Love these guys! Mongolian metal. They also did a couple “Metallica” covers. ❤️
Weird that this is considered metal, I got more like Southern Rock vibes with traditional Mongolian influence.
I got to see The Hu live in concert a couple months and it was an out-of-body experience. Their music transports you somewhere else.
You should definitely listen to Wolf Totem and watch the video while listening to it. (The original one not the one with Jacoby Shaddix.) That song just gets the blood flowing especially with the visuals of the video.
Oh hell yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
^^^THIS^^^
If your interested in hearing some more non-western Rock/Metal, check out the song "Heartless Scat" by the Japanese band Ningen Isu
Or Babymetal. Or Band Maid. Or if you really want to be confused as to what reality is, Lady Baby.
@@HeavyTopspin
Im still sad LadyBaby broke up
@@tarinindell8217 emily i think her name is who they got to do the screaming after ladybeard left is amazing shes a better growler than him in my opinion. Ningen isu would be another band id suggest to them too
This song is so catchy. I got to see them live with some friends in 2019 just before they seemed to blow up at a very small half filled venue. There were actually more elderly people there than I expected. So many people started singing along with the Yuve Yuve Yu part by the 2nd half of the song. It was great. Very cool to seem them play those instruments up close. The stage was so tiny though they were shoulder to shoulder and 2 of them looked like they could easily fall off the stage. Such a fun memory. You could tell he was just picking up English and was struggling with the little he said like Thank you in a couple parts of the set.
You need to watch the official video to get 50% of the effect. The instruments, the look, the terrain.
You should watch the official videos. Just have the lyrics on the side.
Might be for copyright reasons
The guitar is a bit different, but the instruments you are most likely hearing are traditional Mongolian 2-string instruments. The morin khuur is played with a bow (like a fiddle), and the tovshuur is played using your fingers.
Seem these guys in concert a few weeks ago, great energy show. You gotta check out
“Wolf Totem” they also did a cover of Metallicas”where ever I may roam”
Wolf Totem is the most popular, was on the radio, featuring singer from Papa Roach, which I would listen to if I were about to march into war. But you should really check out Song of Women featuring Lizzy Hale from Halestorm (by the Hu). Shout out to the amazing women in men's lives. Brad, promise it will make you appreciate Lex even more as she is sitting next to you :)
Definitely checkout Song of Woman ft. Lizzy Hale.
Mongolian Folk Metal. I love that you guys are getting into Folk Metal! There's so many awesome bands and this song is the best one of the HU to start with IMHO. Some other awesome Folk Metal bands to check out:
Finntroll - Trollhammaren,
Korpiklaani - Beer Beer, With Trees or Kadet siipina,
Ensiferum - Lai Lai Hei,
Eluveitie - Inis Mona or Omnos.. Probably Omnos to start as it's a little more.. folky.
Wolf totem video by this group is a must. Pure joy of life with a threat and an education.
Try Sugaan Essena by them. They did it as a soundtrack for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and you can see really good the way their instruments are played in official video.
It’s my favourite Hu song. So good.
This song cements them as the Mongolian super nerds they are and I love it! They actually wrote it on the language used in star wars which just makes it a million times better
Ahh getting into the folk side of things. This is such a fun place to go because of the variety of instrumentation and styles. Heilung - In Maidjan and Wardruna (& Aurora) - Helvegen are two great follow ups.
If you wanted to go heavier, Chthonic - Takao, Orphaned Land - All is One, Finntroll - Trollhammaren, Turisas - To Holmgard and Beyond all feature some great variety.
They are metal!! Attitude is what makes you metal or not... they may be folk/traditional, but attitude... love lex & brad reactions
LOUDNESS - Crazy Nights. 80s metal from Japan. They look glam, but the music is more straight heavy metal. Excellent guitar playing, produced by Max Norman, who worked with Megadeth in the 90s, notably on Rust In Peace.
The instrument you are talking about is called the Morin Khuur, also called the Horsehead Fiddle...
it's Mongolian rock actually, according to the band
I never heard of this band, but I might be a fan! There is definitely a lot of talent and I like the throat singing. Glad there was translation.
I love this song despite the fact that I have no idea what’s being said. Just the vibe of the song is great.
