Indeed. The crew actually has a very good concept of food and its composition, too, of which a lot of people, both men and women and adult, have no clue.
Honestly this feels like the best video my team & I, have ever created after celebrating hitting 900k subscribers. When I started youtube 3 years ago, I’d never been on camera, I was so shy & nervous I didn’t think I could do it. Then I got into and remembered all I’m doing is cooking and cooking is all I know, it’s my life & my art. This video encapsulates that. The style of video is everything I ever wanted my RUclips channel to be. An entertaining, humorous, cinematic, cooking video that is fit for TV. I’d like to thank you all for your support & the biggest thanks to my incredible team, for putting up with my creative demands & turning my visions into reality. ❤️ Gaz
Hey Gaz, since you're doing challenges now, I would really like to see a video whereby you do different dishes using a few ingredients that one would generally purchase in one shopping haul for a week or so... it would be splendid for those of us who enjoy eating different cuisines and freshly made meals everyday using the same ingredients. 🥑🥦🥬🌶🍞🌽🍅🍄
ITS REAL NICE TO HEAR SUCH A HUMBLE APPRECIATION AND PASSION TOWARDS YOUR CHANNEL AND GIVES US WHO ARE JUST STARTING, (THAT MAYBE ALSO HAS SOME TYPE OF FEAR OR SHYNESS AS WELL, THAT CONFIDENCE THAT IT CAN BE DONE. YOU CAN TURN YOUR PASSION INTO A SUCCESS, AND THANKS FOR BEING THAT ROLE MODEL. 🙌
I wanna say you're one of the most - if not the most - authentic high quality content producing youtubers out there. Really love your recipes. The video is a banger as always of course
Shouldn’t have watched this video whilst starving. I’m salivating like one of my Labradors. The produce at that market was phenomenal. Well done. More like this please.
You are helping to keep my family interested and nourished. Your beautiful recipes are amazing! 27 days of plant 🌱 based eating. I can’t see myself going back to the old ways. The veil has lifted from our eyes and so has the grogginess thanks to #thegamechangers #whatthehealth and you
@@gazoakleychef My father has late stage lymphomia and since all hope in medicine is lost I've started cooking for him (almost) completely plant-based for the tiny hope of extending his life a bit longer (and witness the birth of his first granddaughter). Till now I've only used your recipes (except for the wicked healthy king oyster BBQ strips) and carefully selected the one I think he would like best. He really loved and dug in into the meal prep chili with sour cream, I also added the avocado. I was disappointed he thought the one-pot-pasta was too sour (though me and my mom loved it). Every day is a battle but your recipes really, really help me!
Gaz I’ve been subscribed since you’ve had about 300k subs and I watch all your videos even if I have no intention of cooking. I couldn’t be any happier seeing you hit your stride having your channel explode recently! You are the most wholesome RUclipsr ever and you deserve so much seeing how much work and craftsmanship you put into all your videos and recipes. I check your sub count daily to see how close you are to 1M because I can’t wait to finally have the opportunity to go to your restaurant and try your food! Keep it up!!
Best bit of the video, seeing Gaz’s face as he watches the crew try the food. The look of anticipation, joy, pride and passion, wonderful! Given that I can’t taste that food, that look made it worth watching.
@@gazoakleychef I hope you do! That would be amazing and I'll be sitting in front of my tv watching you. I can't wait til you open up your own restaurant. It has been so exciting to watch you and your channel grow into a super successful brand. Also looking forward to your next cookbook!
I really enjoyed this challenge. The chayote aka chocho is a staple in Jamaican food and a must in soups....but never uncooked. I would love to see more of these videos. Thanks Gaz.

The way that you always handle produce with so much respect, even as you were cutting the mushrooms before plating, shows how much you love what you do. I’ve been subscribed for a while now. I love it, it's such a blessing! Thank you for being such an amazing inspiration Gaz, you're so authentic! And I definitely HAVE to try those mushrooms... ohhh God I'm speechless, they look AMAZING!

