    I love alakazam, but I usually prefer a starmie lead. Just personal preference though. I’ve just had more success with it personally. Alakazams psychic hits so hard though, and can at times outlast a lot of Pokémon due to its special defense being super high because special is just one stat, and with reflect. I either run psychic, thunder wave, reflect, recover, or sometimes replace reflect with seismic toss for chip damage, and I guess a more offensive alakazam. Plus he’s super fast so high crit ratio and special drops from psychic are devastating.

Aside from the fact that they all looked like killers minus maybe Venusaur who got in because he's just the only grass type I liked. They were all really strong. and after i beat the elite 4 Dragonite would swap out with Nidoking. Snorlax was just the best guy to throw in when you needed to fully restore your team. Also this team kind of sucks because you have to go to the PC to get a bird to fly you around but all the flying types sucked in gen 1 so I didn't really care. Gengar is my absolute favorite Pokemon of all time but I used to restart frequently because I was a Pokemon crack addict as a kid and there's only so many times you can tell your buddy to get the trade cable out. Otherwise I'd 100% go with Gengar, Alakazam, Golem, Venusaur, Gyrados and Arcanine

    • @Teasquared27
      @Teasquared27 Год назад +1

      You could theoretically drop chansey from a team and still be competitive but not having snorlax and tauros is a much more difficult ask
      Why eggy over starmie? Starmie is just too versatile and that’s why he edges out eggy for #4.
      Rhydon is zapdos only check and the best end game sweeper in competitive play if left unchecked. This list ranks them correctly, I would only move rhydon and jynx maybe ahead of cloyster but thats the only changes i can maybe have an argument for

    Idk why he likes alakazam so much. Its a beast and was my 3rd favorite pokemon back in the day behind charizard and dragonite. But i smoked Sabrina's alakazam with charizard everytime. I ised fire against sabrina and the E4 trainer, cant remember her name but i smoked them easy everytime.

    Most people know the missing-no glitch. Most people don't realize in that same area you can catch stuff glitched over level 100 with the stats to go along with it. So the best pokemon were actually those Ratata type and Pigeon types you could get from there. You just win with raw stats, the only downside is they sometimes don't listen to you because your badge level is always too low!

    Guys, help me out here.
    I'm taking part in a Pokemon tournament with a couple of friends. We are allowed to prepare 3 Pokemon up to lvl 25, nor foing beyond the 3rd arena. Then we would fight against each other, have another 30min of game play and fight each other again. We are doing this 5 times.
    What Pokemon should I use and which attacks should they know? Please remember, only Pokemon allowed until I hit arena 3.
    Thanks guys! Your help is very much appreciated!!

    Wow no mention of Nidoking thats unexpected. Same goes for Aerodactyl who i always find fun to use. Rock/Flying with solid attack, a good special and high topspeed. Gen 1 had its balance issues. The special stat itself was a big flaw since it counted for both offence and defence. That was the reason Alakazam was such a beast or indeed Mewtwo but hey Mewtwo is the strongest pokemon ever created. After the special split Alakazam became more a glass cannon, still a big threat but not impossible to handle. Then another downside of the first generations was the attack type determines what value it used, either Attack or Sp Att. Hitmonchan for example was terrible in gen 1, high attack but its elemental punches used its abysmal special stat. Gyarados had Hyperbeam to save its usefulness but also it has a high attack and low special making its water moves underpowered. Anyways these things have been fixed and alot of first gen pokemon have seen their usefullness increase since, Not to mention the abilities and other things that been added later to keep them relevant in current generations and not to be put on the shelf or to act as dex fillers.
