Another I'd toss out there is for the intended audience or platform: If I'm editing something for someone for a RUclips gaming video, that's going to be a lot different, naturally, than editing a wedding video for example. The audience and viewing platforms are much different, therefore the pacing and purpose is different. Loved your insights as always!
I've been working my ass off in editing my gaming videos but it doesn't click (literally), how long should a gaming video should be ? thanks in advance
*1.* Awesome work with the thumbnail (and the camera angle when you filmed the video), those leading lines really help with the composition *2.* Honestly, even tho you’re sick, your voice still sounds great and I don’t know what you did in the editing but it sounds much louder and fuller *3.* The way you changed up the typeface a bit is such a minor detail, but it still makes a big difference to the overall edit and you really nailed it this time around. Especially how you tracked it to move with the camera angles/background, super smooth and it flows well. *4.* When you started the video, especially by asking a question it felt a bit faster than the rest of it, so that slight bump in energy grabbed my attention quickly- also that humor is so on point, the fact that you included a clip of ibuprofen is such an Aidin Robbins thing to do 😂
I always enjoy your videos. They're so detailed and I love how you show your work and discuss why and how. They're better then some of the ones on skillshare
My words couldnot describe your work . always learning from you more and more day by day. Thank you for sharing your workflow without keeping secret.😍😍😍
Awesome message. I always learn something from your videos. You’ve given me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone and get in front of the camera. My new RUclips channel addresses mental health in first responders. I am a 20 + year veteran Firefighter/EMT. I have helped others for over half my life. I may not be able to change the world but my message can be the spark that makes a change for the next generation of first responders. Thank you for giving me that confidence and knowledge for making and editing videos!
I think this is one area where we really get to see the unique feel to everyone's content. Great topic that you don't see covered often. Great video brother. I like the "don't think about it to much" at the end . Very true
Dude seriously, this piece of info i wouldn't get from anywhere.. Thanks for sharing and yes i would definitely love to implement these in my upcoming projects You are the best, keep doing more
This is such a great topic, and a subconscious one at that. I found a lot of your list to be spot on with some of the background calculations my brain is running during my own edits. Excellent work in breaking it down into a more conscious and informed decision making process when it comes down to those frame by frame details.
Great video! I have often gone temporarily blind sitting at my PC working on a long edit. Lots of ibuprofen and eye drops! Sometimes it's just nice to step away for a moment.
Well, that is an intresting question 🧐 I think It mostly depends on what kind of emotions you want to bring to the viewer (as you said infact). This is something you and content creators like James Matthews explain well with great examples. But yeah, you are right, that is something we don't think about often!
I've been wondering about this since I began creating videos for our channel. I'll try not to think too hard about them, but those points really make the process a bit more clear. Thank you for your insight, Aidin!
Thank you for all the great insights you provide in helping us improve our skills in creating and editing content. Every video I watch is about various aspects of editing that I don't seem to find anywhere else or at the least presented in a way that stirs the creative juices inside all of us. I'm always amazed after watching each and every episode you produced.
Love your editing style as well as the constant same colours in all your videos. I will be great to learn how you do this. Thank you for this, I sometimes do struggle with chosing how long a clip can be. This helps a lot 😊
Thanks aidin for this amazing tutorial very well explained. Literally, i have finished just an edit before i watched this video and it’s very true that cutting isn’t something easy... takes times and it’s change every time in the theme of videos ( weeding- cinematic Travel film ... ) . By the way, i really like the b-roll of the time line ... soo unique man .
Awesome video Aidin! Now that you describe these techniques in detail, I can see how I sublty have done some of these things without even noticing! Like you said, a lot of experienced editors work based on instinct, and I feel like that's the way I roll.
It's so cool. thanks for giving the movie bro, so often making content about editing or even making short movies, the basic videographic photography don't over-go hiking, so thanks🔥
New subscriber here! So much great info packed this video. I always focus on pace but never thought about shot complexity! Going to keep this in mind for the next few edits.
I have just started editing in FCL. Please make a video on BTS of the different cuts you use in your vlog. Cause when I see ur video it's always like I'm watching a movie and I can't do that kind of technique. Pls, explain the different cuts you use most and are easy for beginners like me to do them.😊😊
Man was this video good. Love your style of moodiness. I’m new at all of this, glad I found this channel. I’m using DaVinci resolve 17. It can be quite intimidating but I’ve fallen in love with all of it, especially color grading. Don’t know much, but my goal is to create something moody, like in the movie Togo. That’s what I’m going for. Or another example, Twilight. Love the greens and the blues in that movie. But I’ll take it one step at a time
Good video Aidin! Be sure to also read this little book on the topic by Editing Veteran Walter Murch. Super interesting! ‘In the Blink of an Eye: A Perspective on Film Editing
@Aidin Robbins , If you're reading this comment first of all Lot's of ❣ from india brother , and the main thing is Can you please teach us how to edit smartphone footages , like those moody color grading and all , i shot my videos on Redmi phone's and try my best to colorgrade it on premier pro , but the result is not good it's has noisy grains . so ya if you read this comment please do a small response . Lot's of love.❣
My premiere pro is way more laggy, done all things from last week on RUclips & internet, done all proxy things, still its not fix.....I have canon R6, AMD 3800x 3.9ghz, 16gb ram, 500GB m.2 ssd + 2TB HDD, RTX 2060s I think I should format PC and reinstall all things again, JUST FEDUP OF this all time. Premiere pro sucks nowadays !!!!!! PLZZ help! Aidin

