I was born in 1981 and I remember vividly how Penny was being called “the next guy” after MJ retired to play baseball, and then he came back. Myself and all my friends had Penny jerseys and the shoes. He was that highly regarded. Kids wanted to be like him. That 90s era was just special. It’s hard to describe. But the amount of TALENT and the epic feeling of seeing all these great players go at one another was the stuff that you talked non-stop at school or the barbershop with friends and family. I just don’t get that same feeling watching the NBA today. It’s rather boring and tedious to watch basketball today. No defending, less attacking into the paint, etc. Just teams shooting from mid and long range. No variety. The 90s was really special.

This game was the only game the Magic won from here on out against the Bulls that year. I think it also rolled over all the way into 1998. This is the game Penny said it pissed Mj off and the Magic never won again including the sweep in the ECF 1996. 72-10 that year. It goes to show you how close the Bulls could have won 75 games that year. close losses. This is also the game MJ played not so well. Every game after that Mj dominated Penny. Penny was no slouch! loved his game! unfortunately, he and Hill injuries definitely kept him out of the top 10.

Healthy Hardaway, in his prime, was better than Kobe. I remember watching those Orlando Magic teams when my favorite player Shaq came into the league. There is nothing Penny could not do that Kobe could not do. The only difference was Penny was a little taller, longer, had much bigger hands, was a better three-shooter, and was a much better passer.
