Rick, so sorry for your friend Rob. Lovely tribute you made for him. I absolutely adore the song you shared "My Weary Eyes." I can't believe I haven't hear it til the other day. I came across this video Oct 7th while processing the grief and tragedy of my cousin Debbie murdered 2 yrs to the day -her assailant was pronounced GUILTY. That's justice. But it won't bring her back. Yet I came across this video and somehow in the moment, the song captured the sadness loss and passing beauty that life is. What more can be said.... Well, as a guitar player I wish the chords/tablature for the song were somewhere as I'd love to learn to play. If it exists please share, It would mean a lot. Regardless of whether you read this. Thank you for sharing. Keep up the greatness.
Mr Beato....i am sorry for the loss, but just maybe a one thought to hang on...it seems like the time you two hang on together was worth all the world, that includes pain too, but im pretty sure it was/is worth it....in times i am struck by such terrible moments, i always try to focus on the sole appreciacion for the time i could be part of that persons life or his/hers of my own....all HUGS for You and thank you for sharing this moment
I've been a musician in Montgomery, AL for 35 years. I have adult onset autoimmune diabetes, multiple Sclerosis, and congestive heart failure. It is shocking how fast I have gone downhill in a year. I won't be around much longer, I'm afraid. But I would hope that my musician friends would think of me with the kind of fondness that Rick has for Rob.
Rick can teach music theory, he can geek out air-guitar style, he can really tell a story. But best of all, he conjurs up that world of lost bands, real human musicians and the live-scene music listening public that's still around. In his friend Rob, I see any one of those many good musicians and great people that many of us know, that many of us are. An homage to human connection and connecting Get outta the device. Get real, get into the air. Rick Beato lives it.
As do we all, whether in a-band worked in support or showed up as a fan. The world is different now and many have passed on. I was with Y&T before it was known as that though moved on after the first 2 records. In the immortal words of the “Grateful Dead” , What a long strange trip it’s been !!!!
It's never fully dawned on me that Rick is sat in his studio just talking to a lens. But he has such a deep well of charisma that I feel like we're all in the room with him. Deeply sorry for your loss Rick. We love you.
Rick, we’ve never met, but I wanted to thank you for trusting us, your audience, with something so incredibly personal. My heart breaks for you my friend. My condolences to you, Rob’s family, and anyone who knew and loved him. May his memory be a blessing.
"What are you talking about? We didn't write these songs." That is gold. Plus the fact they paid you to stop, man thats crazy! Sorry for your loss, Rick. He sounds like he was a great guy and a great talent.
Come to think of it, there's a few bands out there which I would pay top dollar to stop playing. Today, what with crowd funding we could probably do a real public service.
Thank you for sharing this, Rick. I grew up with Rob back in the late 70's, early 80's in College Park. He was my brother's age, three years younger than I. It is so clear that you knew him well because so many of those characteristics were larger than life even in his early years. As the circle grows, though, you've been enabling me and enriching my life for the last 2-3 years by giving me the ability to articulate what moves me in music. I'm grateful and knowing that we share a bond in Rob's friendship just makes it sweeter. Thank you, again.
Once again we are reminded of what is the most important thing in life: family and friends. I'm in my fifties and finally I have realized this simple truth. Our relationship with the people we love is all that matters. So: make that call, drop by for a cup of coffee, call in the gang for a reunion, as often as possible. You never know if you get a chance to meet them ever again. My condolences to you Rick.
*Well said, friend.* Not disparaging your comment at all, but I realized this too... but it was in my 30s and it was nearly the instant my first child was born. But, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I always think of the sad/bittersweet example of a home burning to the ground... if my family survives it, life isn't so bad after all. *Possessions can almost always be replaced... but your family (& friends) are irreplaceable.*
@@andyroid5028 Same, Andy. When my kids came, it suddenly dawned on me that all this is finite, and that EVERY moment matters and that we just cannot waste a moment of it on things that don't connect us to those we care about or help people who need an uplift.
