"will this take you down to the claimed temperature, yes it will and lower" that's awesome! Thank you for the review of an alternative to the swagman! ATB Gary CT Backcountry.
I was a bit skeptical of your review, but because I’ve gotten a lot out of your content and I know you’re agenda-free, I bought one. You were right. This is a fantastic piece of kit, and an absolute steal at the price.
A similar product that I have is the Klymit Versa Luxe blanket. It has an actual footbox, places to put your hands, and snaps around the body. I was able to locate one for only $43 at Sierra Trading Post. I don't have the official temperature information, but that's my personal contribution to this video.
He’s comparing it to survival bushcraft style rugged survival multiuse poncho. Versa luxe is a fancy backpacker blanket. Does not compare at all. And this Onewind fails miserably against the Swagman without a hood
That's a neat product, thanks for sharing. At over twice the price, it's way off for me, but maybe once I get rich 😂 Maybe I'll just stich my own additions by copying that one though
Would be great if you reviewed the Hill peoples gear mountain serape. It’s made in the US by veterans. Since you’ve done a Polish design and a Chinese design it’s would awesome to see how the US made design stacked up! Another great vid man keep it up! 👍🏼
I have the onewind quilt, hammock, and underquilt. This winter I will find its temperature capabilities. But so far 40 degrees it's very comfortable. I'm very pleased with the product and customer service.
I have the green one and my wife has the blue. We both have gone down to low 40's upper 30's and both of us were comfortable. I did need to be nestled in and had good sleeping layers. Now I always do that but IU would feel confident taking the blue one myself down to freezing.
From the sounds of it this is similar in natured the military poncho liner, affectionately called a "woobie". The woobie does not have a hood, or at least mine didn't in the mid to late '70s. The poncho and the woobie combined were enough to keep me warm while trudging around a 100-acre military communications site doing security checks during the German winters. From the looks of it, it was designed, much like the military poncho and liner to be able to go over you and your rucksack. Sounds like a good product and at a darn good price.
Yay! You reviewed onewind! I'm using their double hammock, underquilt, and additional blanket that takes the underquilt to even lower temps. Would live to see you review more items from onewind!
Nice! I was thinking of getting my whole setup form their brand as everything seems so great! Thid versatile top quilt, the underquilt and blanket combo (total bargain), wind sock and a tent-like tarp for wintertime. How did everything hold up over time? Thanks in advance
After your review Luke I decided to order one. I have the swagman-roll and love it, but I like the idea of the snaps, footbox, no hood and also an additional cover for my wife, I felt it was an awesome idea. Thanks!
I really liked the swagman roll but I didn’t like the hood and the size was too small for me being 6 foot six,I really liked this one and I ordered it immediately.
Based on your recommendation, I purchased this. Tested it and liked it so much that bought a second and the XL two-piece blanket. It definitely meets the rated temperature. It is also pretty water resistant. I am thinking about some more of these.
I also love this and it performs well insulation wise. It doesn't pack as small as a down bag which is odd, but it's super light still. I was also thinking of buying a second and seeing how low 2 x of the 35-50 degree versions could get me and how small I could roll them in one stuff sack. I realize I'd need an aftermarket stuff sack, but if I can get a 10 degree bag this light for what would be $100 total that be great. To get to 10 degrees you'd prolly also need a sol escape bivy and maybe a liner. I think with that sleep system.you'd be good for 4 seasons here in the north east u.s. at least PA
I've had a OneWind blanket for a while now. Never heard of them before seeing a video by Blackie Thomas. It's a great blanket. I think this quilt and the blanket have the same material. Either way, it's an excellent idea.
Yeah, I have their hammock, underquilt, and the blanket that can be added to the UQ. I really do like their stuff - good quality at entry-level prices. I wouldn't use the insulation in freezing or below, but anything above that and I'd feel pretty confident.
I got on e last year i also bought the matching under quilt for hammock camping and iI love it in lower temps i use sweat paints and sweat shirt and I have stayed out in low 40s in my Hammock and just a tarp cover.
