Miles Davis changed all of that when he released his 1965 LP E.S.P.. He insisted to the label executive that his wife, Frances, appear on the cover. And she did.
LOL, no it's called The Temptation Walk. Check out the original Temptations from back in the day performing "I'm Losing You." They originated the dance.
John J. "J. J." Jackson Jr John J. "J. J." Jackson Jr. (April 8, 1941 - March 17, 2004) was an American radio and television personality. He was one of MTV 's five original VJs (along with Nina Blackwood, Mark Goodman, Alan Hunter, and Martha Quinn). ...............no he is still alive
That is SO not true. This was on the show 'WHERE THE ACTION IS' which was the equivalent to another teen show on NBC (HULLABALOO). I watched this show as a kid and this was definitely shot in the 60's. By the 70, nothing was in B&W. Everything about this video screams the 60's, from the hair, to the clothes, to the dance steps.
I used to love playing this song in our old band, complete with horns.
I play bass, and this was a fun song to play!
❤this song!
awesome original version of this song 👏
Still sounds GREAT, 60 years later............
That Brother can sing & do the Skate! Luv it!

Back in those days black singers was forbidden to have their own race in their music videos or on there album cover. WOW!
Wow. That explains white girls on couple James Brown LP's I had...
@ImageByMalcolm- EXACTLY! The same thing with Billy Stewart (see him sing Summertime on RUclips)
Miles Davis changed all of that when he released his 1965 LP E.S.P.. He insisted to the label executive that his wife, Frances, appear on the cover. And she did.
That only happened in the South. Also, if a song by a black artist had an album cover featuring a black man holding a weapon, it would be banned.
Dave Clark and other music shows would have blacks in the audience dancing with either a black or white singer
😊😊
This white guy thinks this remix of JJ Jackson is more than, "Alright!"
❤❤❤❤❤Por eso nos cuesta tanto oír estilos y sonidos de moda.
Looks like they're doing the slop.
LOL, no it's called The Temptation Walk. Check out the original Temptations from back in the day performing "I'm Losing You." They originated the dance.
LOL! The "Slop", that's a term I haven't hear in over 60 years!
Is he the same JJ Jackson who was VJ for MTV?
dont think so
yes it is.
No, different J.J. Jackson.

This was early 1970's, although video quality would say otherwise. People who are commenting think it's back in the 1950's or 60's segregation.

this song came out in 1967 as my rock band used to play it! Everybody got up and danced when we played this! Great song with and awesome groove to it!
Dude, they have on go go boots! And😂 hip huggers! 60's.
I first walked into a club February 1968 and this song was playing.
It was So sad, back then, that we had to promote our songs in such a degrading manner….SMH
What was so degrading?Motown and rock n roll were one not like today it was beautiful there was no color in music we were one for all all for one
??!! sa WHAT...??
Degrading? You're reaching! Don't play that game with me.
I'm guessing back then they didn't look at it that way. But were elated to get a chance to break into the business!
