Western Ladies are Way to Smart for that to happen to and Most all western ladies wont go live in a 3rd world country plum full trash and filth and a place where just driving any kind of vehicle with wheels is a near death experience for even to most talented Filipinos to navigate , in sweltering Heat and Humidity 300 + days of any given year the pure stench from the garbage piled up every where alone it self will deter any western woman and then there are the Bugs monster cockroaches the locals just look at like there nothing but You wont be seeing them in that way at all Yes the fantasy that has No Happy ending except the part where your on a Plane back to the modern world , but i guarantee the images you will see in the Phils will be a reality check you wont ever forget even if your not fleeced by a Lady Boy or Local Kuya , the poverty is mind boggeling dont let these Expat Fun Videos be your standard as to what is going on They have been there for years just to find there nitch and there a small group who last past a few months and if they had not found a wife 20+ years younger than they are they would be long gone or in Thailand . Don’t carry around a credit card with zero balance without using it for too long.
I lived in Mexico for a year and pulled out a card that had $14k available credit when I left the states to use for a medical emergency and it was declined. I just figured it was because I was in Mexico (even though I told them I’d be there). So I pulled out another card to use.
Come to find out, Fidelity had dropped my available credit from $15k to $500 because they considered the card dormant since I had no balance and I didn’t use the card once in that year.
Now, I rotate my cards for small purchases so each one gets used every month.

This includes my wife and her 8yr old daughter. And we live okay and we are all happy. I take the wife out on a date night a couple of times a week. Visit the inlaws once a week. Eat the local food, rice, pork, fish and chicken. And the regular soft serve icecream which I have a weakness for. But we, don't buy steak and do without many of the western foods. We run the aircon each night and am happy using just the a fan during the day. It all depends on your personality as you said and the standard of living which makes you happy.

I need cataract surgery at 79, and thankfully it’s the only thing medically wrong with me. My opthamologist in Dumaguete says it will cost me 200,000P for both eyes. I have a friend from Amritsar, India who looked into getting cataract surgery there. I can fly to Amritsar for 21,000P, and the cataract surgery with new lenses costs 40,000P for both eyes there. So I’m going to go to Amritsar with my wife, get the surgery, and do some sight seeing for less money than what it will cost in the Philippines. For emergency medical I have my Advantage plan, where I have to pay cash now and then send the receipt to my insurance company. If I get sick enough to need US medical care, I can fly to the US and use my Advantage plan there. I think Guam qualifies as the US for this. I also do have some emergency money. My point is that there are other options than just cash in hand.
