  • Based on the comments from a water business Facebook page, they say their number one issue and source of stress with this business are their employees. This may be true for most, however so far with our business we as a team have the same mindset and goal for the business. Setting expectations, making sure you take care of your employees as well as being an advocate for work life balance had helped us a lot. We were blessed with our first employees that we encourage them to express their opinions and ideas to help this business succeed. Hope we can give you guys a different perspective on employees from the majority.

Most employees here in the Philippines will expect you to loan them money till their next payday. They'll come up with excuses like " I need money for my rent" type deal. It's very different than in the states where that is unheard of.

We experienced that during our house build. It happened to our architect every Wednesday on the dot lol. Definitely different from the states. So far our peeps have been good and they’re more shy about it because they know we run our business how it’s ran back in the states.

Hahha! That's a given! But i can understand certain circumstances and give out loans with easy deductions every payday. Sometimes its something on Shopee, like a nice Japanese tool the guy wants but doesn't have the cash... no problem with me. Hell, if i like it too, i order one for me too and just sponsor his. Mondays can be an extension of Sundays - nobody turns up due to hangover 😂 especially with the boys! Its not all the time, but it happens on occassion. Overall, its all about balance, a bit of tango n cha cha 😂 Hayyy! But that's life.

Employee issues are a problem with all businesses. The common theme I hear about employee attitudes in the Philippines is that they are entitled to whatever they want because they are not being paid enoug.

I agree. There are establishments here that pays below minimum wage.

We pay our crew for the most part the minimum province wage. However, after 90 days of good work we offer Pab-ibig, philhealth and SSS, that and the daily food is free (and not junk). Now, being a water delivery guy is not a career.. and we understand that as team members move on, its just them improving. We also use a 'bondi' clocks to track attendance and hours. We pay overtime. Keep at it..

    Hey brother,
Just came across your video and subscribed. My wife and I are currently in the states but we go visit her home in Luzon at least every other year to see family.
As a foreigner I have been considering this business concept. I am looking for viable ways to generate revenue and use the profit to pour into others, and support our mission / outreach work we do. Low start up cost and a good ROI.
I pray we cross paths one day in the near future. Thank you for your valuable knowledge and information of owning a water refilling business. Will check out your other videos soon.
    Blessings to you and yours.
    Grateful,