One remark: I appreciate you trying to shop more sustainably(refusing a bag) but it's high time you invested in some reusable produce bags as well! Supper light, mesh ones are the best for such crazy travel lifestyles, as you can take them virtually everywhere!
You are by FAR my most favorite chef! I also make/keep your dad's chilli oil in our house 24/7. Great addition to any dish. I make so many of your creations. D-lish!

I love this market challenge concept...what a great idea. You can't get any fresher or more local than this; you will have visit farmers' markets everywhere! Congratulations on 900K, Gaz! Looking forward to your new book, your book tour, and your restaurant!
I just finished seeing your mystery to ingredient video!!!!! I loved it so much!!!! The farmers market in LA looked extraordinary, what amazing ingredients! What you did with them was so flippin awesome! My mouth is watering still! I love seeing your team being a part of your video! You seem to have come alive in the most inspiring exciting way! LA seems to be good for you, I'm not suggesting that you are necessarily going to move there but, I can certainly see why you want to visit when you can! Thank you!!!! ❤️Kathy
Blown away once again...It's so pleasing to see you make food and see the love and passion that goes into it! I would give anything to try some. You and your crew are so amazing!!! Loved this vid concept
I love your excitement for this video. All new environment and conditions helped you create something unique! Your team is amazing, friends sharing experiences is above unique. Keep up, guys! Thank you for the creativity!
Hey Gaz, that Chayote is also called a mirliton. It was very popular in New Orleans, Louisiana. True fact: this fruit grew wild in my mother’s backyard. They generally cook the pulp, add onions and garlic for flavor. Some add meat products or it can be a veggie dish. It is baked in the oven in the shell topped with bread crumbs. 🍽
Absolutey loved this challenge! Hope you'll make these a monthly feature on your channel, or something. Also, I love how your crew is so culturally diverse. You guys are a pleasure to watch! And less than 100k left to the million subs! So excited! That restaurant is coming!
Gaz and the crew, this is a TRIUMPHANT !!! I am inspired by Gaz's concept, techniques and creative spirit. Meanwhile, I would like to share a bit of my experiences: here, oyster mushroom is described to resemble the taste of well-prepared chicken thigh, whereas it is indeed used by classic Chinese vegan cuisine to mimic the taste of poultry or of silky flash of delicate fish; chayote squash, because of its meatiness and sturdy texture to withstand heat, is used in hot dishes like curry (as w/ garbanzo beans), stew, soup, etc..
Thank you for different ingredients and ideas to cook with. The crew was fabulous in picking the perfect ingredients. I look forward to your restaurant.
Please do another challenge, that looked so fun! Wish I could’ve tried it! I love cooking and eating mushrooms! Oh Gaz, by the way my ex-mother-in-law cooks with chayote often. She uses it like a potato in soups and stews.
Loved this so much!!! You transmitted what the pure joy of cooking feels like. Great great video. Seriously one of my favorites, and I’ve marathon almost ALL your videos the past 3 months!!
It’s funny this is the first time I recognize an ingredient you’re showing and you have never seen it lol funny to me that they had never seen the chayotes, it’s one of the main ingredients in the traditional cooking from where I am from, Oaxaca Mexico. Depending on the region you’re from, there are those that cover it with fresh ground coffee beans(there are coffee farmers) and then those that boil it and peel it and drizzle it with fresh honey. And there are those that add this into “caldos” which is like chicken stew or beef stews. It is very versatile 🙂🙂 great job! I’m excited I want to try to do this, I watch your recipes and there are so many ingredients I’ve never seen and don’t know where to get it etc etc but I just love this channel! I hope one day I can taste your food!!
Beautiful video; I love cooking challenges. I also love visiting LA's beautiful farmers markets - Santa Monica, Hollywood, Torrance are my favorites. Such a treat in the winter when our markets on the east coast are not featuring much that is fresh and local. Keep up the good work!
