I'd add that maybe a low cost product is better in this position.
Often the people buying from the trailer don't know you so well. They didn't have time to develop the trust to buy something expensive.

This is the first time I've stopped by your new channel, and I have to say I'm finding the (necessarily) stripped back videos refreshing. Your epic Film Booth videos are always so well done and entertaining, but I can find it difficult to switch from being entertained to learning mode and sometimes I'd not actually absorb all the great info you gave. I find it much easier to actually take on information in these style of videos. I hope that's the same for other people because then its wins all 'round! And congratulations in making the changes needed to get out travelling the world.

While the original channel is always a fun and entertaining watch, I really enjoy the more targeted content on the new channel, it hits into the exact skills/areas I'm trying to grow as a creator and to improve in my channel. Love your advice here. This is a simple and direct method of selling things, and once I have a product to sell, I think I'll do this. Because you're right... I do have a video placed there out of shame. (It's really fun though! Everyone should watch it! ... PLEASE)
The Ali Abdaal quote was funny, and I believe it's spelled "stories." I swear when I see something slightly off in your video, I sometimes wonder if you are trying to drive people to engage in the comments. The one way to get everyone to engage is to get something wrong!

Good ideas here. I own a hobby shop and have 6 RUclips channels that pertain to all the different departments in my store. I have made sales videos before, but never thought of one universal video i could link to all my channels in the comment section. - well...off to film again!

Hey Ed! Great video! I just spotted a typo of the word stories at 4:03. But I like the word Storires more! It's a mix of the word story (in English of course) and the word « rires » (that means laughter in french). Anyways always great value videos from you!

I'm so excited for this new channel, this is EXACTLY the kind of stuff I've been looking for. My niche is 18+ so it's non-monetizable, I want to be able to make videos for this niche, but was thinking of abandoning it because there's not clear way to be compensated for the work. But this channel is COMPLETELY changing my mindset.

HA i was just thinking about this yesterday. I feel we are connected :D No but i have a question indeed. Maybe a topic for one of your next videos. I am dancing 3or4 weddings and i want to make videos about all of them: restoring a vintage porsche, cabin life and motion graphics. All totally different topics and target groups. I have scripts ready for shooting for at least 5 Video in every niche. I do NOT want to host 3 different channels. Do you have a strategy for that? I am sure i am not the only one with this issue. Thx in advance - and keep up the top content. I am enjoying this - cheers from Berlin
Sadly its too many niches you're targeting, itll be very very hard to grow if you appeal to too many different interests
I'm in the same boat.
My advice would be to in fact make three youtube channels, upload your five videos and see which one you 1. Enjoy making the most 2. Get the most traction from
Make your decision from there. If you're looking to grow on youtube, doing all 3 won't work.
If you're looking to just make videos and have fun, but all means upload all of them to the same channel

Would it be useful to promote Patreon or something in that? I'm making an entertainment channel with a focus on storytelling through gameplay videos and cute animations/comics (mostly focusing on Minecraft with some variety so I don't go insane), so I don't really have a problem to solve other than "boredom and a lack of community". Patreon is the main thing I'm thinking of pushing outside youtube monetisation and (eventually) merch. (Also this is not my content channel). So is patreon something that could be promoted here?
you can promote anything you like there, so i think it would be worth putting a video about Patreon there too
