They grow fine and add contrast and interest to the plant. The green color is much brighter when not in a lot of sun. Good choice Sean. Congrats on 20k.❤️✌🏻🍃🌱🌿
Always your plan! Propogate! Yes! I grow mine in straight coco coir because they really hate wet feet. So glad to see it because it is not commonly spotlighted . I love the feel of it!!
Hello Sean,Hope you're doing good. Thanks for the pleasant video ,as always. Oh btw, congrats for the +20K...and it's just the beginning...😁😉 Have a nice day.
Sean thank you for your in depth videos. I fo learn so much. This video is watched today was no exception. I wanted to ask you what yhe little figurines are in the vid and where you found them as well as the painting on the wall of the tribal woman with the mask. The taste is next level . Thank you !!💋 Love your channel. Thank tou
Hello, I cannot remember where we got them from but its from our years of travelling around the world as a family. It may have come from Bali or South Africa.
Hi love the video's, About your Christmas cactus I have one and to get the it to flower subject it to low temperatures at night though the season and it should start to produce flower buds, 👍 PAUL.
OMG another video that i 🧡 and I laugh everytime i read "butchered it" in the video caption 😄😄😁. I got meranthae tri colors for my first plant and it is so hard to take care (i was so new at this plant world). I got my research from your channel sooooooo i will be waiting for your 30k subscribers video anytime soon
My first plant was a Hydrangea and I killed it. Then I killed a Cactus 😅️ After several years I had success with a Sansevieria 💪️ And the real game has begun when I managed to keep my Ficus Benjamina alive
OK, I know what it is - your attitude! I love your attitude. It is so repectful and lighthearted. You are loving and intelligent. Thanks for what you are doing; you have a real gift for this.

Thank you so much 😌 and welcome to the channel
Me too! It makes me super happy to watch you. You give me confidence to propagate.
Your country has the perfect weather for tropical plants. Do you know how we feel in winter time. Praying our plants stay alive
Lol, how are your plants condition now?
I can imagine the struggle outside tropical regions! I lived in the States for 10 years. Id imagine growlights and humidifiers are very helpful there.

They are good lifelong companions that require minimal care... because they grow so slowly each new growth is a surprise. 😌
I love how you actually say that the fiddle leaf fig is very difficult to care for and honestly does seem quite overhyped

Thank you 😌🙏🏽
The variegated dischidia oiantha is one of my very favorites of my plants. I get the all white vines also. I just leave them. They grow fine and add contrast and interest to the plant. The green color is much brighter when not in a lot of sun. Good choice Sean. Congrats on 20k.❤️✌🏻🍃🌱🌿
Thank you so much. Ill try to keep these white vines then! But I have a feeling this is very pot bound and I will upsize and divide/propagate soon 😌
Always your plan! Propogate! Yes! I grow mine in straight coco coir because they really hate wet feet. So glad to see it because it is not commonly spotlighted . I love the feel of it!!

Hello, I cannot remember where we got them from but its from our years of travelling around the world as a family. It may have come from Bali or South Africa.

My first plant was a Hydrangea and I killed it. Then I killed a Cactus 😅️ After several years I had success with a Sansevieria 💪️ And the real game has begun when I managed to keep my Ficus Benjamina alive
Whoaaaa hydrangea and cactus are difficult plants! You started in a challenging position 😅
my first three plants were a false bird of paradise, pink polka dot plant, and impatiens! all still living 7 months later :)
Hide your christmas cactus in a cold dark place for like 12 hr a day for 6 weeks. It will bloom!