Aahhh, loved this concept! So entertaining and raw, watching you cook is such bliss! Also, "devils fingers" instead of the enlightened lemon meringue cracked me up 🤣🤣
Gaz you're such a great chef, and in my opinion above the omni famous ones because no animal is ever harmed for you to produce amazing tasty food. Life doesn't get better than that my man 👍
It looks delicious. I've never tried chayote squash nor purple cauliflower. The mushroom looks incredible. You inspire me to try things that I wouldn't before. Thank you for this video.
This was inspiring for me to watch. I love watching your videos, and looking at all the wonderful colors you create with your dishes, popping out against the dark chalkboard kitchen wall you cook in front of. I can't wait for your restaurant, and hope to eat at it some day. For now I'm going to try and recreate the dishes you make. I love cooking, and your dishes intrigue me. All in all, great video.
Late to the party (your channel) yet I'm so pleased I came. Only a few videos in and already I'm inspired to up my cooking game. Proper dishes, beautiful energy and a great team. I believe you will have that restaurant :) Thank you Gaz!
I got sooo hungry watching this! Gaz, as always, I adore your vibe. And I am really happy to see your crew on camera. They're really cool. I am looking forward to new videos like this. Well...to any video you make, really 🤗
Welcome to SoCal! All the farmer's markets are like that - local produce picked that day. Open a restaurant here in LA! Wasn't it 1mill subscribers and you would open? Soon.
You blow my mind..so creative..nice challenge..give me more...I've been a macrobiotic eater since I was 20yrs old..am 60 now..my profile picture tells it all been healthy for me..and your cooking opens a whole new avenue to explore..Thank you so much!!!!!
Loved the edits ! LOVED the video. Honestly Gaz, and team...I was in Happy happy tears. You took us along with you. I was in love with Welsh beings before this - and now Omigod! There is something so clarified and clean and integrous, and colourful and bountiful, and in the moment about you, Gaz. And you seriously set the tone and guide the outcomes of those with you in the team. I get this, I really get it :-)
This was so fun!!! Gaz, you and your crew did an amazing job. I would love to see another one of these challenge vids! Keep living your dream, and much love to you!
Fun fact!! The chayote is called a chou-chou where I live and we make this stew with it that's vegetarian by default and can be veganised by subbing with a non-diary yogurt. It's closer to a squash rather than zucchini, and the texture is similar to a white pumpking/radish when you cook it
THIS IS IT!!! And yes, Derek Sarno (Wicked Healthy~kitchen) is also an amazing chef! Thank you ALL for what you are doing for our animal friends. Truly.
Love the idea of this one, Gaz! The team is brilliant too, they're naturals on camera. Great energy all around! 🙌

Ha ha 🤣 funny! It's the same with me as well.... The chayote is the only thing from the video I have seen in "real life" in India 😂
@@namratak9232 I was gonna say that, they're so common esp down south
@@radhamuthurajini1965 in Delhi too, they're everywhere 😂 I have never liked it but this video motivates me to give it a try lol
The mushroom in that sauce!!!!! Yum! 😍😍😍😍😍😍 Enjoyed this video. Thank you!
The way you get excited about food is so adorable 🥰
Life doesn't get better than that my man 👍
So cool to meet your crew!! Such a quality videos! Pleasure to watch, not only the food, but the mastery of editing and filming!!! Yaaaaas
So close to 1 mil, Gaz! You deserve it! Loving all your recipes
It looks delicious. I've never tried chayote squash nor purple cauliflower. The mushroom looks incredible. You inspire me to try things that I wouldn't before. Thank you for this video.
This is the best video you've made and I would love to see more of this concept!
I really enjoy watching this! Wow you’ll be at 1m in no time! So excited for you Gaz! 😁💖

Youre the coolest Gaz, thanks for being an inspiration 💜
Gaz, you’re getting close to opening up your restaurant!
You did superb with this challenge. 🥰💕😘
Truly.
