Any chance you can somehow turn the volume up? For whatever reason your videos are like 3/5 as loud as everything else on youtube and its tough to hear you on a cell phone with full volume (much more so John than you) unless I am in a room that is completely silent.
All is going well brother! Be sure to watch Season 2, Episode 2 of Knife or Death on the History Channel on 10/10 at 10:00pm - I'll be on it with my King Kukri! :)
My very fist instructional was John Danaher's Kimura System. I have gotten a few instructionals after that and I have come to realize that John's approach is the best standard and should be the industry standard. Other instructionals simply offer you techniques and might chain some of them together. Everything is interconnected in John's system, it is explained in painstaking detail, reasons are given as to WHY you do something, and he explains multiple ways in how a technique can fail and the response to those failures. On top of that, his stuff works!!! The big key to any instructional is that you have to find a good training partner and consistently drill the moves. That can get in the way of regular training sometimes but when you find the balance it works.
Danaher is just a genius .. obviously put on this earth to teach Jiu jitsu..all his techniques I feel are just sure fire submissions..this guy is just amazing!! Oss!!
Thank you Sir OSS 🙏🏻 Sir Danaher’s videos are so in details and very minute ones. His voice is so saint type so calm and peaceful. It is as if he is training meditation. Amazing. I am so grateful for your videos Sir🙏🏻
Danaher is a technical beast..but his sense of humor always gets me lol he likes to add in his little jokes about not being flexible or having limited movement from his hip replacement and being able to do all the techniques lol
My daughter does mma and, like any good dad, I let her practice on me. Hands down this is the most unpleasant experience yet, I could not tap fast enough! Breaking it down into 3 key areas really helped her learn it. I’m going for a lie down.
7:31. Look at Bernardo's face. He looked right at the camera and the look he had was like, "Fuuuuuuuuuck." Lol. Way to hang in there though Bernardo. You the man 👍.
I always thought my arms created a 90 degree angle. In reality the elbows are almost aligned it's just that when you change the head position and fall to the opposite side of the high elbow, you are able to get the elbow on top of the trapezius. This creates the high elbow. I was going crazy wondering why can't I get my elbow high and over the trap between neck and shoulder.
Would it be easier to hit the high elbow guillotine if you switch the grip of the high elbow hand? Meaning turn your palm away on the support hand like a reverse gable.
How would one get a hold of John Danaher's email? I'd like to talk with him regarding some of the trials and difficulties of having a similar paralyzed leg issue. My right leg is partially paralyzed and I'd like to know how he overcame his situation in regards to Jiu-Jitsu.
So is this version a blood choke, or a blade (pain) choke? Without the back of the neck compressed, can you still get a triangle-like compression to stop blood flow??
I'm sure it will. Moving the head over is a HUGE advantage as you guys said. Your videos have helped me a lot! I watch them on my phone before class :) I hope to get my brown belt this winter,God willing. Thanks you Bernardo! Osss.

Danaher begins to murder someone. Person tries to defend.
Danaher (whispering): "That's not going to happen in the time available."
I want to start working that into my rolls now lmao
Bernardo is the nicest guy in bjj.
Yes. Bernardo just gave away a free instructional to literally everyone because of the corona, he's the nicest high level Jiu Jitsuka I've seen.
He is brazilian Kermit
100% good dude. Such a great ambassador of the sport.
I bet it would be a huge honor to train with him.
NMF
The man can teach.
John Danaher showed up to Matt Serra's wedding wearing a rash guard. This is a man committed to his art.
Its the tiny details he explains so clearly that makes him incredible! If I ever travel to NYC I wona get a class in with him and Marcelo (of course).
+superchunkylover23 Where are you from?
London :)
Cool! I've been to NYC!
2:15 high elbow guillotine chinstrap grip
5:55 repeat
6:55 beats opposite side defense
11:00 proper defense of high elbow guillotine
Excellent and extremely detailed explanation.

Danaher talking and choking both sending him to sleep.
jwm0z most boring instructor on the planet
He has sus vibes.
John is the kind of person where if you have no idea what he was talking about you would go to sleep but if you understood he blows your mind
Man, somebody give danaher a mic!! p.s. all of these Danaher videos are pure gold. Each one is a priceless gem. Thanks so much Bernardo & Co!
Subbed my first black belt during a roll as a blue belt yesterday with this move. Thanks John!
Poor Bernardo! Looks like he was struggling to stay awake even after John released the choke.
You want to get submitted by a high elbow you roll with Marcello. You want to learn all the details you watch John.

Really enjoying the way john breaks down each part of the technique, makes it easy to follow.
Excellent breakdown. Thank you for having him teach this!
This series is pure gold! Each Danaher video is like a mini seminar. Thanks so much for this content!
Mini seminar? More like a maxi-seminar imo.
Danaher is just a genius .. obviously put on this earth to teach Jiu jitsu..all his techniques I feel are just sure fire submissions..this guy is just amazing!! Oss!!

Wow! Mr. Danaher's attention to detail is an awesome thing to behold.
Bernardo earning his pay in this one.

