Complete newbie here in 2024. Was looking for a way to edit all my travel footage. RUclips presented me with your channel. I must say I'm impressed with how you shoot and explain all the cuts and scenes. Well done, Aidin.
Love the pacing explanation! I noticed it’s one of the least talked about on RUclips for film making tutorials aside from a boatload of channels only offering tutorials on transitions, b-roll, color grading, how to do this effects, etc
I said it when you started uploading videos and I'll say it again: You're very good and have a unique style. Please, if you ever feel the urge to follow the trends in RUclips film making, just don't do it. Let us see raw Aidin Robbins all the way. Thanks for keeping the uploads coming.
What impresses me is this guy is so young. I have been in the game for over 20 years and I do not know how he can understand so much yet there are so many who have been in the game for 40 years but do not understand this level of stuff. 10/10
the change of music from the first sequence to the second one, the pacing is organic man, loved it. aside from tutorials, good works and efforts behind them teaches the best. i find Brandon Li a master of sequencing and pacing - multiple sequences, gradual build up, cinematic af -all these packed into one whole story, an essence that lingers even after watching his works. I love how you are approaching to multiple sequences and weave them into a story these days.
These r the professional tips ... which r very useful for a editor...above all i will just add.. - if the story demands it , then u can break all the rules.. and using these techniques creatively with the story is what nakes a good editor.
Aidin Robbins Aidin..i am a big fan if yours from India.. so fewer times i see anyone giving tips on professional editing..each and every tips u gave were the most essential for a good editing work.. i watch all your videos.. keep making more and Stay home Stay safe. ...... We Shall Overcome........🤍🤍🤍
You have got to be one of the best short film makers on RUclips. I don't say that just to blow smoke. You have a creativity and a thought process that is super unique. Thanks for putting out these tutorials. It's helping me to think differently about the way I see things, how I put them together. I may only film heavy equipment but you're definitely changing the way I go about it.
Thank you for your advice! It's rare to find such concrete tips on improving your style and pacing, rather than generic tips like "cut on the beat etc"
Im just discovering you so thank you! Your teaching techniques are amazing…. Im mostly still 💫📸💫 and now just studying and learning timelapse and motion / editing and of all the youtube videos and friends in the industry ….you really stand out so thank you!
Easily the most informative tutorial I've seen yet. Just jam packed with great tips and techniques. Went straight to my saved list. Loved the video btw. NYC has a special place in my soul. I don't live there but travel there frequently. Love the city and all those who call it home! Thanks dude and keep up the amazing work!
Great explanation it definitely takes a lot of time a practice to get pacing right but this tutorial really helps explain it to hopefully speed up that process! 🔥
Another awesome video, Aidin. I can see how you use all these elements in your work. What I like about what you are saying here is that you are putting a name to what we all know to be true. This shows us who didn't go to film school, what to look for in an edit and what to do when we edit.
Your insight is amazing and inspirational. You've helped me to identify so many things that I felt were "wrong" - but I was not seeing them clearly - you hit them spot on! I am pretty sure that my videos will improve dramatically because of the MANY things you've taught me. I am immensely and forever grateful to you for that. Cheers! (btw - your videos go into my "Best of the Best" saved folder!)
Yo this really helped me man. A few weeks ago I started chopping up various pieces of music to only use the most hype portions, but I didn't quite understand why everything felt so bland even though it was high energy all throughout. Pacing is super important, but rarely talked about. Thanks for this bro!
My videos are more talking head style layered with b-roll for self development type topics, but these tips still will apply incredibly for me. Loved the tip on using a text layer as a visual for different sequences. Great stuff!
Many great tips - especially the structuring and “modulating the energy” ones - thanks. Helpful to become more consciously aware of and refined in these things.
Great information Aidin. Very much appreciated, perhaps in another video you can be editing a video and showing examples of pacing on an actual clip. I know it would be helpful to me.
Hey nice video. Because my college completely closed I made my way down to SC earlier this week from NYC I really miss the city right now - hope you are staying safe and healthy 🙏🏼
Really well put together video. I appreciated the info about different feels/colors distributed evenly so that nothing overstays its welcome or drags out. ..............keep up the great content.............
Thank you so much for making this video Aidin. I have personally been struggling with this topic for a while now, but after watching this video, I am confident that my edits will be paced properly.
Dude I’m still early in your video but I’m so so impressed so far. You’ve been putting in work in these last few videos man I’m blown away. Ok back to the vid
Thanks for so concisely hitting the nail on the head. I've never heard anyone else talk about this but realize how important it is. have you seen Sergio Leone's once upon a Time in the West? It's 4 hours long. some points are really exciting and worth the watch, and I know that they very exactly tried to Pace it, because at some point you could see even see the horse hooves hitting the ground at the same beat as the orchestra was playing. But other points like where the handicapped overweight guy was dragging on the ground, I was thinking to myself okay I get it let's move on. Quite the opposite has Peter Jackson believed that you should have something hard rock and very exciting at the very beginning of the film.. he thought it was like shooting a bow as hard as you could, and the excitement would remain to the end of the three and a half hour movie. Sometimes it worked. At any rate thanks for your instruction on something that I've always had struggles with.
the sound design was sickkk, really brings the footage to life. I would love to know how you captured the sounds and how you balanced them with your background music. great work as always!
Great tutorial Aidin! So important to have motion match, love the tip of adding digital zoom to clips to glue the idea together! And sound design helps a ton with consistency. Great video you have helped me up my video making game for years!
damn ...🔥 I'm literally controlling myself in this lockdown to not to shoot and here you came with this banger🔥🔥❣️Boom love to make the video with same song ..these are amazing
Great video. You deserve more followers. Well explained and examples shown. And as in all your videos your colour grading is insane. Beautiful to watch.
Aidin + Andrew James name a better duo I’ll wait 😤 I LOVE !! Everything about this video ! The explanation to the breakdown to the pacing it self really doing different things that not many people talk about on RUclips when it comes to film really standing out keep it up brother I appreciate the content and learning from other incredible individual like your self stay safe homie 🤙
Hey man thank you you just made my day now I regret few of the things not doing in my covid19 video , and my colur grade was also not at all proper in that video but as a 15 yr old I think that I will keep on progressing.
I don't mean to be rude but i can see some yellow ish skin tones. Could that be the result of the luma vs sat adjustment layer you like to do? Or just lighting? Or ?
Commenting about you talking with your hands. JK. It's not the first nor the last time I would save your videos to my favourite tutorials, you always brings a fresh new look that nobody else does. As much as I appreciate the trending styles of kold or jorden or the brolls of schiffer or lingren, your style is much different and you always focusing on underatted stuff that I wont see anywhere else. Thank you for sharing your content with us amateurs, keep it up!.
