How Steve Carrell shifted from being a light fun actor to a power house of emotions kind of actor is just mind blowing
Steve Carrell is just an awesome actor. No other reason.
Brion little miss sunshine
You should check out little miss sunshine
Brion He played such a good asshole loved it
Awais Ahmed well people need to stop underestimating comedians
It's not about the actors, but the message in itself: drug addiction in current times. It's a serious issue that needs to br addressed ASAP. Hope this gets nominated at the very least.
Carlos Villarreal yep my daughter is a cocaine addict. It’s a lifetime fight.

I know this is a late response, but his yell there hit me hard. I made some dumb decisions when I was younger, and being the stubborn young person I was, clashed with my dad a lot and that's exactly how he would yell. Scared out of his mind for me but being forced to barely hold it together.

I FEEL SO TERRIBLE SHSHSHSJJSSHSH
I SWEAR TO GOD YES I JUST START GAGGING REWATCHING IT
I'm really mad at the Academy... Timothèe didn't even get a nomination for best supporting actor...
I know it's like this entire film been ignored from awards...
This boy deserves so much. He deserves all the awards.
*Timothée. You had the wrong accent

I find it adorable that Jack Dylan Grazer plays a young Timothée Chalamet. That’s so cute.
OML RIGHT I NOTICED THAT TOO
He does kinda remind me of timmy
This movie is literally so beautiful, I cried throughout it and the father - son relationship, trust, family problems, how drugs can affect your health are portrayed so beautifully in this..the part where timotheé's character bonded with his step mother and his half siblings is just beautiful, you can literally feel the helplessness felt not only by the father but his whole family , how drugs nearly destroyed such an amazing artist, Every parent should watch it, and everyone should learn how drugs, alcohol or addiction of any kind can not only destroy you but the people around you. It's a growing problem and there should be communication about it. It's a must watch with an awesome cast, they really lived their characters.
Just leave us alone. This movies dumb. Let him go do the drugs if he wants to do them. Sobriety was the lowest part of my life, I was in the 7th circle of hell. I finally realized sobriety wasn’t for me. And it’s funny because most people feel the same way because what do people do for fun? Drink. Drink and hang with friends, drink and party, drink and paint, drink and get married, drink and celebrate. Some of us maybe don’t like to drink.
Have you read Tweak?
@@diaryofarealmom3264 that's the thing about being an addict because we don't want it and don't have a choice. Some of us do recover and so grateful that our families are still there when we're ready to clean up our wreckage
it's a great movie to watch with your kids before they could be exposed to drugs. I know when I was a child, we learned about drugs in school, we received some magazines and some teachers talked to us about it, also parents a little bit, and it just stayed with me and I always had a strong belief that I would never do drugs, and never did.
Kids need these types of things early on.
I hope this movie helps people understand how next level of an actor Timothée Chalamet is. At such a young age too. We had the young Leo's and Pitts of my generation growing up in the 90's. He's this generations. I know this says "Starring Steve Carell" but I think Steve is just along for the ride. In my opinion he deserved the Oscar for Actor last year for Call Me by Your Name. My opinion but he got robbed. Looking forward to this one.
I wouldn't say robbed because it was an unusually strong category this year. Everyone in it was amazing, and I can't say in justice that Gary Oldman didn't deserve an Oscar. I think the Academy rightly saw that they'd have time to give Chalamet the award, while Gary Oldman should have had it long before now, Churchill was just the last in a long list of wonderful performances for him, while CMBYN was one of the first of a long list to come.
This movie Deserves an Oscar nomination !!! Fine performance by STEVE CARELL . I wonder how can actors play drug addicts so well ?
Being sleazy with sexuality just to suck up to the liberal Hollywood and win an Oscar rarely ever works, even the liberals there don't fall for tricks like that, especially when playing a butt bandit. Hell, he was barely okay in this movie - Carrell took the spotlight, as more often than not comedians do in serious movies. Give a comedian a serious role and watch him shine.
Put some respect on Steve’s name. I know he’s primarily a comedic actor, but that man can act in any genre.
@@halane4790 I agree 100%... being nominated at such a young age was a huge deal in itself. I think people forget that. But I definitely think he should have been nominated for this movie too. For that, I would be more inclined to say he was robbed.
Timothée Chalamet is a STAR. His performance in 'Call me by your name' took the movie to another level. Go for the Academy Award!

