The TOMAHAWK Scale news for 2019/2020 !
The North American F-100F Super Sabre is the doubleseater version of one of the most produced Military-Jets in the History of the USA.Tomahawk Aviation use this sample to design a unique scale-model , the model is manufactured in a small work-shop piece by piece in single production.
The F-100F has a sandwich-composite contruction and is reinforced by carbon-fibre in all important sections. With this construction we were able to have a light and durable airframe which can be built under 25Kg flying weight even in this size. The composite parts are silver painted in the mould , some of the features are working slats and speedbrakes , as well as full ducting from nose to engine . Like all Tomahawk Scale-Jets , the model is manufactured at very high level quality standard and all details are like the original plane.
Optional preassembled scale-cockpit , scale e-retracts and special tank-system is available.

OH that whistle! That's the first and only time I've heard a turbine produce that authentic whistle sound! BRILLIANT!
_Thank you for your kind comment. Much appreciated !_ 👍😉
I have to say, without your awesome videography, we'd all be far less awestruck at the incredible aircraft you show us. Thanks for the great work you do to bring us the best.
Glad to hear that you like the video. Another maiden flight of a brilliant and unique jet will be online on Friday. Don't miss it. 😉🤘
RCScaleAirplanes can I ask as not in to r c aircraft etc ( tho I wish I was ) the jet engines used are they a pretty much a standard purchase , or are there different versions/ power outputs specific to the certain plane types being made ?
@@Stevensmith-ln7kz There are many different sizes of jet turbines available. You can find them by searching of:
*JetCat turbine*
*Frank turbine*
*Lambert micro turbine* (the smallest)
*Jet Italia*
... and, and, and 😉👍
Two great reproductions in a row. First the BAE and now this. Fantastic quality and attention to detail and very impressive performance. Congrats to the builders and the pilot.
_Thank you for your kind words, which I really appreciate._
Friday evening an eye-catching jet will be online. Don't miss it 😉
Probably my new all time favorite. Nothing touches this bird. I am awestruck. The 24 dislikes were from the Vietnamese.
Oh baby that is one beauty of a F-100, great turbine sound and especially the detail work on the engine housing stress and paint discoloration. Thanks for sharing this was a wonderful aircraft.
Fantastic! That compressor whine and exhaust are very convincing. Thank you sir!
Awesome!!! The only thing missing is the BOOM of the afterburner and thick black smoke when cruising!! Gorgeous bird!!!
gooniac33 : Absolutely, I love those old smokey engines! When the only people who worried about the environment were scientists!
Also needed a pilot figure in the cockpit!
Tim Smith the black smoke means you’re wasting fuel. Incomplete combustion.
James Davey yes that is true... however it still is a flash back to the past of these old machines in their hay day....
@@williamkeith8944The pilot figures were ordered but they didn't arrive in time and the model was ready to fly otherwise so he flew it with the cockpits empty. Undoubtedly by now it has pilot figures installed.
Not only looks but SOUNDS so authentic.. good job!
I would suffer severe 'pucker' flying that as a maiden flight! Beautiful airplane.
That was one heck of a good maiden flight - nice on board video too - super landing.
Great video Horst :).
_Hi Chris._
Glad to hear that you like the video. Another maiden flight of a brilliant and unique jet will be online on Friday. Don't miss it. 😉🤘
_Cheers, Horst_
That is a standard for modelers to strive for!
Wow...going vertical on a maiden flight takes some skill! Loved the on board camera view. Amazing job overall, thanks for sharing!
There is Scale Modeling and then there is this... Awesome Camera work and at one point feels like another Plane engaged the Sabre while in flight! That was RAD!
Beautifull plane.... but also a beautifull scale speed and flying.
Chapeau...... this is model flying first class..... I can here that you are not flying at 100% power. THAT is superb.... scale speed..... that it's the thing
Love it 😍😍😍
Besides everything being superb, the sound is just terrific!
