    Hi Sean another good topic👍. Most of the nursery growers here in US use cocopeat and slow release fertilizer on almost all houseplants even succulents🤔 so they dont have to keep watering the plants.(Base on plants I purchased) And they are always on plastic pots, and they do fairly well on warmer months but detrimental on plants during winters. So I find using different soil mix on different species of plants save my collections. (Just common plants🤗)

    • @onlyplants
      @onlyplants  3 года назад +1

      Yeap the nurseries there seems to grow everything in a massive scale and efficiency is their top priority. Most plants can adapt to the potting mix in which they were propagated into. But they can do even better when given potting mix that resemble closely their natural habitat.

    • @onlyplants

      I have never measured ratios before… usually go by feeling 😅 fertilizers are important for herbs, they are quite heavy feeders. Chemicals are harmless for us but it may not contain all the micro nutrients. Compost or animal waste fertilizer remains the best ones for nutrients.