I love traditional music from the Asian steppe and beyond....a great folk band that is world famous are Huun Huur Tu, they are Tuvan, a Turkic people from the Mongol, Chinese, Kyrgyz steppe. The music is hauntingly beautiful....I'm glad that bands like the Hu existed to draw attention to this kind of music.
The Hu led me down the Mongolian metal/rock rabbit hole. Can’t understand a word but I sure have an entire Mongolian playlist:). If anyone on here likes The Hu check out Suld and Hanggai. Good stuff!
One day I stumbled across these guys. Fell in love.
Mongolian metal, that throat singing is awesome
I love this band ,their instruments are dope looking!...😎
Great review & reaction you two!..👍👍
I really hope you do check out more of their music videos.
they bounce between Rock and Metal, they even did some Metallica covers, so they have some ties to Metal but they also play with traditional instruments and throat singing.
The were supposed to play in Fresno in May of 2020. Covid took care of that show. I was bummed. I hope they will make it back this way.
I believe they were still stuck in Sydney at that point. They were in the middle of a worldwide tour, and had a nice big house in Sydney they were all sharing. At first they thought they could just ride it out in Australia (not a bad idea, given how low our cases were), but as it dragged on hey realised they needed to get home, though that took a few months. They were releasing vlogs to their RUclips channel at the time, it was very entertaining.
Song of Women ft. Lzzy Hale is a must, but please do the video. you get a real sense of them because you see them all playing their traditional Mongolian instruments. Lzzy's powerful vocals really add to the traditional chanting. it's commonly called Mongolian Folk Metal. they use traditional Mongolian instruments and do traditional Mongolian throat singing.
These Guys are INTENSE I just found out about them about 4 months ago! Cool Stuff!! Very Different 💯🎸👍
I think when this song came out(if memory serves me correct) in 2018, it was #2 most downloaded song on Amazon music behind Taylor Swift. Mongolian metal. Got to see them live for the first time at Rocklahoma 2021. 100% would recommend.
This particular beat definitely fits with Classic Rock, please don't let the detractors convince you otherwise...lol.
If you want to hear music that you have never experienced, Luna Lee on the gayageum, a traditional Korean instrument. She plays a lot of music.
Also, there is a guy who plays Heavy Metal Sitar. That is from India.
I love them. It’s different yet there is a vibe!!!
You two need to see them live. Saw them in September and they definitely have a vibe about them.
Try out the band Heilung their LIFA live In Maidjan epic performance described by the band as amplified history from the Iron and Bronze Age.The three founding members are from Germany,Norway and Denmark and Maria Franz vocals are amazing. This video is a must see IMO
But they have to watch the video, not just listen to the music. The visuals are essential to understand them.
Their show at Red Rocks a month ago was amazing, by the way.
@@UnexpectedTurnOfEvents added the video bit and hoping they react. I’m from Indiana and wanted to go to that show but didn’t make it.Yes you have to see it’s a visual experience with audio
Good suggestion!!! Such an amazing live performance!!!!
@@bridgetmccracken1381 thanks
I'm surprised you didn't start with WOLF TOTEM. I'm obsessed.
I consider myself a metal fan and i had never heard this Thanks for showcasing it. It was...well...different.
Gotta give a listen to “Song of Women “ ft. Lizzy Hale from Halestorm… SOOO GOOD!!! Mongolian Metal!!! 🔥🔥🤘🤘😎😎
It's definitely worth watching the actual music videos. The settings and instruments add such a level of beauty to the music.
I love these guys!
Lex is gonna love ❤ "wolf totem" oh and did I mention they also do a cover for "Enter the Sandman". It's worth it!!!
There's a new song out by an Indian Folk Metal group that's incredible (just heard it today for the first time). "Gadaar" by the band Bloodywood.
Photographed them just before COVID... awesome is an understatement.
Their video of this song is fantastic, amps up the vibe for sure.
These guys are awesome live. So different. A welcome change to todays music
First time I ever heard anything like this. Brad & Lex are schoolin' me.
The Wolf Totem video is the one you need to see😊🔥
It's Mongolian heavy metal with traditional mongolian insturments. Makes ya want to ride Ghengis Khan and his horde
I feel like I'm in a Mongolian spaghetti western with a guy with a didgeridoo voice
This song is dope!