I have a complete camping system from onewind, the hammock, bug net, underquilt, tarp, it's in my opinion top quality gear at a budget friendly price point. I've been thoroughly impressed
Really interested in getting a couple of these . Like you I don’t want a hood . Read several reviews about the size of the head hole and overall length for taller people. Thanks for the review. Have a great evening
I agree with you: hoods are mixed blessings! The ones on my equipment block my peripheral vision; they tend to hold in too much heat. If I needed to hunker down in cold weather or against a tree in cold, rainy weather, I would go with the hooded Swagman. Thanks for picking a key product to review!
I feel the same. I was born with an extra vertebra in my neck, meaning that no hoods except for "goblin" style ones ever come far enough forward on my head to be of any use, anyway.
Yet another very similar alternative is the naturehike insulated poncho. As far as I can tell it is very similar to the Thermarest one but much cheaper.
I have both the top quilt AND the underquilt for my hammock. They are absolutely the best to sleep with. I have found it to go below temps listed and easy to use to keep me warm. Onewind so far has provided great products for use in hammock camping as far as I have found over this last few months. Great review and agree with you on all points after having used this on several occasions, once down to 32 degrees. Thanks for the video and review.
Your RUclips followers need to find you a company that will hire you in their product development process. You amongst some others can really raise the bar in the outdoor gear industry. :: fingers crossed ::
Ofcourse it would. I believe this to be geared towards over and under quilt, for hamuc camping, as well as a simple blanket or sleeping bag type wrap. There is also the poncho or coat style wrap. Either way it would work great for improving your bag temp rating plus.
Hey Luke! Great video! I think I like the Onewind version better than the Swagman roll. It looks like the hole for your head to go through is bigger and gives you more room.
I got the 30 to 50 and used it for snow camping in a hammock. It got so warm in the hammock that I had to open it up to let in the cool air and I was in 25 degree weather. I will say its ability to repel water far exceeds what they claim, I have washed it twice and it is no fun for it repels water so good and when you can get it wet it retains the water just as well.
I just got mine today, and wow its smooth. i like it. im in europe (DENMARK) and i didnt pay shipping, obviously thay have an offer on rigth no, with no shipping fee. Thank you Luke. goooooood tip!
Luke, quick question...If someone had no intention of using this as a poncho, is it still one of the best options for a quilt under $100 or are there better quilt options in this price point?
Adding a new comment: mine arrived super fast from Amazon. Not heavy, or stiff at or and almost total coverage for a 5"1 female. I'm hoping to test it this week, but feel confident I'm going to be pleased with it. My only 'issue' right now is how am I ever going to fit it back into that stuff back? Best recommendation ever, thank you!
Hello, I don’t suppose you could day what size you ordered? I am the same size as you and would like it to go over my head when used in a hammock with feet in footbed. Sorry I know you posted this three years ago! 😊
I would love to see a update to this video . Perhaps personal customization of this product such as the loops to be able to attach it to your sleeping pad and etc. I think with your honest review you could do a customization videos to show ways of making the products better customized to suit the owner
The one wind is great, but it could be improved a lot by just adding a few loops or reinforced loop holes and straps to give you options for attaching it to a sleeping pad, closing the foot box, or turning it into a sleeping bag. I don't like the snap buttons either, they don't feel sturdy and I am afraid to damage the fabric over time. It is very smooth, so it has a tendency to slide off from you. For the price, it is an awesome product though. I am going to put my wife to the sowing machine to add some stuff to it and fix the problems. A few simple modifications would turn it into a truly unbelievably good product. Edit: started typing before the video was over lol
One Wind could add an attachable hood to the 3 snaps in the head hole. That would at least offer people options. The down side might be that detachable things are more easily lost, but it still seems like a good idea.
60 bucks compared to 150 ish for the swagman roll and they do almost the same thing ya ill go with the onewind and use that and if it gets colder at nights have a jungle blanket or wobbie to add to it. this is a great video and recommendation
I have one of their hammocks and their under quilt and they are both brilliant. Love your review and on the the strength of it...or almost on the strength of it I'm going to buy one. Great honest review. Just what I wanted to push me over the edge 👍 Cheers.
i’m curious to know what you think about the onetigris ROC poncho liner. i just picked one up as an alternative to the swagman roll and i love it. but i’m curious how it stacks up to these.