Really beautiful airplane love the engine sound during high speed passes :)
YES!!!! Another PERFECT landing!!! I think the landing really says a lot about the expertise and control the pilot has over the plane and YOU my friend are a PILOT👨✈️. Great video!!! 😁
That sound......... 👍👍👍👏👏
An outstanding first flight ! But I bet he was relieved when he got it down safely with a very nice landing, the on board camera footage was very nice, something which is a lot easier with a model of this size, excellent camera footage for this flyer to re live his masterpieces first flight, many thanks for posting this for our viewing Horst! Chris B.
Good build and great flight!
THANKS !
I don't know anything about model aircraft flying but I do know what looks good. Excellent! A great video too! 👍🏻
*Thank you for your kind comment. Much appreciated !!!*
BEAUTIFUL Construction! Your team did an amazing job with this aircraft.
I'm not a R/C guy but have been watching a lot of R/C plane videos and seen some amazing constructions and flights, but this one sent chills up my spine! Outstanding creation (though I agree, it DOES need at least one pilot figure!), great takeoff and landing and truly WONDERFUL flight! I am slowly being lured towards this hobby (though checking the price of this particular model cooled my jets a bit - LOL! Congratulations, Tomahawk for your magnificent work; I will be watching for more!
_Thank you for your kind comment, which I really appreciate !!!_ 😀👍
Unfortunately the pilot(s) didn't arrive in time for the maiden.
Most realistic flying I’ve seen in some time. Great job!!
Good landing
Beautiful model! Those lovely thin wings - spot on. And well very well flown for a maiden.
Awesome ... and what a landing.
Beautiful flying of beautiful model!
I wish that it was legal to mount a camera in the model’s cockpit, on a gimbal (like a model pilot’s head) and then fly the model using VR type goggles. Then the pilot could just sit in a chair and fly with the same field of vision as a real pilot. Imagine how awesome that would be!
Damn, the way it looks with the catfish intake disgusts me just like the real deal. Mad respect to the builder!
First I didn't think the Ju-88 could be topped. Then you popped the vid on the BAE. Now this! I'm living on the wrong side of the world! Beautiful SS! Very stable maiden & landing. Way to go Horst & Congrats to Tomahawk for building such a beauty. Thanks!
The pilots! The pilots! The plane took off without the pilots........................!
The pilot figures were ordered but they didn't arrive in time and the model was ready to fly otherwise so he flew it with the cockpits empty. Undoubtedly by now it has pilot figures installed.
Hi Horst, when Marc is in command ... everything looks easy and simple .... and we know it's not quite like that. Thanks so much.
Marc is an excellent pilot. Also the builder of this model did an awesome job. Everything was well balanced and almost nothing had to be trimmed during the maiden flight.
_Cheers, Horst_
SPECTACULAR BEAUTY AND CONTROL !!
TYVM FOR SHARING !!
Awesome 👍 Superb
Beautiful plane and of course, beauftifully flown!
Many thanks!
scale-like flying!
Good job.. sounds great as well
What...A...Beautiful...Beautiful...Bird! And beautifully flown! And that was its maiden flight?!? From all appearances, you & the plane seem to have been working partners for years. Well done!
Fantastic things being done in the RC world..... So cool...
Great looking F100F. I love the F86 Super Sabre.
F-86 was the Sabre. F-100 was the Super Sabre.
Incredible model!! That corn is looking strong and tall also... 😎
Wonderful astounding bird ! Really amazing flight stability and control.
It must have been late 1950s when I saw the USAF Thunderbirds at Brookley AFB in Mobile, Al. They thundered overhead and we forgot about the "cold war" for a few moments. What a beautiful aircraft and RC model.
Cool video, nice mix of camera with in plane camera. The style of the plane kinda reminds me of the old Captain Scarlet movies.
Superb soundtrack! That howl is just amazing. Excellent video as always my friend! 👍
i will give you award
Perfect lending !👍👍👍
Almost unbelievable!
She has got to have some type of whistle in the intake for the turbine. This one has a different type of sound that's being generated by something other than the engine. Beautiful model that sounds Great!!!!