Rob sounds like the men that hold our little communities and society together. Rob's type is the glue that binds our souls to our families; everybody knows a guy like this and they aren't super famous but absolutely vital for our well being. Sorry for your loss, Rick.
I wasn't familiar with that band, but I REMEMBER hearing that song here back in the day! Prob on 3MMM! We WILL ROCK Melb again 1 day soon Jim! Rock on mate! \m/
"He paid us to stop playing." One could argue that's a successful gig. All the cash for half the work. So sorry for the loss of your friend. So glad you've got such great memories.
That happened to my ex-wife and I, down on the coast in Sussex UK, last millennium sometime. We would get booked into various, and varied, venues through the agencies and there often were bizarre misunderstandings - but one man's cover band is another woman's wrong covers duo [or whatever, it was very weird on occasion, but we were young and needed the money ...].
Rick, I'm very sorry for your loss . You all created beautiful music. Always think of what he would want you to do. I'm sure he would be proud that you made this video and are sharing such wonderful memories. May he Rest in Peace and his family and friends be comforted. Kindest Regards, Don
I spent a lot of quality time with Rob Aldridge in the late 80's and early 90's and watched Hollyfaith get really good really quickly. I reconnected with Rob in 2016 and spent some more quality time with Rob laughing the entire time and sharing cool stories. Every second with Rob is quality time. I never met anyone like Rob and I never will again. My cousin Brian played drums with Hollyfaith for about 6 months and also recorded with Umajets. Tim Smith is also a really great guy with positive energy. It's a privilege being friends with these people.
Hey Rick, I wanted to say I sorry I am about your friend Rob's passing. One of the reasons I follow all your videos is that I'm also a middle aged guy who still loves to write, play and listen to music. But another big reason is that you don't just offer music lessons, or insights into production or theory, you offer a connection. A real connection into your passions, your ambitions, your dreams, your failures....and today your losses. You're a lot more than a great musician Rick, you're a great man, and I bet you're a great friend, I feel certain Rob would have said so. And like Rob, we're lucky to have you in our lives. Take care Brother.
Super well said, it’s very rare to have a connection to sort of an online personality person (Rick Beato), - a stranger really, but that also really we all just have so much respect for as a human. This guy is a total gentleman.
I'm sorry to hear of the passing of your friend, Rob. You're one hell of a human being, RB for the tributes you do, the values you have and your passion for music. Thank you, it's things like this that make this channel extraordinary.
I'm very sorry to hear that Rockin' Rob has passed. I only knew him through his BBQ restaurant. We enjoyed the food and Rob's enthusiasm for both the BBQ and his customers so much that we had him cater our wedding rehearsal dinner back in 2000. I clearly did not know him to the extent that you did but even through our few conversations his energy and likeability were undeniable. Thank you for the moving tribute, Rick. And his brisket was the best!
Thorton Wilders comment always brings me home: "The highest tribute to the dead is not grief but gratitude." Gratitude for truly knowing that person. We all meet many people in our life but to truly know them and appreciate one is rare.
That's truth. My grandmother-in-law, a Thai woman who I could barely communicate with, was one of those truly good people whose simple presence was an education. I thought about her example all the time. When she died I didn't feel sad, just so grateful I had had a chance to meet her.
The internet is a populated with so much rubbish much of it hurtful, wrong or greed-fueled . Your channel is an oasis of authenticity, passion, expertise and connection. Thank you for introducing us to Rob, their excellent music and for sharing this sad news and some vulnerability in the name of love.
“There it is”. Always sad when we lose someone we love. But there is also joy in the memories and the knowledge that to have even known them is a miracle and privilege.
Jesus said, Come to me, all you that are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. God bless you and may you know God's comfort and strength.