This is an awesome alternative...great review, Luke! Definitely will add this to my gear list. Adding the Onewind quilt to the Swagman Roll should keep me warm and toasty on those temperature drop nights. This would be great to carry in the vehicle as an emergency blanket, too. I've been using the Snugpak Jungle Blanket or my old woobie lately to supplement the "Swag" but mostly to wrap my Thermarest mattress for additional insulation (increasing the R value). It's rare to find a quality product at a budget price.
I was thinking that between a woobie and this 'quilt' in a fall rating, you'd have combinations available to cover all but the coldest parts of winter at an unbeatable price.
Luke you rock buddy! Great review. Been holding off on the Swagman Roll because of the price. I don't like hoods and I am too wide to use the sleeping bag feature. Looking forward to getting mine. How about attachment to a poncho?
Chris- I'm a big guy too, and ended up getting the Hill People Gear Mountain Serape. It's wide and long enough, has a half zip footbox and a drawstring hood with a front zip for entry/ventilation.
I've used it, back in the early spring of this year, and it worked great. I personally recommend. I think it got down into the high 30s - used a wool blanket, and the UQ and the snap on quilt.
For me, I always wear a beanie in cooler weather anyway, so the lack of a hood is a pro rather than a con. I'll have to check the specs, but comparing this video to your review of the Swagman Roll, this quilt appears to pack down smaller - another pro. And of course the price is right. I was planning on modifying my Snugpak Jungle Bag, but for $60, I'll have to give the Onewind Quilt a try.
Well I thought I was sold in the swagman, but now I’m not sure. One of the big things was looking at options for something as a summertime over quilt, and I’m liking the way this looks. Great review as usual, and gave me some great info to make an informed decision
Luke.... any idea how this compare with the MILSPEC or Civilian "Poncho Liners"?? I swear by mine and often carry two. Light, warm, packable and in the $40 range. I'm surprised you have never mentioned the Poncho Liners. Ax
We need you to test the Nemo first light field collection of tents . These are the tents all us hunting / packing outdoors men are eying and there are not a lot of reviews on them.
I have one and use it in a hammock. I have had mine as low as in the mid 20sF. In conjunction with a sleeping only using it as bottom insulation with the one wind is a top blanket and it is quite impressive. The stuff sack is a little small and the green material is quite slick. I love mine! It's good stuff for the money! I'm thinking of sewing in loops at the corners to maybe use as additional under insulation.
Do you have the loops of being on a definite plus I have a snugpak blanket in frequently find it sliding off of my goose down sleeping bag on the floor
Sounds like a banger! You could definitely bring this as an extra or replace you quilt and puffy jacket with it. I'm ok than it doesn't have a hood, I prefer a beanie. I'm looking at getting a nice wool one this year finally.
Hmmmm. I wonder if there would be a way to reposition the draw string and hem up either end by several inches. I'm handy with a sewing machine, but even shorter than Luke. If I wore it as a poncho it would drag on the ground. Other than that, I really like this!
When you arrive on a video a year late & smile to catch Luke supplementing _his_ Trekology inflatapillow with the exact same Teton Sports compressible that you do. 😄
"will this take you down to the claimed temperature, yes it will and lower" that's awesome! Thank you for the review of an alternative to the swagman! ATB Gary CT Backcountry.
Great product. Hey, thanks for flashing the Celsius on the screen, much appreciated.
Agreed, it’s annoying having to convert the temps all the time 👍🏻
Sunday morning coffee on a cold day in Yellowknife Canada and watching the coolest hand in the land = winning!
New Brunswick Canada here 👍
Yellowknife ? on my way

Thanks for the information and review. NOW ITS COFFEE TIME
I have used this all summer and have been very happy with it
I have the onewind quilt, hammock, and underquilt. This winter I will find its temperature capabilities. But so far 40 degrees it's very comfortable. I'm very pleased with the product and customer service.
I bet doubling up both version of the TQ would let you get down really low.
@@swj719 yes I'm sure it will. As the temperature drops here I will learn its limits. The top quilt can be used as a poncho without a hood also.
