    Amazing job to both Coach Firas and Mr. Pravec! I really enjoyed this.... I wanted so bad to be there and ask questions and show variations!! I've been working on something new for the past couple years and this is motivating me to release it soon! This video is spot on with technique!! RUclips GOLD! 🤙

    I love how Firas is a killer and trainer of killers, but as a world know blackbelt he still tries to be the student. He knows when to listen and learn. Most people in his position would have stopped learning a long time ago with his accomplishments.
    My wife and I met Karel on a trip to NEW YORK in the blue basement and out of the room full of world-class people he is still a legend among them, but he was still hands down the nicest and most inviting of them all. He visited with us before and after and acted like he knew us forever.

    I’ve never gotten as many taps in an open mat since watching this vid. The angles with both guillotine(and not letting them control the outside leg) and the von flute with turning outwards to apply angled pressure. So effective

  • @amnfox
    @amnfox 2 года назад +1

    I definitely was tearing heads off with my guillotine. I even had a training partner complain that I tweaked his neck with it. This video really helped me better understand where I was lacking and the true nature of this choke. appreciate it guys. 🥂

  • @AbuDurum
    @AbuDurum 5 лет назад +1

    Loved the sweep from bottom side control. Sometimes you just don't react in time with the front headlock sprawl especially and you often end up in that position. Gotta remember that one for when I get back on the mats, God willing. Thanks for the video Firas and Karel.

    loved the armbar demo from the last one, gotta try this one too. I was a fan of Marcelo's guillotine but this variation of shoulder and hip out could get me to the next level I need to be. Effective and less strength technique is the jiu jitsu I like.

    Great details! Thanks so much Karel, hopefully I'll get to train with you sometime at StoutPGH!
    Also, at 16:47, my thought was, block the hip with the right hand, releasing the head with the left and turning clockwise, grab the armpit with the left hand to anchor, block the hips with the right forearm and hip escape to break posture, cinch up the buggy choke. I'm gonna post a video on that soon, I think.

    • @RadicalTrivia
      @RadicalTrivia Год назад

      Here's me hitting it on Mike Wilkins, but before I learned the hip/knee block-hip escape detail: ruclips.net/video/IYdtQVUkg-k/видео.html - it would have worked sooner if I'd collapsed his posture and started to roll him over with that lower hand.
      "This one has some merit." - Mike, at this very moment as the buggy is applied 😂

    gooood video. this is literally EXACTLY the reason why dustin porier didn't finish the guillotine choke against khabib last ngt. i paused this video to go check the fight last night and dustin porier leaned back instantly when he got the guillotine instead of bringing his shoulder forward over khabibs head. even khabib said that the choke was deep but now i see this was the missing peace. and khabib almost flipped over on his back so dustin cldve rolled him over. good video.