The love of God is greater far Than tongue or pen can ever tell. It goes beyond the highest star And reaches to the lowest hell. The guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win; His erring child He reconciled And pardoned from his sin. O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forevermore endure- The saints’ and angels’ song. When hoary time shall pass away, And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall; When men who here refuse to pray, On rocks and hills and mountains call; God’s love, so sure, shall still endure, All measureless and strong; Redeeming grace to Adam’s race- The saints’ and angels’ song. Could we with ink the ocean fill, And were the skies of parchment made; Were every stalk on earth a quill, And every man a scribe by trade; To write the love of God above Would drain the ocean dry; Nor could the scroll contain the whole, Though stretched from sky to sky.
I’m right around your age and have already said goodbye to a couple of dear friends. The more you have to remember them with (pics, recordings whatever..) the better. Doesn’t begin to fill the giant hole in your soul.. but it helps. So I as a complete stranger offer you my sincere condolences, and an offhand thank you for all you do.
Im 32 and have lost 4 of my literal best friends. Two suicides, an overdose and one killed by a drunk driver. Memories only shared with them and now its just me...it fkng sucks dude.
@@Mikee535 I'm slightly confused by your statement. Don't take this as me being a smartass, but you must live quite the charmed life. At your age if you can't see how life's circumstances can chew you up and spit you out, well, just count yourself extremely lucky.
I lost a dear friend and former bandmate in January of this year. He was 53. He was the guy who lit up the room when he walked in and for a few years, I shared in that glow when we made our arrival together and the friends inside were so happy to see us. He and I never lost touch and were in contact all the way up to his passing. He died suddenly of an unexpected heart attack. He never knew he was sick and neither did the rest of us. He lived every day like it was going to be his last and the impression he left on the music scene in Central PA. and our hearts and minds is indelible. That song was lovely and it called my mind to my dear friend Chad Salvaggio. The best drummer I ever knew. Peace Chad. I hope Rob runs into you at the great gig in the sky and you guys jam a few Christmas songs for the rest of the crew.
In two years I have lost the drummer from my high school band, the guitarist from my most recent band, my best friend and sax player just last month and Sunday we will celebrate the life of a percussionist harp player that I had been playing with. My wife walked by and heard Robs song and saw your reaction and she said "gray haired people constantly wiping away tears because of lost friends...." Rip Rob. And Gary. And Joe. And Willie. And Harpy. You are missed.
And Ronald, and Tom, and Shawn, and Jim. and ....... The older we get, the more frequently it happens, but we never get used to it. Sorry about your friends.
"My Weary Eyes" is incredible. The lyrics are wonderful, but the vocals are fantastic. The harmonizing between Rob and Tim is beautiful. They both have outstanding voices. The story about Rob telling the owner of the club "We didn't write these songs!" is hysterical. I'm so sorry you lost your friend, but you paid him a great tribute today by playing his music. Now more people can experience it. It's said people die twice~ the first is when they pass away, and the second and final time is when their name is said for the last time. Today, you helped ensure Rob lives forever. Rest in Peace, Rob. 🎤🎶🎶
Rick its hard to be a sensitive soul in this world today, I can see your emotion, stay strong. You have done him proud by introducing him to all of us. His memory will live on in his music.
I’m so sorry, Rick. I will definitely go and listen. Rob’s voice has so much soul and emotion and I love that in a vocalist. Thank you for sharing stories about your friend, I hope the memories help you through.
When I was younger, I thought the idea of being strong was showing no emotions when life events happened. When I lost a relative or friend, I would "stay strong" and keep it inside and myself in check for the benefit of those around me. As I have matured into my 50's I have realized my mistakes (many of them) - and that being strong is allowing all emotions to come out where ever you are. I appreciate you sharing this beautiful tribute to Rob. I added to my Spotify today. Hold your friends close.
Rest in peace, Rob. "We didn't write these songs" had me cracking up. That is a great sounding tune... he sang with soul. It never ceases to amaze me how much great music exists and how many talented musicians there are and have been... largely unknown. I think that's about the best tribute you could give him. A few tears, some laughs and a song - an artifact of my humanity - that's all I could ask for.