Very nice and od green is a perfect color. The price is a good deal. Thanks for review Luke
I have the green one and my wife has the blue. We both have gone down to low 40's upper 30's and both of us were comfortable. I did need to be nestled in and had good sleeping layers. Now I always do that but IU would feel confident taking the blue one myself down to freezing.

I'm an old fashioned guy. I like wool blankets. Not a fan of nylon. However, I prefer this to the Swagman.
Thanks for the review. S&H
After your review Luke I decided to order one. I have the swagman-roll and love it, but I like the idea of the snaps, footbox, no hood and also an additional cover for my wife, I felt it was an awesome idea. Thanks!
I have one when I saw the swagman roll was so expensive this seemed like a good alternative definitely good product for the money. 👍
I've been using their underquilt for about a year now and like it too. Thanks for the look, Luke! Stay well.
I really liked the swagman roll but I didn’t like the hood and the size was too small for me being 6 foot six,I really liked this one and I ordered it immediately.

Luke, thank you for all of your research and information !! You really do a great job from what I can see.
I hope that you can do a review of the Onetigris top quilt.
He does review onetigrus equipment so I'm sure he will get around to it.
I appreciated the thorough review, Luke!
I got on e last year i also bought the matching under quilt for hammock camping and iI love it in lower temps i use sweat paints and sweat shirt and I have stayed out in low 40s in my Hammock and just a tarp cover.

Another alternative : Honcho poncho from Therm a rest....
Like your reviews, very relevant ......thanks
Yet another very similar alternative is the naturehike insulated poncho. As far as I can tell it is very similar to the Thermarest one but much cheaper.
Love your adventures and reviews.
Thank you for sharing brother for sharing your thoughts and facts and truth about this item
Quilt is cool and the review is awesome powerful presentation Luke you did it man.
Excellent review Luke. You’re covered all bases.
I find items shaped like that go quite easily and more effectively in a packing square. Just ordered mine, thanks for the detail.
I have really come to trust your judgment. Thank you for another honest review
Will get one luke. Thank you. Stay safe my friend

All of them should listen. Practical and useful critiques.
Would the fall version be a smarter buy?
Bet you are loving the Delta Storm now...?? Hope no bad floods!
I like this - I wonder if it could be used to increase a sleeping bag rating as it shouldn't restrict lofting of a current bag.
Ofcourse it would. I believe this to be geared towards over and under quilt, for hamuc camping, as well as a simple blanket or sleeping bag type wrap. There is also the poncho or coat style wrap. Either way it would work great for improving your bag temp rating plus.
How can this be used as a hammock underquilt? How would you attach it? That aspect was not covered.
I swear you always have perfect timing with when I want to watch a video lmao!
Hey Luke! Great video! I think I like the Onewind version better than the Swagman roll. It looks like the hole for your head to go through is bigger and gives you more room.
You know, If they were to make a snap on hood for those who would like one, this would be perfect.
I got the 30 to 50 and used it for snow camping in a hammock. It got so warm in the hammock that I had to open it up to let in the cool air and I was in 25 degree weather. have a similar product from Wiggy's. indispensable. but not as thick as this. i'll be taking a look. thank you.

Wow! a quilt... Love this review... thank you
I would like to see camo options, white/black, Mulit/Green or FDE, ATAC/OD etc
Seems like a really good alternative, without a hood is not a huge deal as i can wear a cap. Very nice, thanks for sharing.
I bought one. I love it. Very versatile. I mostly use it as a blanket / quilt. Great product!
Luke, quick question...If someone had no intention of using this as a poncho, is it still one of the best options for a quilt under $100 or are there better quilt options in this price point?
I was thinking the same thing
I am definately buying a couple of these, for hunting and home. The price is unbeatable.
I love my swagman roll you don't need a storage bag just pack it in the pocket on the front and its fairly compact and it's a pillow too
How can I get fall version I have the shorter one and I love it
Adding a new comment: mine arrived super fast from Amazon. Not heavy, or stiff at or and almost total coverage for a 5"1 female. I'm hoping to test it this week, but feel confident I'm going to be pleased with it. My only 'issue' right now is how am I ever going to fit it back into that stuff back?
All their products seem very good. The couple that I have are awesome. Remember that these items are made mainly for hammok camping.
