I'm enjoying following this route 66 adventure! Going to Pops would be on my must see list too! Glad the tire wasn't a disaster! Safe travels from NJ 🚐💙🥤
Another fun video, hurrah for the “Blue Whale” and muffler man, is riding shot gun in the corner. The music is really enjoyable. Glad you were still there for the neon lights on the soda bottle.
I love it and can't wait until it's Monday (or Tuesday) again! To unscrew the spare wheel, I bought a size 13 hexagon socket nut and can now unscrew the spare wheel much easier and faster than with the wrench that came with it. The furniture in my car is also in the way for me and with a ratchet and the 13 nut it works without any problems.
Sorry for the delay in our next video, we were without strong upload speeds for a while and weren't able to upload our video! It is up now :) Thank you for the suggestion on the ratchet/13 nut as well! Mike was saying that we need a better system for if we get another flat so we will definitely have to look into that! Thank you so much for your support and for watching, we really appreciate it!
I’m surprised you didn’t stop in Stroud. You’ve mentioned cars but that’s where the idea came from. The imagineers talked to the owner of the Rock Cafe and she told them about the history of Route 66. She was also the inspiration for Sally.
Thank you for the recommendation, we really appreciate it and you watching! We are hoping to do Route 66 again, specifically during its centennial in 2026 and will have to mark Stroud on the map for next time. That is definitely a place we would have loved to visit 😊
Mark the crap, with chalk the screw so that you, or whoever can find it to repair with a patch on the inside. Keep a plug kit and some sort of tire goo / tire inflater. I've only had to use that once, but we were nowhere to walk out of. If you ever have to walk out to find help stay together. Much easer to overcome one person than two. Safe Travels, have fun!
Really enjoying the Route 66 series. Did the soda shop have Dandelion and burdock or Tizer? (Now showing my age…lol). Looking forward to your next adventure, stay safe!
No problem! We are not experts by any means and want you to be able to get the information from the people/books who actually know something haha Thank you so much for watching, we really appreciate it!
We drove through Santa Fe and were absolutely blown away with how beautiful that section of Route 66 was! We are already talking about a return trip to that area because we did go through it rather quickly and would love to explore it more. We drove past the Blue Swallow Motel and said next time we will have to stay there! We will have to add the museum to our list as well. Thank you for the suggestions, we really appreciate it and you watching!
@@mikeandheather a couple of thoughts on Arizona. Stop at a place called Bearazona. It's a drive through wildlife park and much more. Worth the stop. Plan to spend some time in Williams. Lots to do any see. Even a zip line down rt. 66. You can take a day trip on the train to the grand canyon. It was great. Be sure to stop in Seligman. Maybe get a bite to eat at the snowcap. Look for the burmashave signs. Enjoy the trip.
We would have loved to check out the round barn more, unfortunately it was closed by the time we were in the area! You will have to let us know how it is when you stop there! Thank you so much for watching our videos, we really appreciate it and you!
We are having a blast! Wow, 2 months! Sounds like your trip is going to be amazing as well, where are you headed?! Most of the time if we are sleeping in a parking lot there is usually a gas station not too far that we use the bathroom in, the majority of them are open 24/7 so that is really helpful! We have used the pee jug/urinal a few times when that wasn't the case (and have dumped it in rest stop bathrooms the next day) but for the most part, public bathrooms aren't usually hard to find! When we started traveling in our van, the bathroom situation (or lack thereof) was something that really intimidated us but we have found that it really hasn't been an issue. Hopefully that is the case with you on your trip! Thank you so much for watching, we really appreciate it!
No gift shop BUT in almost every Rt. 66 gift shop around that area there is blue whale merchandise! We bought stickers and post cards with the Blue Whale on them from the Buck Atom's gift shop 😊
There is a gift shop at the blue whale. It’s the small building on the right. It’s tiny but the lady that runs it, if she still does, is a blast and really knows her history
Pops looks like a lot of fun, and the blue whale was adorable!
I love your optimism when life gives you obstacles. Thank you

Love the Route 66 adventures sorry about the tire problems, but at least you had an extra tire.
I Can’t wait for the Texas part. I’m happy the trip is going good for you guys.

@@mikeandheather Ur very welcome 🙂👍❤️
Continue to enjoy the journey. Love that you guys share the history at each point.
More fun times well except the screw. I think I'd stop at that store for a week trying all those sodas.

As you get to new Mexico, stop in Santa Rosa, museum., Santa fe. Lots of churches and art.
See the blue swallow motel.

I think I'll skip the soda ranch, because I don't like soda and want to head back to that round barn. I'm having fun watching your videos!

Thank you! We really appreciate the kind words and you watching, it means a lot!
Your missing OKC?? There's so much there!
Looks like fun! How are you dealing with the bathroom issue while sleeping in parking lots ? We will be in our van for a 2 month ride trip .