Just yesterday read the phrase "I'll always be there, just push play". That's a lovely tribute to a lifetime friend. Sorry for your loss Rick, may he rest in peace.
The music industry is such a fickle monster. We end up with a lot of great music but then again there is 100x more that is great and we just never get exposed to it because 'the business' doesn't buy into and market it and support it. Thank you for introducing us to this talent.
Sometimes when two people harmonize, their voices sound shiny and resonant. That recording sparkled like crazy. I can tell your friend was a bright star. I am sorry for your loss.
Knowing a friend is gone never to be spoken with again is devastating.. Knowing his talent, music and words live on in music is the magnificent joy of music. You lost a wonderful friend who supported you, believed in you, and loved you!. Great way to eulogize him. Be at peace.
Did Rick just clickbait me into genuine and intense feelings?!! Jokes aside, it's crazy to think how insignificant our lives can seem in a world where hundreds of people are born and die every minute of every day, yet we have so many stories to tell about our loved ones who pass away. This was lovely, condolences to his family all of the people who loved him.
@@thebeatnumber Pain is pain, regardless of ideology. You can be right yet still not be loving. That is not God’s way. Choose your words more carefully in the future.
Your Rochester friend Mike T. Rick I am so sorry for your loss. I can only pray he is in a better place. We never know when it will be our last day on earth. This emotional sharing of Rob to your viewers was touching and heartfelt. Your Tribute shows what Rob meant to you and that song of his that you played with him and loved is one that will live in your heart and always remind you of your Dear friend Rob. May the good Lord comfort you and Rob's family.
For me personally, it's been a rough two years. Never lost so many dear people so quickly and it's been taking a toll on me. I figure a lot of you out there can relate and I just wanted to extend my sympathies and say God bless!! Dang it Rick, you made my eyes sweaty.
We often talk about leaving something behind when we depart this life, like our music. But what we leave behind in the hearts of our loved ones is the most lasting and important thing.
You have such a talent for taking us along your emotional journey, I don't know if it's because you've got that gentle professor vibe going on, or just because you do what an artist should do, but man when you feel, you can make us feel.
"we didn't write these songs." hahaha. sounds like a character, one of those guys that was bigger than life. sorry for the loss of your friend Rob, Rick. Beautiful song.
What an incredibly worthy 11 minutes of my time. I laughed incredibly hard and also felt the tears welling up over the short span of watching. What a great song. Thanks Rick. ✌
Agreed, he really is. Rick is a beautiful soul. The number of downvotes on this video are truly bafaling to me. I do not understand what would drive a person to that on a video such as this, regardless of personal taste in music. Talent is plane to see and hear no matter what you prefer. So I struggle to find any reasoning aside from vapid edgy teenagerisms or emotionally stunted dickheads. lol
Amen. His videos are so wholesome and paint such a vivid picture. It reminds me to go and live my life and build relationships and cherish the good ones you have
@@pooppancake8750 I thought the same thing. If the downvotes are by legitimate humans who sincerely disapprove of anything about this video, we should find them and reach out to them because they must be hurting bad deep inside. My comment to Rick above says how I feel.
@@pooppancake8750 right now the downvotes are 1.3% of the upvotes, not a bad percentage (and some of them are may be accidents.) Really that is not too bad. Rick can be proud, he doesn't do these for those people, anyway
One of the hardest things I've ever been through is loosing my best friend unexpectedly. I'm sorry for the loss Rick. Our generation had the best music and some of the best people making it. I'm glad you have that most excellent song to remember him by.
When you have friends you had hilarious times with even though you don’t get to see them very often due to life being busy it still hurts when they are gone. The best thing you can do is to Honour him with music. Take care Rick.