7:25 Bernardo is feeling those chokes.
Mike Michaels hahahah thats true
Strangles* ;)
At 7:29, Bernardo looks like he is going to barf.
I notice that too. Bernardo’s face change lol happens to everyone lol
Looks to me like he just got smacked by an edible
Absolutely brilliant thanks ❤
Interesting to compare this with Garry Tonon's vid on how he applied it from snap down vs. Kit Dale.
Incredible amount of detail, these videos have been very helpful bernardo I hope you continue to post them and help us all out on our journey.
Qwoptheplop thanks so much for the feedback my friend
This man's a fucking samurai.
Danaher always solves my issues with the most simple solutions. Here I am wondering why I can’t get my damn elbow that high all this time. Wow
Pure Marcelo move
7:31. Look at Bernardo's face. He looked right at the camera and the look he had was like, "Fuuuuuuuuuck." Lol. Way to hang in there though Bernardo. You the man 👍.
Hahahaha, yep
This guy is so technical. He is a kind of genius...
Never did this version rolling (maybe drilling) sounds effective I think I'm going to try it, thx.
Marcelo Garcia is the Initiator of This move !

Awesome video! Very detailed one.
Deep Half osssss
Great adjustment

Great technic!
I feel like John is staring into my soul at the beginning.
A man need this dvd
Awesome details
JOHN DANAHER MUST BE AN INTJ!!!!!
Love the details 😍
Thank you Bernando for taking all these chokes 😅

Grips tho. How do?
What grip are you using on your hands sir thank you
This dude approaches bjj with the attitude of microbiologist
MARCELOTINE
just freakin amazing. John Danaher on berimbolo next 😝
I highly doubt he knows how to do a Berimbolo :)
Of course he knows how to berimbolo are you daft
the audio is low, john has a soft voice so the problem is amplified
I wonder if they set the level using Bernardo as the reference.
Dope pun
You don' have a volume nob?
@@Frip36 mines all the way up, i can barely hear him. Im watching on mobile, no headphones
I can hear fine with my headphones, but maybe turning on captions could help you guys who can't hear him
Bernardo almost passed out
i gotta watch this at 2x speed so i dont fall asleep
wow....just wow
love it
5:38 OK john xD
great detailed explanation, though! :D
Dropping knowledge bombs !!!!!!!🇧🇷🏴🐊🥋🥋🥋🤪🤪
Would it be easier to hit the high elbow guillotine if you switch the grip of the high elbow hand? Meaning turn your palm away on the support hand like a reverse gable.
Must see in pink chirt
Fuuck even his feet are in high elbow mode!!!
would this be effective with the gi?
5:30 Bernardos face lmao
How exactly does raising the elbow contribute to the choke?
If their really strong and you can’t dig under the chin do you just do it over the chin?
Blz, poxa gostaria de conhecer um pouco da história do professor John em português 👍🏻
I can’t see how he locks his hands
So it’s not a chin strap grip?
I find people are tapping before your leg even gets over the back or before you even lay back
After getting choked by danaher this man was like woohha man that was some high dose. .main
Occasionally I find myself saying "extreme breaking pressure" in John Danaher's voice for no particular reason
5:22 very important detail, or he can just roll out of it :)
Has John ever competed?
gordon danaher whoever
this guys technique ...most of just inspired MG
How to deal with shoulder pressure when doing arm-in guillotine then?
Flying Hedgehog great question... Im 99% sure he included it in his new instructional, “Enter The System: Front Head Lock Attacks”
@@BernardoFariaBJJ when the headlock Series Released?
John Danaher has Ed Edd n Eddy toes.

Yes, this is a blood choke. I know from experience of being on the receiving end
very off topic john danaher sounds like brynjoff from skyrim in riften
Poor Bernado being a volunteer for sich an uncomfortable technique
who the hell is the one guy who disliked this??
vinnie magalesh
👌
I can’t hear the guy. I could hear the red shirt fine.
Danaher has PhD is BJJ
Is "Dokebi" on his rash guard a new brand? It means Goblin in Korean folklore.
Yeah, it is a brand. Seem decent enough, never tried one, though.
Ok...em
When does the headlock system come out ?
Tony Lewis , very soon Tony, I believe end of this month (september 2018), it will be up... Osss
Thank you Bernardo, ill see you soon at your seminar in Phoenix I’m super excited!!!
I suck at the high elbow. Always lose positioning and end up in the guard. I just try to flip him over with good leg pressure.
Mikey B. Hope this video helps Osss
I'm sure it will. Moving the head over is a HUGE advantage as you guys said. Your videos have helped me a lot! I watch them on my phone before class :) I hope to get my brown belt this winter,God willing. Thanks you Bernardo! Osss.
top notch details, thanks. got a class tonight, gonna try to lean and drop to my side...see how that plays out and if it feels natural.
Is it mandatory to be bald to use this technique?
👍
as soon as Danaher is speaking it is more like a hearing Test. Couldnt hear shat.
