  • Against our better judgment, Gar and I play through the Nintendo 64 port of Duke Nukem 64 and we experience what might be the worst-controlling version of the game ever. In the game's defense, maybe it plays better on a real N64 with its funky controllers, or maybe there are other settings we could have tweaked to make it better (I did experiment quite a bit with the controls before we started, though).

They should have added like a health bonus for each babe saved, that would give you motivation to try and find and save them all. If your max health increased by +1 for each saved and there's 50 to save in the game, you could potentially reach the end boss with a total health cap of 150 instead of 100.

The extremely narrow field of view, causing it to look like you are constantly using a pair of binoculars, truly makes this a challenge to watch/play.

Yeah, the low FOV was a struggle throughout this. The overly sensitive controls were an even bigger pain. I don't think this is a version of Duke3D I could ever recommend to someone. FOV would be better in single-player, but you'd still have to deal with the bad controls.