Just brilliant! Bravo!
It sounds almost like the real thing. Awesome.
That is freaking cool!
Absolutely fantastic bird my friend
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!
AWESOME !!
Nice landing !
Magnificent aircraft and the video quality is Superb. Well Done Sir.
_Thank you for your kind words, Chuck. Much appreciated._ 😎👍
Glad it didn't get into the dreaded Sabre Dance on short final! Needs some leading edge slats though?
That was a pleasure to watch . And on the maiden flight you weren't holding nothing back.. lol .. Great flying, landing and Taxying .. ;)
Fantastic, well done my friend, awesome landing 👍
You just need scale pilots that turn their heads, and either perform a sharp salute with the left hand, and the right hand gives you the bird, you know, the old finger!
We know the finger, Goose...
Beautiful plane and a great maiden flight. Thanks for the video. Shalom
Beautiful plane!
Stunning aircraft thanks for showing
Great plane and great pilot good job
She's a beauty!
Have to tell you, man, NICEST R/C aircraft EVER!! It suits you as it's pilot as well.
beautiful great piloting and a sane turn to final!
Beautiful!
Superfine video 👍👍
Superbly done reminds me of that old Korean war film The Hunters with Robert Mitcham and Robert Wagner flying F 86 Sabres.
Very cool jet fantastic effort all round. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with on Friday. 😉👍
Another awesome model and successful maiden. There are so many amazing models in your part of the world! A very nice job with the filming Horst! Your channel is on fire, congratulations! Two big thumbs up!
Cheers!

great flying! Superb sound!!
Totally Righteous Dude!! I loved it Great job!
Очень красивая модель самолёта и демонстрационный полет. Спасибо.
So lifelike
Absolutely the best of the best!!
Thank you so much.
That's excellent
That flare at 6:07......😍
Thumbs up... "dare to flare", NICE.
Super awesome
Fantastic plane and flying and love the nose high near stall landing. Looks a little odd without pilots.
They ejected, lol.
@@faustteufel9727 😂😂😂
when you listen through Earphones... that engines poping a bit
Simply beautiful! Can't fly. No pilot!
The pilot figures were ordered but they didn't arrive in time and the model was ready to fly otherwise so he flew it with the cockpits empty. Undoubtedly by now it has pilot figures installed.
Nice 👍🏽
Wunderschön!
superb well done to you.
Amazing camerawork. Can you explain your setup? I’ve never seen anyone track a plane that tight without any shakes or losing it out of frame. Thanks
Thank you for the compliment. The camera used for this video was the SONY AX53
Superb aircraft and superb piloting by the operator 👏👌🙋♂️👉🇦🇺
Great flight and landing 👍🏻
Great looking plane and flying 👍. Love the video. 😀💝
I find it interesting how the comments made here about the F-100 model differ from those made about the one-third scale F-104 model that @RCScaleAirplanes also recently posted a video about.
The usual crap about the F-104 being nicknamed the "Widow Maker" and "Flying Coffin" came up relatively quickly in the comments even though in reality, the F-100 was the real "Widow Maker" and "Flying Coffin" of the Century Series fighters.
The F-100 had 471 accidents resulting in 287 destroyed aircraft and 91 dead pilots during its time with the U.S. Air Force compared with 196 accidents resulting in 160 destroyed aircraft and 58 dead pilots for the F-104.
More interestingly, while aircraft with T-tails are notorious for their ability to enter into an unrecoverable deep stall, no comments have been made about the fact that *ALL* aircraft with swept wings are also prone to entering into an unrecoverable deep stall unless their designers do things to prevent it like adding wing fences.
Only a few commenters have mentioned the "Saber Dance" which is the unrecoverable deep stall that killed many of its pilots and virtually no one has followed up on these comments.
I mention the latter because this problem was only fixed in later F-100s, the F-100D IIRC, and yet the wing fences are *MISSING* on this model which I think should have them to at least look like an F-100F.