I'm not watching call me by your name hes under age in that and they think it's ok 17 year old dating a 30 year old so wrong
AJMitchell I think you need to do some research. You’re right he was 17, his partner was not 30 he was 24. Also you should know that the legal age of consent in Italy, where it was held, is 14 years old. I don’t agree with it but it’s THEIR law. You need to understand that not everything in the United States is applicable through out the world. Different countries, Different laws.

I read the book, it’s so good yet so heartbreaking at the same time. You can really sense David’s desperation for wanting to help Nic but failing to do so everytime and eventually deciding that he’s unable to. I know for a fact that I’m gonna cry with this movie and I wanna watch it so bad, by the trailer I can already tell that the performances are going to be outstanding. Can’t wait.
I cried my eyes out...great movie!!!
Both books were amazing (the fathers and the sons) the film did not disappoint either.

1.Steve Carrell
2.Timothée Chalamet
3.Jack Dylan Grazer
And the story abt this movie is interesting too!
Literally same
Watched this in health class today because my teacher wanted to show us how addictions can hurt, not just the user, but the family too. The music and sound effects really set the tone and it was just so intense to watch some parts I had to look away and I almost cried at some parts. The movie was enough for me to get a headache and get dizzy. It’s hard to wrap my head around this movie. It’s so well made. They did an awesome job on it
Drug addiction in one's family is a tragedy and I will definitely watch this film.

Duke V I have a wife and child. So yeah....i do have a life.
Coming from my own personal experience chalamet absolutely nailed active addiction, the mannerisms, delusional thoughts and actions, it was honestly extremely impressive his performance, overall plot isn’t a Hollywood story it’s just real and if you know anyone close going through addiction this movie will be more than relatable
After seeing this movie, you will completely forget about Steve Carell as a funny guy. This movie will show you that he's truly, truly an expert in the art of acting and this can only come from a soulful person.
In regard to the movie, this is the most true and immersive film I've ever seen about drug addiction. So many times in life, as a parent myself, I look at my own beautiful boy, age 12. He's light, funny, caring, sweet, deep thinking and loving. He is the very embodiment of beauty in this world, to me, obviously. This movie showed me that, even when your child is like this, the drug addiction, has nothing to do with upbringing and environment. It's just a dangerous, dark snake, lying in wait and if you happen to get bitten, you are done for, sadly.
timothee, and jack grazer playing young timothee? yes please
They look so munch alike
Russian film
Is that who the young version of Nick was? I was convinced it was the kid from “Twentieth Century Women” because he looked just like Chalamet. But that movie is like two years old by now, so they’d probably look around the same age anyway.
My dad dealt with substance abuse for years. He hates himself for what he became and for abandoning my sister and I. He never knew about this movie until he saw a trailer for it on tv. He busted out crying right then and there. I'm proud he's my dad. I'm proud that he got out of it.
My brother suffered from the same addiction and I was the same age as Jasper who plays Timothee's younger brother so it really hit home for me but overall it was a great film and gave a real look into what addiction really is, how it affects you, and affects the people around you. Loved it
❤❤
This movie is AMAZING.
I mean, first off, I never cry during movies or shows but this movies made me cry THREE times! If you’ve gone through an addiction: ANY addiction, not just drugs, it will hit close to home.
Watching the shame of relapse, the heartbreak of failure, and the desperation of wanting help can definitely trigger the water-works.
If you’re thinking about watching this movie: DO IT!

Michael and Holly are both going to be in this! Office fans rejoice!
This looks like it will be a hard movie to watch. I could make a joke about wanting to go home and "rethink your life" but this seems too serious. I really do hope it helps people understand the dangers of drugs and motives them to both stay away from drugs and give addicts the strength to regain control of their lives.

