I forgot to ask you about that double gasket method. Ive even installed these things with zero gasket and havnt had a leak but I did notice that the housing where the things get welded together sometimes has a raised lip that holds up the third member.
Yeah, I think it’s just a little thin on the Mahle and Mr Gasket brands. I think I bought an expensive one that was a bit thicker and I just used the one and it didn’t leak. And yes, I think it’s imperfections in the surface. I didn’t pay attention the what it was like at the weld. I just always use 2 now if it’s the gaskets I mentioned.
