- Instead of trying to refute all the “too old to be president” slams, Joe Biden must embrace them during his upcoming State of the Union address.
Reagan actually had a great moment when during a presidential debate with Walter Mondale, when asked about his age, he replied that he “would not exploit his opponent’s youth and inexperience for political purposes.”
There is no circumstance where Biden would be clever enough to do that
A 73 year old president would be a breath of fresh air at this point.

@@modickens1272you are correct, but too high and the elbows are too bent making it excessively tiring to bear weight through the arms and/or making it more tempting to walk with the walker too far out in front where it's more likely to scoot out from under them if they bear weight through it. A lot of people get the hunch before they need a walker and the walker has to be sized accordingly.

Exactly, with age comes knowing who to hire and help you make decisions.
It’s interesting how we have a minimum age to be President (and other elected offices), but maximum ages for certain government jobs. Maybe we should have a maximum age, or mandatory retirement ages, for certain elected positions. Say for POTUS it should be minimum of 35 and maximum to run (not hold office) of say 67. But I’m a huge fan of term limits, and we’ll never see those so long as the people in charge of making the law are the ones holding the gig.
Incidentally, the German Supreme Court equivalent has an age range of 40-68 (and a total maximum serving time of 12 years).

People age at very different rates. There are frail 50 YOs in cognitive decline, and vibrant 80 YO distance runners with zero brain shrinkage. An arbitrary age limit makes no sense. Let the voters decide. I choose Old over Crazy any day!

when asked if Elon should be investigated biden had a very thorough and nuanced answer . he had no cognitive decline in that statement which was a couple minutes. i forget names all the time and even lose my train of thought in the middle of a sentence sometimes. it happens. yet i have no problem thinking things through at my company with a hundred employees.
In many cultures, the elderly are revered. They are respected and people turn to them for wisdom and guidance. Our culture acts like old people have outlived their usefulness.

Wise elderly people who still have their minds. People accept they aren’t going to be physically quick….but you want a capable mind full of wisdom. Biden seems to have dementia, which will only deteriorate….he will not be able to carry out 4 years. So the race is really harris vs trump.
Yes older people should be respected and at times revered,but an elderly president who clearly is suffering an obvious cognitive decline as well as clear physical deficiencies should in our best interests not run for reelection.

The bigger problem with that is despite all this PR, going on late night TV, starting a Tik Tok, etc. it's not really changing public opinion about Biden so I'm not sure what they are trying to accomplish. Is there anyone who perceives the age gap between Biden and Trump as significantly different. Why is the age thing so focused on Biden. He may have one of his infamous gaffes now and then, but at least he is generally coherent. Trump....not so much. Mentally, he seems much, much older than Biden.