Man, this movie really does sum up the affects of addiction . I’m currently battling with my own struggle with alcoholism, it’s ruined my whole life , the path to being sober is not an easy one , not many people talk about how common it is to relapse , one minute I’m doing great, I’m sober , my life is getting back on track, the next minute i am down the deep end again, i hate how much addiction actually controls your life . it not only controls my life but has affected those around me , i recently bought his book and I’ve never felt so understood and seen . in the book he talks about how he would drink and do drugs so that he wouldn’t have to face the mistakes he made . drinking had completely destroyed my life but i am trying so hard to overcome it, the part that broke me the most was when his father is packing to go find him and says “my son is out there , and i don’t know what he’s doing , i don’t know how to help him” i remember seeing my mom desperté to help me , always seeing her so worried about me and what i would do when i left the house , and her wondering if i was going to make it home safety . i never wanted to really face how much i was hurting my family and how i was affecting them . To anyone struggling like myself , i know this isn’t an easy road , but it’s possible
I wish for your happiness.
@@sithumaluvihare6955 thank you 🥺

I think Michael was unfaithful.
the most important film I have seen in years. If your a parent that actually embraces the job, this will hurt.
I cannot believe they seriously didn’t nominate Timothée for an Oscar. It’s stupid. Did they even see the movie? His acting (both of them) were amazing and they’re just ignoring it.
Timmy acting skills can move mountain. What an amazing year his had.

(They even own Dreamworks now and that was the only studio left that could stand up to Disney in terms of animation.)
Literally, So accurate what it feels like to love an addict. Familial non-romantic love. And Timothy Chalamet looks to have done an outstanding job showing the human side of addiction and the heart of a person struggling. Props
This film is gut wrenching from start to finish. So emotional and unbelievably sad and difficult to watch especially if you know addicts fighting this battle. 10/10 performances.

Already can see an Oscar worthy performance by Timothee Chalamet from the very first seconds of the trailer.
the immaturity shows though the comments in this section..literary a heart wrenching movie about a fathers unconditional love for his son.. and you get people commenting about his flapping hair ,, grow up!!

The fact that my jack is in it means it’s fully deserved of the title beautiful boy❤️
All I can hear when Carrell is being emotional is, "I don't know what we're yelling about! LOOUUD NOISES!"
This was honestly one of the best movies Ive ever seen

Hebrews 13: 2 " Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. "
William Jean Out Of Context Verse
Palestinians showed hospitality to ZioJews and in return all they got was : getting kicked out of their own land etc.. Don’t even get me started!
I watched this trailer all the time before the movie came out. I used to listen to that line when timothee chalamet says "I want my parents to be proud of me" and i would imagine my struggles and how i was in his situation where i had clarity but of course i didn't. I just was obsessed with getting it because i couldn't stand the way i felt. I am watching this now with actual hope because i am doing better and comitting myself to maintaining my health. I have complex ptsd and emotional dysregulation along with ocd, tourettes, and depression and behavioral addictions. I know that this is tougghbut with time and hard work that i am putting in i will continue to get better. For everyone with problems with addiction and mental illness there is light at the end of the tunnel if you accept yourself for who you are. Let go of resentment and embrace life as it is without substances or other things that help make you feel good for a little while. It will eventually spiral out of control. Trust me i know. There was a time where i couldn't write stuff here because i didn't think anyone would care because i was nothing. That was a ridiculous perception i had but i still carry a little bit of it with me now. I know it will go away with time. Time gives us the ability to help ourselves. Don't being complacent and take it for granted. Get out of abusive situations and live your life. You are too good to hurt yourself any longer. Just let go. It will be the best thing you ever did.
That was very brave of you post and I am very impressed with you.
Nice to see Michael finally got a son!
Chalamet should have won the oscar last year for his stellar performance in "Call Me by Your Name". This young guy is an extremely talented actor.
The movie is well acted by all but Chalamet will make you cry again. Carrell is amazing as well.