That song you played sounds like the best of grunge meets Oasis. In a great way. Beatles influence worn on the sleeve without shame, rock attitude, and 90s sensibility all on display. I like it a lot. Thank you for sharing and carrying on a person in your life who mattered. Hope you deal with the blow okay. You've got plenty of shoulders and ears here, Rick.
I hear Stone temple pilots and Alice in chains, I don't really hear any Oasis unless you mean just the dual singers? But they dont have much differences in their voices compared to Noel and Liam. Beatles are too far removed from modern (even by the 90's) music for me.
I could hear the Beatles or Oasis influence towards the middle of the song, a little bit. I could hear StP all the way through. ...im not one to compare bands to other bands..I like bands for their unique qualities..but its hard to not hear the influences that you mentioned 😁👍
Hi Rick. I don't know you, but in fact, I do. This thing you do, with the feeling and vulnerability that has carried us through our entire lifetimes, is a special connective tissue. A real, visceral connection and I am grateful to you for sharing. Peace to you.
What a touching heartfelt eulogy. Clearly one of those friends that come under the heading of; "but I always thought I’d see you again…" Mu condolences.
I can only hope to a.) leave an impact on someone the way Rob left on Rick and b.) have friends as thoughtful and caring as Rick. The joke made me laugh and the song made me cry. Amazing video, Rick. Much love from WV.
There are so many extremely talented musicians out there who for all practical purposes are unknown. I have played with so many musician that were as good or better than what you in the day would hear on the radio yet no one knew who they were. Sad.
Rick, you are such a sincere human being. Its so beautiful of you do this for your deceased friend. So much respect for you man! May Rob rest in heaven. ❤
My first RUclips comment ever.... I was a young when all this was going on in Atlanta but I remember when one of Rob's friends, or maybe his brother I forget, brought the then-unreleased Umajets record (Demolotion) over to my house. He called Rob from my living room and said, "Umajets? Like Uma Thurman?". And perhaps because of the kooky name I started listening. And I never stopped. That record and "Swollen and Tender" got me through highschool. I wore those records out. They're spectacular. Just spectacular. Rick, we've only met in passing, but I really, deeply appreciate the moving tribute to Rob and I wish you, his family, and his loved ones my sincerest condolences.
My condolences for the loss of your friend, Rick. God bless you for showing us your human side. The personal touches you add to your channel by showing this side of yourself is heartening and makes it all the more worth following your channel. Please keep it up.
Very cool album, I never would have discovered it in a million years on my own. The production quality is out of this world. The songwriting and instrumentation are spot on. Thank you Rick for passing along his legacy.
The fact that we're here at all is a complete miracle. When someone is remembered and loved with such affection is cause for huge celebration. If only more of us can celebrate others before we or they have to pass on.
My condolences on the loss of your friend. It’s a deep bond that you have with old buddies, even if you don’t meet up for a long while. That’s how life sometimes goes. Rob had a great voice, and luckily it’s recorded forever. Beautiful, sincere tribute.
It's times like this that no one wants to go through. I will be 49 this year and I know I'm gonna start losing people that I love deeply. It's the time in life I was never looking forward too. May God bless all of those we lost along the way.
I can't even imagine how it must feel like to hear that song now! And I'm so sorry for your loss. Rob sounds like he was an amazing guy, and it's such a nice tribute to him and his life to dedicate this video to him.
It still amazes me how musicians can make sorrow sound beautiful and actually attractive to our ears. This song is gorgeous!😔😔😔 it's a simple concept; we just want to feel connected to our human brothers and sisters.🖤🖤🖤
My grandma always used to say “…the life we’re given is only on loan…” and how true her words are. You’re a good man Rick, celebrate his living, mourn his passing, and be there for his folks. ❤️
My weary eyes is a song for the first time in many, many years that I've fallen in love with upon hearing today, thanks only to you Rick. Thank you for sharing this song and the story behind the composer. Condolences for your loss my friend 🙏
Probably the most heartfelt tribute I've every seen or heard. My respect for you is beyond comparison and your total appreciation of musicians and their craft should be an inspiration for all.
