An even better option? The 32303HD at our Lowes also had the 11/32 instead of the 9/16, so we got the $20 32933G 7-in-1 Impact Flip Socket Set with the 9/16 that we prefer and paired it with the $22 32303 14-in-1 Adjustable Length Screwdriver (which does have the new carousel center divider and back stop). For only $2 more than the $40 32303HD, we get everything that the 20-in-1 has plus the 32933G includes a T25 and the 32303 adds another impact rated adjustable length blade (and that one has a permanent magnetic stainless steel bit holder, not the less solid sliding socket). Having the two blades also allows the height of our screwdriver to be much smaller since the non-sockets blade can hide in the 32303 handle.
That’s right, you get a lot for just $2 more. Good point! Thanks for commenting!! 👍
Got the same exact set up going on! Glad I’m not the only one.
@Sixpathsoflight I did the exact same thing. The regular 14-in-1 magnet 🧲 magnetizes any bit you put into it more so than the the 7-in-1. so that’s another benefit for $2 more. 👍
Thanks for the heads up!
I just picked one up at Lowe's on sale and mine has the 9/16 on it! Very happy with it so far. Keep in my hvac quick check bag 👍
Good deal. It’s handy. Thanks for watching!
Great tool to add to a compact setup to get you by for essential jobs. Adding it to the wishlist.
Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching! 👍
Thank you! Definitely gonna get this.
Thanks for watching. The tool has definitely been improved.
One change that I really like on the 20-in-1 is that Klein added a center divider on the bit carousel, so the bits don't slide into one another like they did on the 14-in-1. The bit carousel on this 20-in-1 looks a lot like the one on the smaller Klein 27-in-1 Tamperproof precision screwdriver. Evidently, Klein also updated their 14-in-1 adjustable screwdriver with the new bit carousel.
Exactly! I noticed they did that since I did the Klein 14-in-1 fail video. Not only keeps the bits from striking each other, but also keeps them from sliding out when you open it. It's also like the megapro carousel.
@@projectpinehills Agreed! A massive improvement in my opinion. You’re right, that MegaPro carousel is fantastic. 👍
Excellent video! Keep up the great reviews!
Thank you and thanks for watching! 👍
What a brilliant setup.
Yes it is interesting. Thanks for watching! 👍
Good to know they have the 9/16 available separate 👍
Yes it is. The whole Klein section at Lowes is nice. Notice the carousel has been completely redesigned since I did the 14-in-1 fail video and they added a divider between bits. The 7-in-1 with 9/16 flip socket have an updated shape too. Good to hear from you! 👍
Great video 👏👏
Thanks for the visit 👍
Almost grabbed two new drivers from them the other day. Got to go back!
Hope the video helped. Thanks for watching!
There are two versions of the 7-in-1 with different socket sizes and a new 9-in-1 flip socket set where the smallest three sockets are the same as those in one of the 7-in-1 sets. The 9-in-1 one comes with the set that includes the 9/16ths socket.
That’s right. I have a video about the new 7-in-1 and need to check out the new 9-1in-1. Thanks for watching! 👍
I was going to comment on when you said it slides out easier, that's not a good thing with these kind of tools. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching!
I do like mine but the one gripe I would say is, everything is loose , the shaft wiggles a bit much when all sockets are on bc it forces you to use the last adjustment, the sockets move back & forth sometimes, & the bit holder sockets slides back causing the bit to fall sometimes, still dig it but I’m js imo
I agree, it is a bit loose. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching! 👍
I've been using one of these for a while. My only complaint is that when you just want to use the sockets and take out the bit on the end, there is no empty spot in the handle to place it. You have to set it down, put it in your pocket, etc.
I agree. I removed the least used bit from the handle to address that issue. Thanks for watching!
Truthfully just throw a bit away and deal with it. This way you always have that slot ready for this situation. Replacement bits are everywhere
Yup! 👍
Bought this 20-1 at local Lowes last week. I ordered online and picked it up at store. What I got is 9/16 socket. I went into the store and found 20 sets in stock, but all of them have 11/32 socket instead of 9/16. I could not figure out the reason. btw, it was on sale at $29.99.
Interesting, I guess they originally offered the 20-in-1 with the 11/32 socket but now they offer it with the 9/16 socket. The Lowes store probably has older stock in inventory. Thanks for watching!
Yes!!!
👍
Can this thing be used as a manual impact driver, or is it just a screwdriver that comes with impact-rated bits? I bought one assuming the former based on the packaging.
The bits are impact rated, it’s not a manual impact driver. Thanks for watching! 👍
Hmm, well, overall Klein did a nice job updating and upgrading this screwdriver. However, there’s a pretty noticeable downside for me. I just bought this 20-in-1, went home to test it, and realized the magnetic tip doesn’t magnetize the included Klein bits (when the 1/4” socket is configured to accept a bit), so it doesn’t magnetize a screw(s).
I tried using my Milwaukee bits that are magnetized and that does help a bit, since the screw does hold onto the bit, although it's very weak.
I’ll have to give it some thought on whether I should return it or not. It’s still a very versatile set-up, but magnetic strength of the bits is high on the priority list. I could get the 14-in-1 (who knows, maybe that doesn't magnetize the bits either), but that loses a lot of versatility compared to this 20-in-1.