*_Very interesting !!!_*
The German Luftwaffe had 916 units of the F-104. 269 of them crashed and 116 pilots lost their life.
Fortunately, the F-100 was not in service in Germany.
*Here is a short story regarding the German version of the F-104*
But the "Annus horribilis" into which the Luftwaffe crashed 50 years ago did not make anyone smile. In 1965, 26 machines of the notorious type Lockheed F 104 G "Starfighter" crashed, one every two weeks on average. 15 pilots were killed. The insulting titles for the supersonic atomic bomb - "Widowmaker" and "Flying Coffin" - were then bitterly meant.
It was the worst year for the pilots of the breakdown airplane and their relatives. Twice in 1965, a start ban was pronounced - and canceled again, without having shut down the causes of accidents. It did not work, the fault was in the system, in the German system Starfighter.
*In the years of use from 1960 to 1991 of 916 machines crashed 269, 116 pilots died.*
The German Air Force had the Starfighter retrofitted to an unmanageable size. In addition to the bomb system dozens of other special requests were added, autopilot, infrared sight, complex computer systems, multi-purpose radar and so on. The pilots had to navigate thousands of pages of instructions before they climbed into their cockpit, where they had to watch over dozens of ads at the same time and could hardly see out the window. The maintenance regulations weighed almost three hundredweight. The causes of the crash were also manifold, sometimes technical, sometimes human error.
Other NATO countries with starfighters were not nearly affected by such problems.
@@RCScaleAirplanes
I'm not trying to minimize the loss of life that the German Luftwaffe and Marineflieger suffered in the F-104s, but let's be perfectly clear on this one thing:
While a lot of German pilots died in F-104s, the responsibility for their deaths lies *NOT* with them or the aircraft but rather with (West) German leadership at that time.
As far as I'm concerned, what happened in Germany is no different than if an irresponsible adult tosses the keys of a bunch of Formula One race cars to a bunch of youngsters who has only just gotten their driver's licenses having driven only VW Beetles.
Some of the are going to die needlessly when they wrap their cars around trees and such.
But is not the fault of the car ... they aren't "Widow Makers" or "Flying Coffins" and to call them that is just plain stupid.
The death of the youngsters belongs not to the youngsters themselves, but rather squarely on the head of the adult who gave them the keys in the first place without making sure that the youngsters were properly trained and otherwise up to the task.
Unfortunately, the German press (and after that, the German people) were apparently more willing to accept that the race car was the problem rather than their beloved "youngsters" who were not the same beloved experienced youngsters of WWII fame, and the result is that we have to this day the F-104 being described as a "Widow Maker" and/or a "Flying Coffin" rather than what their pilots say (including the German ones) which is that it was an "honest" but "unforgiving" aircraft.
The fact the F-104 accident rate dropped after Steinhoff took over and focused on training and retaining experience and such clearly shows that the F-104 was not the problem.
And fact that the accident rate did not remain high despite the continued use of the electronics added to the F-104G clearly shows that the "World" article from which the "history" comes from is just so much bullshit.
If you need more evidence than just my say-so, then take a look at the accident summaries for German F-104s in the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA's) "Lockheed F-104 Airworthiness Certification" document which can be found online.
(For those of you outside the U.S., the FAA is the government entity that regulates aircraft flown in the U.S.
The U.S. military does not sell/give its old aircraft to private individuals, but other governments can and do sell their old military aircraft to private individuals who then must get an airworthiness certificate from the FAA in order to fly them here.
In order to educate the inspectors who must do the airworthiness inspection, the FAA created the F-104 document to go over what makes such a foreign F-104 "airworthy" and it includes background information in addition to what needs to be inspected and why.
The summary I mention points out that in 1965 and 1966, a lot -- perhaps even most -- of the pilot deaths were hardware related as in an engine goes out, gear and flap problems occurred, the pilot didn't pull out of dive time, ... , etc.)
Nice
Cool plane I would welcome more on board video spexially approach and landing phase
