For the first time in over 20 years, Capcom has re-released RE1 on PC, and it's a version that works on modern systems out of the box! In this video, I play though the entirety of the game as Jill with eventual guest appearances by Ryman, Icewave, and Jtegh!

That line 'Evil has a New Address. Yours.' was written on the back of the box of the original Windows 95 CD rom release of this game from 1997.

Nice. Resident Evil Director’s Cut was originally supposed to get all those uncut scenes, as that was one of the draws of the collection … and then they put the censored version back in.

The lack of a need for the ink ribbon reminds me of how the Playstation version of Core design Tomb Raider games had save crystals while the PC versions didn't. I guess developers determined that PC players want the convenience to save any time with their large storage space while the console players have limited save slots.

Chris still requires ink ribbons, and according to Suzy, Jill also has them after beating the game once but I guess I've never messed around with NG+ much to confirm it myself

Oh, it's pretty great... but it's also so very bad. I'm happy it's this bad, but it's just funny to think none of the cheesiness was intentional. This was their earnest attempt at making a serious horror game, and they accidentally made one of the best comedies ever.

It's as moddable as the original release, especially if you install the files necessary for REbirth to run.