Have you tested the magnetic strength of your 20-in-1 screwdriver with the 1/4” socket configured for bit holding using the included Klein 1/4” bits?
That’s a good question. I have not tested it yet but I will. I also use a magnetizer to improve strength if need be. 👍 Thanks for commenting!
@@projectpinehills I may have to resort to using my magnetizer as well, which isn’t a huge deal, but I prefer not to. Ha-ha.
When you have time, test the magnetic strength of the screwdriver with the Klein bits. It caught me off guard a bit, and is a little disappointing. What this whole thing reminds me of is the Klein 32500HD 11-in-1 Impact screwdriver because the section that has a magnet that’s used with any 1/4” bit DOES not magnetize the bit. That was a massive oversight in my opinion on that 11-in-1 screwdriver. In this day in age, if there is a magnet on the holder for the bit, it needs to be strong enough to magnetize the bit as well.
Ok, I tested and you are right. The 14-in-1 does magnetize the bit a lot more than the 20-in-1 and the 14-in-1 HVAC. 👍
@@projectpinehills Thanks for checking! I truly appreciate it.
Now I have to find magnetic bit holder from that Klein 14-in-1. I don’t think it’s sold separately any where, but I’ll look. I could return the 20-in-1 for the 14-in-1 and then purchase the socket set separately. However, the 14-in-1 screwdriver and 14-in-1 HVAC screwdriver for whatever reason STILL have the tapered chrome push button, while the 7-in-1 screwdriver and 20-in-1 screwdriver have the flat black push button. I have no idea why, but it is what it is. I happen to like the look of the flat black push button better than the chrome and the flat black push button appears to go down a bit deeper into the handle than the tapered chrome one.
What’s also odd is that Lowes has their picture of the Klein 14-in-1 screwdriver and Klein 14-in-1 HVAC screwdriver with the flat black push button and not the tapered chrome. It’s odd because at the time of this writing my local two Lowes has them with the tapered chrome push button (I checked two local Lowes stores). Maybe they’ll change over time.
I got the 14-in-1 which had the black collet and the 9/16 7-in-1 and combined them.
Now if they would make this with a ratcheting function...
Well they have the 11 in 1 impact with ratchet option now, so maybe just a matter of time. 👍
Why are they not combinng the 27-in-1 with the 7-in-1
I had to think about that one, that’s an interesting thought. Good question!
there isnt an empty spot in the handle for the bit that comes in 1/4 socket🙄
Right, that’s part of how they got that 20 count.
I'm going to buy one of these. I wish they had metric version.
Good deal, link in description. Thanks for sharing! 👍
Why is Home Depot not going to sell klein tools anymore?
I’m not sure, you’d think both Lowe’s and Home Depot could sell them like DeWalt.
Yes I may have misspoke, they seem to be planning to keep some Klein but they do have several with yellow sale tags. It's clear in the store that they are replacing several Klein tools with Milwaukee tools in the electricians section of the store.
Lowes is selling Klein tools.
That’s right. That’s where I got the 20-in-1. Thanks for watching! 👍
HD is making a big mistake by dropping Klein Tools just as they're releasing some of the most innovative hand tools/storage cases made today. Oh well. It's an extra 15 minutes drive time for me to get to Lowe's but I've been doing it lately. I don't mind.
I’ve since been corrected that HD is not completely dropping Klein, but they are reducing the footprint. So they will still be available. Thanks for watching!
Too bad it doesn't have the ratcheting feature
That would be an interesting addition. Thanks for watching! 👍
Thank god because who uses 11/32
haha, some people say they need it but I like to see the 9/16. 👍
oh for a metric version.
Been hearing that a lot. 👍
20 in 1? This is a 19 in 1 !! 13 insert bits and 3 flip sockets....
I agree, you are correct. They count the 1/4” bit holder. Thanks for pointing that out & thanks for watching! 👍
@@projectpinehills I think you meant the bit shank, the bit holder is one of the three sockets. Anyway the shank (or the handle) should not be included in the count.
No, they count the 1/4” socket twice… once as 1/4” and once as a bit holder.
@@projectpinehills Thats yet another possibility!
Not all Kline tools are USA made this one I believe is made in china😢
Gimmick for apprentices to blow money on IMO
Thanks, I appreciate your feedback!
Yes, it comes down to how you use it and what your work requires… using the right tool for the job. This tool is all about working on site and carrying less.
I don't understand this part of your comment: "I have the 14 in 1 on the adjustable 27 in 1 handle". The 27-in-1 tamper proof? It's got a fixed handle?
I'll take it!! Its my money, my problem!!
A lazy man tools i pass
Thanks for sharing. I think it has its place for when you need light weight tool storage.
This thing looks like a wobbly complicated mess. How are you supposed to get any work done if you spend all your time moving bits around. I am very disappointed Klein would make garbage like this. Best screwdriver I ever used is: LENOX Tools Screwdriver, 9-in-1 Multi-Tool (23932)
I can see your point but I think it comes down to your work routine. If you are working multiple floors for building maintenance for example and need to pack light, I think it's perfect. I don't use it in this with all the sockets on the hex rail. It's really more about socket storage than running it in this configuration. I like to run it without the 2 extra flip sockets and lower the shaft into the handle. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching!