Absolutely!
I've been working my ass off in editing my gaming videos but it doesn't click (literally), how long should a gaming video should be ? thanks in advance
I really wish someone would make a video about this, or really just put out more info about editing gaming videos in general!
One of the underrated RUclips Creators out!! Mr. Robbins!!👍🏾💪🏾👊🏾
Cinema: As Long as you want
RUclips: Long enough for viewer retention
TikTok: 4 frames max 😆
No lies detected
The last word was such great advice. I always think 10 times before I cute any shot. Thank you for that awesome video ❤
Overthinkers are the greatest video editors
For all the efforts(from video shooting-editing-sound effects and what not) in keeping one glued to your tutorials and lessons you are the BEST

I know I’m in the right place! That Jeep just confirmed it 🤩 I just started studying filmmaking and have a Jeep to film!!! 👏👏👏
You Editing is Top Noche!
Well done man, shot pacing is definitely something I definitely struggle with! Always clutch with the helpful tutorials 💪💪
I always enjoy your videos. They're so detailed and I love how you show your work and discuss why and how. They're better then some of the ones on skillshare

So glad to hear that! Always enjoy digging into these topics that don't get much discussion
Thank you Aidin for covering the overlooked but really important stuff!
You explained this so well! When I edit i just go by instinct and feel but hearing this makes it a bit more concrete. Thanks!
OH BABY
It'll be pretty cool to see a studio tour or at least a breakdown of what gear you use to shoot videos
Gear is always linked below!

AIDIN! Another very informative and helpful video brother 🙌 thank you so much 😊
Thanks sir
Nailed this video - pacing for me is absolutely number 1. But even then, pacing to one person may mean something completely different to someone else
Aye. There’s the rub.
Can you please cover low light videography with budget gear maybe?
Love you bhai ❤️❤️🔥
HARD WORKING 👍
Great video and information! Your video is inspiring!
Amazing. So good.
great vids, very helpfull
😄
We back
this takes some experince to teach, even some exerpice to fully understand btw. But thank you for another great video today!

L.H.S = R.H.S
what is that sound effect 0:09 at revealing artgrid and also before it
Awesone video 🤙
can you give us some tips to edit hyper-lapse video. And i think it's a great title for a tutorial video too.
Sort to the most popular videos on my channel- I think you'll find what you're looking for :)
i love your videos so much can i ask you what is the mac model do you use for your editing ?
Do u shot in vlog? you use any lut to correct rec709 or use any plugin? Would be great to see your proccess of it, footage looks nice :)
Almost 1am here i'll just leave a like and watch this later
instinct definitly man
Hey see quickly ❤️
One good tip I got is try to not fall in love with your shot, otherwise we may feel the need to keep the shot longer than it should be. ;)
How do you record your screen in high quality like at 0:50 ?
Helpfull content
Glad to hear!
Videos live…they breathe…sometimes quick and shallow, sometimes slow and deep…
How do you plan the voice overs for the films?
Nice bro
🙌🙌
Good video Aidin!
Be sure to also read this little book on the topic by Editing Veteran Walter Murch. Super interesting! ‘In the Blink of an Eye: A Perspective on Film Editing
From where you have learned all this stuff?
Bro, what font you've used in this video?
Do you have any interior video shot/edit and I would like to see how it would be
Beyond the a-roll setups, not much- I tend to prefer the outdoor setting :)
4 seconds.
I noticed that each video in dark mood or at night but I afraid from night or darkness , would you like that?
idol again
The most important part of video editing is starting. Trust me, I'm watching this because I'm avoiding it.

Wow. The MOST IMPORTANT Part of Video Editing is actually PROJECT ORGANIZATION.
😍😍😍😍😍