There's a lesson here for all of us. When we have friends, people that we love, people who are dear to us... Make time for them. Put them in our calendars. Schedule them. They are among the few things that really matter.
Even if I hadn't known the backstory of this song, I would have shed tears. Such a loss. Blessings to his talented, funny, great-guy spirit as he transitions to a different realm. He will be remembered. Thank you for sharing this. Blessings of comfort to you, and Rob's family and friends.
I'm sorry for your loss, RIck. I recently lost a friend to the building collapse in Surfside (he, along with his wife and their two young daughters). He, like Rob, was larger than life. It's hard to believe he's gone. Gone, it seems, before his time. Like Rob. I'll always treasure my memories of him. Your tribute to Rob is moving. So sorry for your loss.
Oh man, Rick, my heart just broke for you. I recognize the pain in your heart while you listen to this song, you have my sincerest condolences. In late February of this year, while I was in the middle of a mixing session, I had a sudden urge to pick up my guitar and play something. This is rare, I try not to mix my creative time with my engineering time, but the universe had other plans. I picked up my acoustic and just wrote this crazy good blues riff (not something I'd usually just rip out of my ass). Normally I'd just be like "that was cool, hope I remember it", but something made me play it for over an hour, just jamming on these 2 riffs to make sure I couldn't forget them. Went and had dinner, came right back and picked up my electric, threw on a backing beat, and recorded the track. Put my guitar down and thought "Man, that riff is soooo "Al", definitely something he'd play... I can't wait to send this to Andy and Al tomorrow". I grabbed my phone and saw a text from Al's wife to call her - Al had passed away a few hours earlier. There is no single doubt in my mind that Al grabbed me by the guitar and gifted me a wonderful song on his way to the other side. It's the only silver lining that's helped me keep my sanity through the loss. I'm so sorry for your loss, Rick, you've done a wonderful job in paying tribute to your good friend.
Condolences on your loss, Rick. Having the music is a blessing. I went through a similar situation when I found out my friend Elissa passed away. She sang for a band called Lenny in Athens when we were in college, and it's comforting to be able to go back and listen to the music and share in what your friend created.
Thank you for sharing this, Rick. I'm 67, saw The Beatles, been a musician my whole life, endless gigs, endless friends and great times, but it is a crusher when we lose a real special old band-mate or any musician we've done a good project with. There are so many great musicians of all stripes that we'll never have the benefit of hearing before they get a shot at a wider audience, it is the nature of the business, but what isn't "the business" is the stamp those people leave on our hearts. Sometimes I can't even think about some of them without losing it, they were that gifted, generous, sweet, and mega-talented. Again, thank you for sharing that rare part of this business that is most difficult...that part where we lose someone like that who lives in our hearts. You made me feel like I might have known the guy. RIP, gifted brother.
Isn’t it wonderful how music can touch you so deeply and keep the feelings and memories of friends and experiences alive. Blessings to you and his family and friends in this difficult time.

So: make that call, drop by for a cup of coffee, call in the gang for a reunion, as often as possible.
You never know if you get a chance to meet them ever again.
My condolences to you Rick.
I'm in my fifties as well, and I feel the same way. Life starts feeling a whole lot shorter.
*Well said, friend.*
Not disparaging your comment at all, but I realized this too... but it was in my 30s and it was nearly the instant my first child was born.
Same here , i'm 55 and still have the same friends from high school. Without true friends and family everything else is meaningless IMO!
Rob sounds like the men that hold our little communities and society together. Rob's type is the glue that binds our souls to our families; everybody knows a guy like this and they aren't super famous but absolutely vital for our well being. Sorry for your loss, Rick.

On the lighter side . . . our audiences used to scream for "MORE!"
More Break! More Break!
1/2 the FUN too!
You’re a musician’s musician. So much info, phenomenal experience. A classy man with a great delivery! Thank you brother. I mean that.
