"minus one" refers to the fact that Japan had just finished a war and was devastated, and with Godzilla attacking a country that is already destroyed it causes them to go from zero to minus.
Score is from Original Godzilla 1950s version Black and White reason why they also did Black and White version of this movie Minus 1 means after war they have nothing less thus Minus 1 this is from Director
great video man, godzilla minus one has become my favorite movie ever since seeing it. btw that explosion at about 4:58 is actual archival footage from operation crossroads back in 1946, not CG
using the freon to sink godzilla is based on real science. this is one theory as to why ships go missing in the bermuda triangle. the theory is that giant methane pockets release and come from the ocean bottom and if there is a ship above when the bubbles reach the surface, the ship sinks instantly.
In the final scene, the bruise on Noriko's neck indicates infection and erosion by G cells. Noriko was regenerated due to the amazing regenerative ability of G cells. In some ways, that could be crueler to her than her death.
Since you don't watch many monster movies a bit of trivia: Godzilla is originally based on nuclear bombs and being a symbol of destruction. In this movie them 'bombing' Godzilla is just them testing bombs and coincidentally hitting Godzilla to make him mutate. And yes, almost every Godzilla incarnation has some form of regeneration.
The music during Godzilla attack and the music during in the plan to defeat Godzilla is the classic Godzilla theme that’s been used in many Godzilla movies
Godzillas music isn't final boss music. It is THE final boss music. Created in the fifties, it most likely inspired every giant boss theme that exists. There's a reason they never successfully made a new theme for godzilla
It was so worth seeing this movie in theaters! It was such a surreal experience ❤ definitely one of if not the best Godzilla movie I have ever seen in my life! This movie a so deserved the Oscar!! Godzilla is the scariest he’s ever been and the characters are so incredible! The action is intense and amazing! I love your reaction so much! Thank you for watching this masterpiece!!✨♥️😊 As a Godzilla fan, you can’t ask for more.
This movie is great. Godzilla is pure evil. The war is not easy to live through. Survival guilt. Check out her neck. Radiation poisoning. The human characters are well thought out. Godzilla is used sparingly but effective. Award winning for sure. Can't wait for it to come to USA Blu-ray. 4 K.
That explosion you said was obviously CGI I believe was real footage from operation crossroads.. the nuclear tests done by the USA in the pacific is what made the dinosaur version of Godzilla into the full form version.
Also are you just using a VPN and an Amazon account to watch this with subtitles? Trying to figure out how to watch it at home on TV again with friends.
Japanese culture does 'borrow' ideas. Gatchman Ninjas was the first time you had a diverse group of five people work. At lot of anime copied it later. The one thing Godzilla borrowed from anime is Godzilla's breath build up. It looked like The Wave Motion Gun from Space Battleship Yamamoto/Starblazers (US adaption)

I would’ve never guessed that

🤯🤯
It is a CG recreation of the archival footage. Not completely 1-1 but it’s so close in angle that I thought it was real the first time I saw it

If you feel like cheated seeing Noriko alive, it is.
Please watch carefully for Noriko in the hospital.

It’s so catchy

Also for those wondering, the decompression caused godzilla to freeze from the inside out, which is why he crumbled. Its complicated

I cried at the end.

I dont know how you put a 2 hour movie in a 20 minute reaction but ok…
imagine this version being shown in Japan in 1954...
もっと深く注意深く日本の心を理解して観てください
The fake reaction to monetize is so pathetic, they think they are cheating. He's the worst kind of RUclipsr there is
I watched "Godzilla Minus One" for the time so you don't have to.

Minus One is basically a remake of the original Godizilla film from the 1950's and both films are made from the same studio.