This is an awesome alternative...great review, Luke! Definitely will add this to my gear list. Adding the Onewind quilt to the Swagman Roll should keep me warm and toasty on those temperature drop nights. This would be great to carry in the vehicle as an emergency blanket, too.
@@nicholasromano1422 Good to know brother! Thanks!
..good info. and review. could save a dollar or two..stay safe and enjoy..
I'm getting both I want the helikon as a poncho mainly this looks and price wise is better than the woobie
Luke, just wondering if you have tried their underquilt with the blanket as a combo. I would be interested in your view if you have.
I've used it, back in the early spring of this year, and it worked great. I personally recommend. I think it got down into the high 30s - used a wool blanket, and the UQ and the snap on quilt.
Luke, how would you compare this to the Snugpak hammock quilt?
For me, I always wear a beanie in cooler weather anyway, so the lack of a hood is a pro rather than a con. I'll have to check the specs, but comparing this video to your review of the Swagman Roll, this quilt appears to pack down smaller - another pro. And of course the price is right. I was planning on modifying my Snugpak Jungle Bag, but for $60, I'll have to give the Onewind Quilt a try.
Have 2 of the 40 degree model. Slept in hammock last Saturday night was about 50 degrees fahrenheit. Was warm. Also review the Onetigres ROC Poncho.
I just ordered a large winter version in navy blue for less than 70€ which includes 20% sales tax on Amazon DE.
Thank you for this informative video.
Thank you for the review Luke.
Tan/OD and I would be ALL in.
I agree with no hood/watchcap.
Instead of putting grommets in it, you can use tarp clamps.
Well I thought I was sold in the swagman, but now I’m not sure. One of the big things was looking at options for something as a summertime over quilt, and I’m liking the way this looks. Great review as usual, and gave me some great info to make an informed decision
What did you end up with an how do you rate it?
I think that absence of hood is deal breaker for me. Especially for winter usage.
Luke.... any idea how this compare with the MILSPEC or Civilian "Poncho Liners"?? I swear by mine and often carry two. Light, warm, packable and in the $40 range. I'm surprised you have never mentioned the Poncho Liners. Ax
Onewind has a fantastic hammock system at a super price
I got lucky and found an old Ecotat bag/poncho. Mint in cayote. Has the poncho option. Do you have one? I would love to see a review or comparison 🤙
good review, strength and honor
Great review ..was looking for something like this but my gear budget is low..this seems like great performance at a price I can afford
You give excellent reviews.
Like the quilt and very versatile.
Have them put some snaps on the bag so that it can be attached and used as a hood to keep your head dry.
Never use compression bags, never roll up - just stuffing inside the ruck - save time and weight. I need the fall version
I suspect using both at the same time would allow you to really push the temps down.
We need you to test the Nemo first light field collection of tents . These are the tents all us hunting / packing outdoors men are eying and there are not a lot of reviews on them.
Have you ever reviewed the ZenBivy system? I would enjoy your take. I really appreciate your unbiased reviews. Thanks!
Can this product be used as an under quilt for a hammock? Thanks. I enjoy your reviews. Keep them coming.
So this topquilt and a sleeping pad van get you down to water freezing temps? :O
Do you have the loops of being on a definite plus I have a snugpak blanket in frequently find it sliding off of my goose down sleeping bag on the floor
Awesome and fair priced. I might have to go with this.
How will this Quilt preform if it got wet, will it still be warm? Can you squeeze water out and hang dry on the trail, will the loft puff up?
Sounds like a banger! You could definitely bring this as an extra or replace you quilt and puffy jacket with it. I'm ok than it doesn't have a hood, I prefer a beanie. I'm looking at getting a nice wool one this year finally.
Hmmmm. I wonder if there would be a way to reposition the draw string and hem up either end by several inches. I'm handy with a sewing machine, but even shorter than Luke. If I wore it as a poncho it would drag on the ground. Other than that, I really like this!
Thanks Luke, alpha wolf, for this great review!
When you arrive on a video a year late & smile to catch Luke supplementing _his_ Trekology inflatapillow with the exact same Teton Sports compressible that you do. 😄