Nice! Great to hear some folk metal. Should check out Bloodywood as well (Indian folk metal) - the new song they dropped is defo worth a listen/reaction.
Totally agree with Lex here, there is totally a Zydeco / Cajun element in this. Musically this is a pretty much basic rock / country progression with unique instrumentation. Good ears.
It's like Mongolian Folk Metal
The Hu is wild. Cool sound.
I love this song! It's so catchy. Try Song Of Woman with Lzzy Hale. I think you'll like it.
Sad But True & Song Of Women ft. Lzzy Hale by The Hu 🔥👍
🤘❤🇨🇦
There is a video with this song. You can see their instruments and clothes and really get more from their performance. Wolf Totum, and their song in The Jedi moved is great.
This is a really cool rythmn...not sure how something like that got on your rader..but really neat!!!
The video is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love your one piece shirt!!!!! Love you guys!!!!
YES!!! No video??
They're a Mongolian band, also they have a cover of Sad But True 🔥
*They're traditional Mongolian instruments.*
Love the Luffy shirt!!!
Thanks for listening to them, one of my favorites!!! The worda you are looking for is Mongolian Folk metal.
Recommendation for you guys. Rattlesnake by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. It's a weird one.
It’s pure tribal sound . It’s bad ass
Also chack Wolf Totem by The Hu. Video is important
Definitely need to check out Wolf Totem, both the original and the collaboration with Jacoby Shaddix (the lead singer from Papa Roach)
The group is so different that it’s hard to describe. They do a cover of Metallica that’s pretty good.
The band members play traditional Mongolian instruments.
This somehow reminds me of the opening of the show True Blood
There's a similar band out of India that call themselves Bloodywood.
Check out the song Ari Ari Ari. The Rap parts are in English , however not really sure what language the parts that are being sang is. I think it's Hindi but cannot be certain of that.
Great musicians.. love the song.. they got the music from another song but changed the lyrics.. Wolf Totem is a good one
Gotta chk out their hit:
"WOLF TOTUM"
Keep the world metal thing going. Try Bloodywood from India. Then look at Africa, Russia, South East Asia, New Zealand, South America. Metal is universal but everyone brings something personal and cultural to it, it's beautiful.
The singer sounds like Sparky of Demented are Go. If you want to check out a wild one, try Who Put Grandma Under the Stairs - My Love for Evermore is a cool duet too
Do Western Flyer song "Cherokee Highway" (the video)
Check out the version with Papa Roach
Great song! You should check out The Hu - Wolf Totem (VIDEO)
Song of women, by the Hu feat lzzy Hale will move you.
i would describe them as folk metal
you guys should check out some Baby Metal
you should have done the Metalica cover Sad but True
I love you nuggets!! there are almost 8 billion people on this planet. North America has 500 Million !! So 7.5 billion people listen to different things!! i love that your taking a journey! Try Bloodywood - Gaddar! they are a self funded band from India!!
Mongolian instruments and Throat Singing!
Check out Rez Metal. It stands for Reservation Metal, so basically they're Native American bands that work their culture into the metal genre.
traditional Mongolian throat singing, if you like this, check out Alash
Check them out live pls for full experience 🎶🎵
The did some Metallica covers as well
As already mentioned below, react to Sugaan Essena!
Check out their Metallica cover.
You really really really REALLY have to try the song Slaget vid blodsälv by the finnish band Finntroll!
Mongolian Metal! Yeah! Using electric versions of traditional Mongolian instruments. This song is much more enjoyable in the "official video", with them all out in the wild. They even did a song for star wars jedi: Fallen order that's a language created just for that.
Music of the Sardaukar.
They are awesome live and it’s more like folk metal but still metal and their videos are awesome and maybe you should check them out
U should have watched the video. It is pretty epic
I see that luffy shirt 👀
If Lex is Luffy, then who is Brad? Zoro? Ace?
Luffy, Lex has the best t-shirts.
onigunso by sex machineguns! Awesome japanese band from the 90's
KYLE KYLE KYLE
Alien Weaponry- Kai Tangata serious tribal heavy metal