Man his voice is like a perfect blend of Lennon, McCartney and Harrison all in one.
It's tough when you lose a good friend from back in the days when you never thought you'd get old.
This is what I try to live by: "Be the things you loved most about the people who are gone".
My sister has this same name, i miss her very much
Hey Rick, I wanted to say I sorry I am about your friend Rob's passing.
I was going to comment, but after reading yours I don't have to.

Amen !!
Thorton Wilders comment always brings me home: "The highest tribute to the dead is not grief but gratitude."
Gratitude for truly knowing that person. We all meet many people in our life but to truly know them and appreciate one is rare.
That Sir is a beautiful sentiment
Amen
That's truth. My grandmother-in-law, a Thai woman who I could barely communicate with, was one of those truly good people whose simple presence was an education. I thought about her example all the time. When she died I didn't feel sad, just so grateful I had had a chance to meet her.
This was a beautiful tribute, Rick. Rob was lucky to have you as a friend.
The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell.
It goes beyond the highest star
And reaches to the lowest hell.
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled
And pardoned from his sin.
O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure-
The saints’ and angels’ song.
When hoary time shall pass away,
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall;
When men who here refuse to pray,
On rocks and hills and mountains call;
God’s love, so sure, shall still endure,
All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adam’s race-
The saints’ and angels’ song.
Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made;
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.
He was a good friend to me and I love this song. Thank you
I’m right around your age and have already said goodbye to a couple of dear friends.
I am 60 I lost two of my best friends. I don't know why people can't take care of themselves. Really sad.
I'm 52 and I already lost a couple buddies from high school --- it reminds me of how fast time moves and how short a time we have on Earth
Same. It shouldn't be that way.
In two years I have lost the drummer from my high school band, the guitarist from my most recent band, my best friend and sax player just last month and Sunday we will celebrate the life of a percussionist harp player that I had been playing with. My wife walked by and heard Robs song and saw your reaction and she said "gray haired people constantly wiping away tears because of lost friends...."
Rip Rob. And Gary. And Joe. And Willie. And Harpy.
You are missed.
And Ronald, and Tom, and Shawn, and Jim. and .......
The older we get, the more frequently it happens, but we never get used to it.
Sorry about your friends.
hahahaha .... that's the reward for growing old. Everybody else dies lol.
One of the most painful things in life to lose is a friend. Blessings abound to you, Rick.

I’m so sorry, Rick. I will definitely go and listen. Rob’s voice has so much soul and emotion and I love that in a vocalist. Thank you for sharing stories about your friend, I hope the memories help you through.
When a friend “goes” there will be an empty space that no one or nothing would be able to fill it again. A hug from the distance my friend.
When you leave behind such a beautiful song for others to enjoy, you're never really gone. It's a miracle very few accomplish.
That is so true. Always thought about that.
It was a privilege to see genuine, heartfelt emotion. You are a special person and I thank you for you sharing your heart.
Sometimes when two people harmonize, their voices sound shiny and resonant. That recording sparkled like crazy. I can tell your friend was a bright star. I am sorry for your loss.
Playing music together with someone creates a special bond, and my heart goes out to you on the loss of your friend.
Rick is even good at analysing people as well as music ! This man is just priceless.
Knowing a friend is gone never to be spoken with again is devastating.. Knowing his talent, music and words live on in music is the magnificent joy of music. You lost a wonderful friend who supported you, believed in you, and loved you!. Great way to eulogize him. Be at peace.
I'm so sorry for your loss, Rick. The song is lovely. May he rest in peace.
Sorry for your loss, Rick. Life passes and we lose people who make our lives worthwhile.

This made me cry, thinking of my best friends, of my guitar, how those things are indivisible. I'm sorry you lost your friend. For now.
If we are lucky enough to live this long, such sadness is part of the dues we pay for survival. Celebrate life. 🧡
I’ve never heard that song but yet It feels somehow nostalgic.
Amazing song and great memorial.
