A French accent is always reassuring in the kitchen. If he told me to chop it with a spoon, I would probably do it.
Also, thanks. About to dice some for a beef stroganoff
Best food comment ever!
😂🤣😂🤣
Not really, French Chefs are way to arrogant, they're impossible to work with :P
Yes chef! 🤣
We all know that if the instructor has an accent, he must be really good. This is true in mathematics as in cooking.
And if the accent is too deep you just aren't smart enough to understand him
I'm using that technique, I've always unfortunately ended up with large chunks of onions, but I'll definitely try with this.
Excellent. A pleasure to watch. will check out more videos.
Merci beaucoup, chef. Thank you very much.
Awesome video!! I am going to dice some shallots for risotto today. Thanks.
Nice video! I only wish I had found this tutorial before I sliced my shallots LENGTHWISE. It was difficult...
great video for beginners
Thank you!
I love shallots
how did you peel the shallot without chopping of ur finger?Plz make a video on that
par excellence
It burns my eyes
Thank you, though I think I'll cut mine a lot slower than you do since I don't have that skill
0:12 how do I cook if I cut off my hands?
@@online-culinary-school honestly, given the end result of whatever the hell I was trying to cook, it would have been better if u had cut off my hands.
did i see him crying.
Shallot from db legends is what I was looking for
I cut my thumb off now what do I do?
@@online-culinary-school but I can't dial without my thumb? I already cut my other one off on your last video🤷 😂
Why does he say to chop shallots overnight?
He says: ....With a knife
He could have easily peeled that with his hands after cutting off the ends and scoring the side lol
Chefs don’t do that.
@@mike2652 maybe they should, to increase efficiency.
@@monke980 that’s not more efficient
@@mike2652 how is it not? it would take so much less time to just use your hands, he is clearly doing things he does not need to.
Because when you have knife skills, the time spent picking up the knife, putting it down, picking it up, the difference is negligible, and if the bits of peel are sticky they don’t get stuck on your fingers with the oils/ moisture from peeling with hands
Wait a min. If I use a machine I make the shallot bitter with heat? I smell bullshit!!! I'm going to cook these shallots, Do you suggest I Cook them with something other then HEAT ?
Do what you want
That horizontal cut into Onions when fine dicing, is absolutely pointless, i never spend time doing so, as the fibers of the Onions are already making it finely diced without it :P
Then you are bound to dice to the thickness of the layers.
That’s not even a shallot it’s red onion
That is clearly a shallot
That's not a red onion.
🤣
